Looks like we're set to roast up marshmallow-colored skies in upcoming MMOFPS PlanetSide 2. This new trailer boasts gameplay footage of the air combat, and -- okay, I'll bite. This is actually looking pretty sweet.
Just one thing, though. Ride of the Valkyries? Really? Come on. That may have been epic once -- a century and a half ago -- but these days I associate it with that time my WoW guildmates and I filmed ourselves riding wild ponies across Grizzly Hills' rolling, wildflower-dotted hills.
Anyway, embarrassingly cheesy soundtrack of choice aside, some of those air fights are looking quite impressive, and I look forward to dropping big waves o' destruction on enemies from my perch in the clouds. Though this trailer focuses on air combat, players will also be able to swap bullets across the sea. (Land, too, though I'm aware that doesn't sound nearly as heroic.) Given that this is an MMO, dogfights just may last days in this persistent world. Is there no end to the badassery?
