Helping hands

This maid service has a clever logo that grabs attention. I see their cars all over downtown.

Fly Away Pooch

No this isn't amusing graffiti but, rather, the clever logo for a pet transportation service on Brazos Street.

What is Weird?

Much ink and many pixels are spilled agonizing over whether Austin is 'staying weird' and how to keep it that way. (I even saw a bumper strip the other day that said 'Make Austin Weirder.')  I'm sure that means something different to everyone. This is the only business I remember seeing that adopted 'weird' as part of its name and not just a slogan. It is downtown and it serves as an apartment locator. I'm not sure weird is what I'm after in housing! And a couple of the buildings in their logo are office spaces. Nevertheless I like the logo (on their office space in the Brazos Lofts on Fifth) with a reflection of some downtown buildings.

If Pigs Could Fly...

I know many faithful readers don't think we can get further away from downtown than our feet can easily take us but sometimes we drive and go to dinner. This wonderful joint is on 53rd Street and we ate there last month. I like the flying pig logo.

Tax Time

It's that time of year in the U.S. when the 1099's and W-2s start to arrive and your thoughts turn to 1040, when, if you have business affairs, you have to worry about 1098, W-3, 940, 941 and preparations for 1120. This isn't graffiti but rather the logo of our CPA who stylishly resides on South Congress taking care of myriad forms for us.

When you send off your forms, it is sort of like this, isn't it? Faith that you have filled them out correctly and that they will arrive at the correct address (our Internal Revenue Service has service centers all over and everything needs to be properly directed).
