Bare Trees and Falling Leaves

Busy weekend! The craft show on Saturday went pretty well. It was so much easier setting up at a show where we didn't have to provide the tables or a tent! Here's a pic of our table.



You can click on the picture to see more pics of the table on Flickr. I still have yet to unpack completely, but that's mostly because yesterday was spent raking all the leaves out of our yard.

Now I have to preface the rest of this post with this picture.



This was my last house. It had a big yard, but notice there are no trees. I haven't had to rake any leaves in seven years. Yesterday, my husband and I raked leaves for 2 hours! Then I had to stop and he took another 45 minutes to finish! Here is a picture of HALF of the leaves we raked up!



Now it was the most beautiful fall day we've had in a long time and it was fun to get out and watch the kids jump in the leaves. I also know it was good exercise and I did need to get out of the house, but I am sooo sore today! I am so glad we have mostly maple trees, because I think we might be able to get away with not raking again this season! :)

Anyway, the other nice thing about spending all that time outside, was it gave me a nice idea for a mini treasury! So I hope you enjoy it, the theme is empty trees and red leaves!

Crazy Busy!

It has been nuts around here! But I am getting sooo much done! :) Everyone is finally healthy again, and the packing is almost complete! We were going to move this weekend, but we didn't quite get all the painting done. So instead, we will be moving next weekend (the first week in February). I can't wait! I'll post some before and after pics of the house once we've moved in. :)

Update!

Well, we are finally done with the stomach flu, thank goodness!! Of course now my kids have a cold of some sort, but I'll take that over the flu any day! I've been getting a good amount of packing done at the current house, and we are all set to finish painting the new house this weekend. I am hoping that we will be able to move next weekend! It's very exciting, I'm so happy that we will be closer to everyone (and everything), including both sets of grandparents. :) On today's list of things to do is finish packing the dining room and go through all the baby clothes and see what I want to bring with us. Wish me luck!

Good news and bad news

So the good new is: WE CLOSED ON THE HOUSE!!! :D I am soooooo happy! We'll be painting this weekend and if we get it all done, we can move in next weekend!!! :D The bad news is we closed Monday and the reason you are just hearing about this now is my whole family is just now getting over a very nasty stomach flu. YUCK! Luckily the kids didn't get it that bad, but it laid my husband and I flat! I was almost afraid we wouldn't make it to closing, but luckily my husband I didn't get sick till Tuesday. Anyway, in summary we got a house! And the flu is NOT fun. I'll keep you updated!

We interrupt this regularly scheduled blog...

...for a special news update! We are closing on our house this Friday! :D :D :D I just got an email about it this morning! I can't believe it, we are actually getting our first house!!! :D Originally we didn't think we'd be closing till the middle or end of the month. This is great news, except for the fact, that I haven't started packing yet! Ahhh!!! Okay, okay, it isn't that bad. I did start some packing, but I guess I need to get my butt in gear and [dun Dun DUN] get off the internet for awhile. :( Well, sort of. I couldn't give the internet up cold turkey if you paid me, but it does mean, that I'm going to put my Etsy shop and my blog on vacation, at least until we get settled at the new house. That will probably be 2 about weeks (hopefully). I'll still be doing some micro-posting (most likely), but no features or themes until after the move. :( So until then, have a great January and I'll see you in the future!

Two missed in one week, new record!

Well obviously I missed yesterday's featured seller. And it looks like I'm going to have to bump today's Saturday Selections to Sunday (so I guess that's really three I missed). But I have a good reason...the seller accepted our offer on the house we were looking at!!! :D So now we just have 3 agonizingly long business days to wait until we are officially under contract! I'm so excited! :) So now I have to start thinking about packing and moving and painting the new house. Not that I'm complaining, per se, but I have no idea why I thought house hunting right before the holidays was a good idea! I can't believe I'm going to be packing my whole house and decorating for Christmas all at the same time! Wish us luck!

Okay then...

So apparently at least once a week something comes up where I am unable to post my featured seller. Sigh... Today's crisis involved us house hunting. We are bidding on a house and trying to get all kinds of paperwork in order, and it's driving me crazy! :) I don't want to jinx it, but so far it's going well. So hopefully my next "I didn't get a chance to post" post will be something along the lines of "Yay! We got the house!" :) So anyway, assuming nothing really good or really bad happens before tomorrow morning, I should have today's seller posted for tomorrow.

Another Mini Update

I haven't had a lot of time to update my shop lately, as my husband and I have been looking at houses. We are actually in the process, of starting the process, of bidding on a house we like, and I would just like to say, that house shopping and everything that it involves, TAKES FOREVER! It's been a whole week since we looked at the house and decided we wanted to bid on it, and we haven't even been approved for the mortgage yet! Well at any rate, hopefully we'll get the mortgage part settled at the beginning of the week, then put a bid on the house. Keep your fingers crossed that, if we get to the bidding part before someone else does, they accept our offer! :)

In crafting news, I promise you (and me) that I will get my sushi rolls posted this week! :) I also need to finish that Hufflepuff ornament that I started FOREVER ago. Okay time for bed.
