They're baaaack!

Scooters are starting to be used again and their riders just throw them down, blocking sidewalks.

Accident waiting to happen

The photo says it all. If this truck backs up, one less scooter. Hallelujah!

Smarty pants scooter riders

We told these youngsters that riding scooters on the Capitol grounds was illegal. It took the state troopers they were riding towards to enforce the law. I wish they'd gotten a fine.

Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

Here is a combustion engine truck delivering battery-powered scooters that have been charged off the grid. When people ride these (often dangerously and not really to use for transportation but for fun) is that really reducing harm? When we dodge these things, both at rest and in motion, we ask a lot of these questions.

Such a lovely sight

Our city has seen fit to unleash scooters on the sidewalks, by the thousands. Here you see how they are carefully stored-- NOT!

Scoot over!

It never ends-- these scooters look so ugly, trashing out the landscape. And since these are on the lip of a driveway, these may get run over.

Lawbreakers

The law our city council says that children under 18 have to wear helmets and there can be no more than one person on a scooter. Yeah. Right. And when that kid gets thrown to the pavement, who will pick up the bill at the hospital? The taxpayers of Austin.

More scooter madness

This scooter rider has issues, as they say. Yeah. Thanks for littering our trail, you fine person.

Scooter madness

An attorney who works in a local law firm with a friend of ours was knocked against a wall by this woman who exited an elevator while riding on a scooter. (She had dismounted by the time the injured party could take a photo.) Incredible.

Scooters

Here you see a group of young ladies anxious to hit the bars. Glad that they have scooters to use, so they don't have to strain their legs by walking. Of course, that means people like Linda and me have to lurch to the side in a hurry, but what the heck?

Scooter madness

I'm sure that the people who office here were glad to see these things on their sidewalk when they got to work.

I wish!

These things are rampant on our sidewalks, despite this warning.

Black Birds

Scooters have taken over our town. The ones by the company called Bird are Black. They have become the bane of our walking existence both as sidewalk and street litter and moving hazards on sidewalks and crosswalks. Today is theme day at City Daily Photo. The theme is black. See other interpretations here.

Scooter madness

More horrible behavior from scooter riders. If you were in a wheelchair and wanted to get across the street here, these scooters would cause you a big problem.

Scooterville, USA

Yes, we have all types of public transportation ready to go here. This is about one block from our place.

Scooter boys

Scooters have taken over our downtown area. Her you see some "bros" who are "reducing the carbon footprint." Actually, they are just joy-riding.

Urban litter

Austin has been invaded by scooters and we don't like them. Here is an example why.

Scooter Litter

I despise these things (Lyme Scooters, well, all  the electric dockless scooters), but please don't put things with batteries in the creek!

Scooters -- not here? Yeah, right.

Scooters are threatening life and limb all over downtown, but hey, the newspaper can print useless charts. Fun and games.

More scooter obnoxiousness

A friend took this shot of a batch of scooters jamming up the one van-accessible handicapped parking spot at Pease Park. Not acceptable.
