Walk the walk, love the mural
We took a nice walk in Clarksville today. Here you see my backside in a photo taken by my wife, Linda Ball. The mural on the side of Nau's Drugstore says, "Love is the question, love is the answer." Hard to argue.

Express yourself! Have at it!
We saw this nice box of chalk on an east Austin sidewalk the other day -- just waiting for people of any age to make their thoughts known.

No Sidewalks
The east side of near South Lamar. In parts, there are bad sidewalks. Here, none. That's my husband treading along. He's been nursing an ankle injury and we haven't been walking a lot. I miss it. This was taken in November. I think I'll post more pictures of him walking with me at a respectful distance. (Kidding, I just fall behind while talking pictures.)

Typical Austin
There's a story here. For years, a scraggly little piece of scrub brush poked up from this cut in the sidewalk on Fourth Street. No doubt, they had to go to extra expense to carve this semi-circle in the sidewalk instead of just cutting the thing down.

I think that this street art is to warn people the dumping liquids here will lead to pollution of the creek system.

Sidewalk Art
This was neatly drawn in the sidewalk on the Johnson Creek Trail. I doubt it's an indicator that any is growing around there, probably just a bit of art or wishful thinking.

Remains of the Day
The morning after Austin's Gay Pride Parade found the sidewalk near our building strewn with fragments of colored balloons lost to puncture the night before. (Perhaps from lit cigarettes?!)

Sidewalks!
By the time you see this entry the sidewalk being poured here will be in place. I hope. This is looking straight down on the street below us.

Oh, yeah, that ADA thing
On this street leading to the newly opened Walter Seaholm Drive there were no curb cuts for the sidewalk. Our friend Jackie took this picture as they worked on correcting this. If I'm not mistaken this street was recently done when the apartments nearby went up, but I don't suppose doing things right the first time was a priority. Our friend who uses a wheelchair will find the trip up to Third Street much less harrowing now.
