Loving what you do
I was trying to find an appropriate photo for Valentine's Day. This man seems to love what he does, so I thought I'd post it. Love appears in a lot of forms.

Austin's Finest
Forrest crosses the pedestrian bridge over Shoal Creek next to our building. These two mounted policemen were coming from the other direction. The guy in back tipped his hat to Forrest and to me as he passed. The mounted police are great for patrolling our trails. The construction you see is the Seaholm Condominiums and just beyond the new Trader Joe's in our neighborhood.

Keepin' it Weird, Live Animal Edition
We were walking down South Congress on a pleasant day in early February when we noticed two horses tied up in front of a shop. They were right beside this car which has been there a while promoting the shop I guess. FFP showed the long view yesterday of this same shot. Just shows how a change in POV can make a shot very different.

Don't Drink and Drive
New Year's Eve? I hope everyone stays safe out there tonight.
We were out having a snack at Ruth's Chris Lounge over on West Sixth one night before Christmas. I looked out the window and I saw a guy riding this fellow. Not the usual Austin sight in downtown (or anywhere else) but not unheard of to see it. Then when we walked home and there was the horse, tied to a bicycle rack in a No Parking zone by the Austin Ale House. (I've never been to this bar and grill. Now, I have to say, I'm a little intrigued!) Especially since a couple of days ago a facebook friend happened by and there were two horses 'parked' outside.

What?
Yes, we are in Texas and I know everyone thinks we see cowboys all the time. Not So. These guys (and their horses) were pulled up in a parking place in front of Wiggy's on West Sixth. I didn't have time to inquire about what they were doing as we were headed to a dinner reservation. But my reaction as I took this quick picture was much like the woman shown on the left. What?
