NIght scene

We were eating dinner at La Travaita the other night and I took this shot from our window seat. I liked the effect of the lights in the restaurant looking like they were strung across Congress Avenue.

Luna Light

Linda took this terrific shot of the moon over downtown Austin from our balcony a couple of nights ago. We love the ever-changing view of the sky from our condo.

Pedicab, anyone?

The pedicabs were lined up and transporting attendees from the Austin Music Awards as fast as they could load them up at Austin Music Hall last night. All part of the fun at South by Southwest.

Night in the City

Not a great picture, but I shot it with a Nikon S630 Point and Shoot from a moving boat so...all things considered...I like it.

South By Fireworks

I stood on our balcony and took this photo of the fireworks that ended South by Southwest on Saturday. The "fireworks setting" on our camera yields some interesting shots.

Holiday View from The Long Center

I was backstage at The Long Center last night for The Nutcracker. On the way out, I used my iPhone to snap this view of a girl playing on the City Terrace. You can see the vertical lights of our home across the lake in the background.

Indoor fireworks

Linda and I went to a dinner at the Headliners Club recently to hear former Presidential advisor Karen Hughes give a talk. The club is atop one of the taller downtown buildings.

We had seats by one of the windows and I took this shot of the Frost Tower. The lights inside the club room reflected in the glass, creating a fireworks effect.

Night Lights

Turn out the lights in our apartment and the Frost Bank and the green light on the AMLI building provide beckons for us, adding their glows to our various night lights. There are even a few lights in the Austonian which will one day be ablaze with lights from residents; apartments at night although from our low altitude we think the W hotel will block our view of some of it.
