A B C D E F G ...
Kinda busy today doing random non-blogging stuff. But here's an ABCs treasury I made. I came up with the idea because the song is pretty much stuck in my head ALL DAY LONG! That's what I get for having pre-schoolers, and teaching them to sing. :)

Smells like spring! Aaaachoo!
It's supposed to rain for the rest of the week, which I guess is why yesterday all 10 of my closest neighbors cut their grass. Now the whole neighborhood looks beautiful and neat and the air is full of the smell of fresh cut grass! Achoo!!! Okay, so while I do in fact love the smell of fresh cut grass, I am totally allergic to it. Yesterday was spent nursing a bottle of aspirin, with all the windows closed in an attempt to keep the offending allergens outside. It didn't really work, it never does. On the upside, since everyone just cut their grass, I won't have to worry about it again for another week or so. :) So here's to that beautiful green stuff, that for some reason we seem to like to have around our houses! Enjoy! :)
And the Green Grass Grew All Around
There was a hill, in the middle of the woods,
The prettiest hill that you ever did see.
Well, the hill’s in the woods,
And the green grass grew all around and around.
And the green grass grew all around.
And on this hill, there was a tree,
The prettiest tree that you ever did see.
Well the tree’s on the hill,
And the hill’s in the woods,
And the green grass grew all around and around.
And the green grass grew all around.
And on this tree, there was branch,
The prettiest branch that you ever did see.
Well the branch on the tree,
And the tree’s on the hill,
And the hill’s in the woods,
And the green grass grew all around and around.
And the green grass grew all around.
And on this branch, there was a twig,
The prettiest twig that you ever did see.
Well the twig’s on the branch,
And the branch on the tree,
And the tree’s on the hill,
And the hill’s in the woods,
And the green grass grew all around and around.
And the green grass grew all around.
And on this twig, there was nest,
The prettiest nest that you ever did see.
Well the nest’s on the twig,
And the twig’s on the branch,
And the branch on the tree,
And the tree’s on the hill,
And the hill’s in the woods,
And the green grass grew all around and around.
And the green grass grew all around.
And in this nest, there was an egg,
The prettiest egg that you ever did see.
Well the egg’s in the nest,
And the nest’s on the twig,
And the twig’s on the branch,
And the branch on the tree,
And the tree’s on the hill,
And the hill’s in the woods,
And the green grass grew all around and around.
And the green grass grew all around.
And on this egg, there was an bird,
The prettiest bird that you ever did see.
Well the bird’s on the egg,
And the egg’s in the nest,
And the nest’s on the twig,
And the twig’s on the branch,

The prettiest feather that you ever did see.

And the wing’s on the bird,
And the bird’s on the egg,

Walking in a Winter Wonderland!
Well our winter wonderland melted away in the rain on Saturday, but I've heard some of you out there in the middle of the US have got quite a bit of snow left on the ground! :) I personally wish there was snow on the ground around here from Christmas till Easter, but (as I might have mentioned) most of my family and friends think I'm crazy! So to keep your spirits up even in the deepest snow, here is a song bringing to mind the nicer parts of have a white winter!
Winter Wonderland was written in 1934 by Felix Bernard and Richard B. Smith. It has been recorded many times by many different people, though I must admit my favorite version is in the sequel to the cartoon Frosty the Snowman called Frosty's Winter Wonderland. So here we go, a wintry wonderland of Etsy goodies! Enjoy! :)
Have a great day everyone! :)
P.S. If you want to see all the snow we got around here (before it melted), check out my Flickr!

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland.
Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song,
As we go along,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
When it snows, ain't it thrilling,
Though your nose gets a chilling
We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
Have a great day everyone! :)

December 23 - Silver Bells
Ahh! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I'm not done shopping yet!!! I guess this is going to be a REALLY short post! :) Silver Bells was written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans and first recorded by Bing Crosby and Carol Richards in 1950. I have always wanted to go Christmas shopping in the city and see all the decorations and store displays, but that will remain, once again, on my wish list for next year. I do see quite a bit of shopping in my future, but I believe it will be at the local Target, rather then in New York City! :)
See you on Christmas Eve! :)
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks,
Dressed in holiday style,
In the air, there's a feeling of Christmas.
Children laughing,
People passing,
Meeting smile after smile,
And on every street corner, you'll hear.
Silver bells! Silver bells!
It's Christmas time in the city.
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring.
Soon it will be Christmas day!
See you on Christmas Eve! :)
