Yes we have no Bananas!
We have no bananas today! Because we have run out, yet again. Kids are still sick, but I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's either that or an oncoming train, we'll have to wait and see. :) In the little computer time I had yesterday, I managed to at least get a treasury put together.

Orange you glad I didn't say banana?
In non-silly news, I stayed up WAY to late last night, enjoying the quite that really only exists in this house when everyone is asleep. :) But it turned out that I picked an excellent night to be up late, because my starfish was featured on the front page! :DSailing by jennyndesign
This is the first time one of my items has ever made the front page! :D I was so excited! :D I had my first treasury that I made, make the front page this month too! July has been a pretty good month, except for the kids being sick. :) Anyway, I have some Etsy posting to work on today, if the kids will let me. Have a great day! :)Friday, June 18, 2010
Happy 5th Birthday Etsy! :)
Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday dear Etsy!
Happy Birthday to You!
Today is Etsy's 5th birthday and in their honor I have put together a Happy Birthday mini treasury! I've been on Etsy for almost a year and I love it! I wish them much success and happiness in the future! Thanks for all you've done for us and keep up the good work! Enjoy!
Oh and I almost forgot! One of the items in this mini treasury is something from long ago in Etsyland (all the way back from 2007!)! Were any of you around back then? Or have you been here even longer? Let me know in the comments! :)
I hope everyone has a happy day! And for all of you who are going, enjoy the Etsy Craft Parties tonight! :)

Too much yum!
Last night, while I was at the grocery store, I randomly decided it would be nice to call my husband and ask if he wanted me to pick up a snack for him. He answered quickly, "Yes! Something decadent!"
"Okay, ummm...you want to be a little more specific?"
"Nope."
"Okay then..." So I wandered around the store trying to find something 'decadent' for my hubby. I wasn't sure what exactly I was looking for until I found the cinnamon rolls. "That's it! That's what he wants! Well, that's what I want anyway, I'm sure he'll approve of my choice!" :)
Of course it ended up being exactly what we both wanted. Who doesn't like ooey-gooey cinnamon buns topped with thick, sticky white icing? This does however put me in a unique situation. I've just eaten a cinnamon roll and I'm totally content. I even have another one to eat tomorrow morning (well this morning after I post this) because there were four in the box! This means I can safely browse Etsy for sinfully delicious looking cinnamon roll items without getting a major foodie craving for them! So that's what today's theme is going to be! :)
(I apologize to all of you who don't have cinnamon rolls waiting in reserve.)
Have a sweet day! :)

Grrr...
I have been trying all day to get on Etsy and the site keeps freezing up! :( It was slow yesterday, but today I am barely even able to get my shop page to load! Well hopefully it gets sorted out soon. I was able to go on long enough to post that I was having a problem in the forums. I saw a bunch of other people were having the same issue. Hopefully it's up and working soon. I'll try to get my post up soon, but it might have to wait till tomorrow again. Sorry. :(

Okay, I admit it...
...I've been slacking off. Well I would have been if I wasn't so busy! I got a bunch of cleaning done this week + I have half of my special orders done and posted! But I have been neglecting my blog. Bad blogger! No cookie for you! Anyway since it's rainy (or at least gloomy) today, I can focus on finishing my special orders and getting a blog update ready for tomorrow. :) I guess since I have a minute I'll give you a quick update of what I've been up to.
First, I did a special order striped fish and had a bunch of blue swirly clay left over, so I made another starfish magnet!
One of the pieces I took new pictures of was my beehive pincushion. If you've been following me for awhile, you might remember the during pics from this piece waaaaaay back in August of last year! It took me a little while to figure out how I wanted the finished piece to look. I decided to go simple instead of adding to it. So here it is!
Since my kids have been outside in the gorgeous weather lately, I've also been working on my sewing. I started on a new pincushion.

It's a log! Well it's going to be a log. Right now it looks a little strange. I think for the pins I'm either going to do three mushrooms, or a mushroom and some bugs. I'm not sure if it will be all brown, or if I'm going to sew some moss onto it. We'll have to wait and see. :)
The other piece I'm working on is a Harry Potter shield ornament. It's the Hufflepuff house shield. And for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I've included a picture of the actual shield (minus a couple of slices that I cut out). You can see the whole shield, without the cuts, here.

Once again, I have been working on this one for a long, long, long, long, long time! This one has given me quite a bit of trouble, but I'm almost done! Just have to finish the lettering and a couple other small details. I had done a Gryffindor ornament first, but that one only took a week or so to finish.
So that's what I've been up to. Plus cleaning, and watching the monkeys...I mean children. :D Hope you've been productive lately. Have a great day!

Pale Blue Mottled Starfish Magnet
I think he turned out cute. I have another fish to make today in pink, so he might end up with a sister. :) What else have I been doing? Oh, I took a bunch of pictures of my stuff and my brother Tony's (DigitalMushroom) stuff. I'm not sure when he's going to post his new pieces though, since at the moment he's finishing up his senior year at Rowan University. But I'm sure once he's done with school, he'll have a lot more time to work on his shop! :)One of the pieces I took new pictures of was my beehive pincushion. Beehive Felt Pincushion with three Honey Bee Pins
I like the bees. :) They came out cute! Though I noticed while I was fixing the pictures, that I forgot to give them stingers. So I guess they are pacifist bees. :)Since my kids have been outside in the gorgeous weather lately, I've also been working on my sewing. I started on a new pincushion.

As promised!
I am in fact too busy for an actual post. :P But I do have one all ready to go for tomorrow! We are still working on potty training with mixed results, and I have gotten through 3/4's of my special orders! Yay! So just so I don't feel like I am totally neglecting my blog, here are some of the pieces I just posted in my shop!

I hope you have a great Easter! See you tomorrow! :)
**Update!**
Just sold most of these pieces! (That was fast!) So I reposted the nest and the pansy. Let me know if you'd like me to repost anything else!
Spring Bird Nest with Robin Eggs Magnet
This one is reserved, but I can easily make another one (and I'll be reposting it after it sells!). The next one is something for those of us with too much rain in our life at the moment.Rainbow in the Clouds Polymer Clay Refrigerator Magnet
And lastly, one I am particularly proud of:Purple Pansy Spring Flower Polymer Clay Refrigerator Magnet
I couldn't figure out how to do this one at first, but once I did, it became incredibly easy! :D So I am going to repost this one as a design your own with custom colors, after this one is sold.I hope you have a great Easter! See you tomorrow! :)

Hello! :D
Okay so it's taking me WAY longer then I thought to get organized after the move. But I think I finally have all the boxes of my craft stuff and office supplies in my office area. Moving wouldn't have been so bad, if we had been able to do it all in one go. But since the snow had other ideas, we only got 80% of our stuff on the actual day we moved. The rest was in "storage" till we could go back and get it. Of course the 20% we didn't get to move included ALL of my crafts and Etsy stuff. But luckily we are getting to the end, and there is probably only two more trips with our minivan left before we are DONE!. Hopefully by the end of next week, or the beginning of the week after that, I will have my Etsy site up and running again. :) So, in honor of me finally finding the boxes with my sewing stuff in them I am going to do a "Hello & Welcome" post!
Enjoy! :)
Have a great day! :)

Okay, I'm adding one to the list.
Yesterday I decided that since I had some free time, I would start getting today's post together ahead of time. Good idea right? Well apparently not so much... You see one of the cool things about Wikipedia, is also one of things that can make it a pain to use: it is always changing! People update it constantly, honing its facts, adding information (and even whole articles), and then moving them, or taking them down depending on their accuracy and relevance. Well, yesterday when I looked at the New Year's resolutions article, one of the bullets points was "Keeping an updated journal." I thought that was appropriate as I think it would also apply to blogs, so I chose that point to use as today's resolution. I then went ahead and picked out the pieces I was going to use, so today I would only have to type up the beginning part. Yay for being on top of things! However, upon returning to wiki to add the link to today's post, I have discovered that the bullet point I was using is gone! I guess the powers that be (or the really bored person who was up last night) decided this particular point was not referenced right or something and removed it from the list. :(
However, I stand by my decision and will continue on with today's theme, mainly cause it's done already, but also because as a blogger, I think it is an excellent idea for a New Year's resolution! :D So if you are like me and have trouble updating your blog or journal regularly, then you should check out these lovely blank notebook journals from Etsy. Maybe their uniqueness and simple beauty will inspire you to write more! :)
Have a successful day! :)

A Wise Man Once Said...
... a penny saved is a penny earned. In my youth, I wasn't very good at saving money, because back then it didn't seem very important to me. I mean, what would I have saved my money for? My parents pretty much paid for everything, so it came down to, do I want to by that candy bar now? Or should I save up for the new video game coming out? Not a lot of motivation to save money there.
Now that I'm older, I have kids, I have bills, my husband and I are buying our first house, and now saving money is not only important, but 100% necessary! I'm a mature adult now (well most of the time), and my spending habits have improved greatly, but that's not because I wanted them to, it's because if they didn't I would still be living at my parents house! So while I have figured out how to save money like a responsible adult, I still think I could use a money saving attitude adjustment. ;)
So today's resolution from the list is: Saving Money. If you are having problems saving money because you like to shop too much, this is probably NOT the right blog to be reading. But, if you maybe got a little bit of extra money for Christmas (or Hanukkah, etc.) that you were told to spend on something for yourself, then go right ahead, and check out today's "money saving" finds!
Have a thrifty day! :D

I've decided something...
... It is much harder to get stuff done on my blog, when my husband is home. It's not his fault per se, I just don't seem to be as motivated to be online, when there are other adults around to talk to. But enough with excuses, on to today's theme! I was thinking yesterday about New Year's resolutions. I normally don't make one, because I generally don't end up keeping them. But that did get me thinking about what the most popular resolutions are. I found a list on wikipedia (one of my most favorite places to surf besides Etsy) and thought, "Hey, these would make a good set of themes for my blog!" So that's what I'm going to do. For the next week or so, I'm my blog's theme is going to be New Year's resolutions! Have one that's not on the wiki list that you'd like me to try? Post your idea in the comments section, and I'll see what I can do. ;)
Today's resolution is one that my husband is always on my case about: eating more fruits and vegetables! According to the United States Department of Agriculture's food pyramid, the average adult needs between 2 - 3 cups of vegetables and 1-1/2 - 2 cups of fruit a day (depending on age, weight, etc.). Fruits and vegetable contain essential vitamins and minerals not found in other foods, plus valuable fiber that helps our bodies run properly. I know I don't get enough vegetables and most days I tend to just barely sneak by with enough fruit. So if you are like me this might be a good time to resolve to eat more of these two neglected food groups! Enjoy these yummy looking examples of healthiness, while you think about how you can fit some more of them into your diet!
If you are stuck for ideas on how to fit more fruits and veges into your diet, check out The World's Healthiest Foods. They have a bunch of really yummy, free recipes, using foods that give you the most nutritious bang for your buck! My favorite so far is the Garlic Shrimp Salad with asparagus, tomatoes, and goat cheese! Now that I've made myself hungry, I think I'll go have an apple! Have a healthy day! ;)

My Feet Are Cold!
I was sitting here thinking about what today's theme should be, when I realized my feet were freezing! I went and got my slippers and as I was walking through the living room I thought, "Ooo! Tonight would be a nice night for a fire in the fireplace!" Then it hit me, my new house isn't going to have a fireplace! :( This may be one of the last times I get to snuggle up in front of a roaring fire for a very long time! So tonight I will enjoy having a nice warm fireplace to snuggle in front of with my sweetie, and today I will give a tribute to fireplaces! To all of you out there who have them, may they keep your toes toasty and your heart warm!
Stay warm everyone! :)
Stay warm everyone! :)
