We were waiting to go into a club the other night and saw this tattoo artist taking a snooze between customers in his shop.

Black is the Chosen Color

Today is the first of the month. (And Easter and April Fools Day for that matter.) But the first of the month brings them day to City Daily Photo and the theme is 'One Color.' I caught this young lady recently dining in one of our favorite restaurants. She and her companions were wearing black clothing with just the odd white or gray stripe. Our server at a local restaurant let us take a photo of her outstanding pineapple tattoo. She was really nice.

Say Cheese, Please

On a stroll down South Congress we saw our friend Mike Thompson trying a sandwich at this trailer and ask him to pose. He said he was going nearby for some new ink and his daughter in Oklahoma had turned him on to this place after having seen it online.

Tribute to Dad

One of the employees at the new Searsucker sports this 'Dad' tattoo. She's balanced, though. Her other bicep is a tribute to Mom.

FFP shot this of the full arm tattoo of one of the Royal Blue Grocery cashiers. (The Royal Blue is the grocery/deli in our building. They have a wonderful group of employees.)

Growing up With Tattoos

One thing that is different than when I grew up is how many adults have tattoos. Have you ever wondered how kids will feel about tattoos when they've grown up in the arms of parents, nannies, babysitters who have them. Will they see them as a sign of adulthood to be quickly embraced? Or as something to rebel against by, I don't know, doing something else?

Crossword Tattoo?

We were dining last week at Elizabeth Street on South First and our waitress at the bar had a tattoo I'd never seen anything like: a crossword puzzle grid. She said she was from Oregon and used to be a big fan of crossword puzzles. Thanks to FFP for this great iPhone photo.

Jackie discovered this mural on East Avenue. "We went down to Rainey Street and walked over to see the new bar Agora being built on the east frontage road of I-35. In the same block was this wonderful mask printed on an old house that’s now a tattoo parlor."
