Our Home...As a Postcard

Every once in a while we have to have our building (the 360 Condominiums in the center here) appear on this blog. The roses blooming on the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge (in one of the little 'gardens' maintained by volunteers) make for a nice postcard look, don't they?

It's Coming Back

The iconic Austin postcard mural is coming back to the wall of Roadhouse Relics on South First. We showed you some people getting their picture made there the other day in its deteriorated state and here it is over four years ago.

Speaking of heights -- I took this sunrise photo of some construction cranes from our balcony the other day.  Downtown Austin is a much different scene than it was when I was a kid back in the fifties --  and the building spree is continuing.

Hotel Rising

On Congress a very large hotel is being built, the new JW Marriott. A couple of weeks ago the skin climbing on the Brazos Street side reflected the clouds

Our Parents Drink Coffee

This fine looking array of dogs waited patiently on a hot day in July while their owners had coffee and snacks at Cafe Medici on West Lynn.

One day the fluffy clouds provided such a nice backdrop that I just couldn't resist snapping this picture from the Drake (South First) pedestrian bridge.

Walking east on the trail on the north shore of Lady Bird Lake we spied this Great Blue (I believe) surveying his domain.

Saturday in the Park with Dogs

Lots of people were playing with their dogs on Auditorium Shores on a recent Saturday.  Here you see a group of them, urging their pooches to go fetch balls in the water.

Reflections of the Boom Town

Thanks to the clouds and ripples in the water, an interesting reflection of the tall buildings downtown was ripe for a photograph on a recent morning.
