I like to keep posting shots like this one. As an old-timer around Austin, I never fail to marvel at how our town has grown.

The latest boardwalk view

What a skyline our little town has these days. When I was a kid, if you had told me that it would look like this someday, I would have passed out. We enjoy giving our readers visual updates.

Thanks to Ann Butler for her donation which funded this outlook station off the Boardwalk. It provides a terrific view of the downtown skyline. Sometimes I cannot believe that this is my little town. Ms. Butler also provided a lot of other funding for the trail system.

Good advice!

The city-maintained trails are indeed our gym -- we get a lot of exercise for our tired old bodies on them. I'm glad that they exist. We saw this sign on the Boardwalk the other -- it is a fancy trail on the south shore of Lady Bird Lake. 

The Skyline from the Boardwalk

About a third from the leftt you can see our building and the new 500 West Second being built as well as the recently completed Northshore Apartments.

The Boardwalk

I like this picture of the boardwalk on the hike and bike trail (no boards are actually involved but we call this lovely extension which reaches out over the lake in places the boardwalk nonetheless). That's FFP strolling ahead of me.

Lovely Graffiti

It will almost be a shame when this graffiti under the IH35 bridge is painted over. It looks like a Japanese screen. Seen from the boardwalk.

Framing the skyline

The new boardwalk lets us all have a taste of natural beauty along with the soaring views of the tall buildings downtown.

On the boardwalk . . .

Here is a shot I took of Linda on the fancy boardwalk we now have along Lady Bird Lake. Love this new amenity for our walking pleasure.

A Bit of Shade

These 'trees' are meant to add a little shade to the boardwalk...or maybe just a bit of flair. Nice shot from Jackie.

This skyline shot is from the new boardwalk. It's really changed in the last few years.

Perfect Spot for Spectators

Lots of people sailed right up to see the Blue Lapis Light performance. And, yes, the dancers arrived by boat to their positions as well.

Hanging on the Highway

This Blue Lapis Light Dancer performs on a column supporting IH35. This was part of the boardwalk grand opening celebration. You can see the Monarch, 360, AMLI on Second, the W and the Ashton in the background.

Let's do the Boardwalk!

Austin's big boardwalk project is coming along fine. We are anxious to give it a try.
