Meg's Garden Mini - Guest DT spot

Meg's Garden Design Team - Guest Project

Hi everyone, most of you know that I was on the Meg's Garden Design Team for quite some time. Meg's Garden is a unique online shop located in Australia.  It was always such fun getting those Australian packages delivered to my doorstep.  Meg recently created a new paper collection call White Flowers on Green and contacted me to see if I'd like to play with it.  Meg's collections come two-fold You can either opt to get the physical, printed papers, in your mail the way I did or do a Digital Download. When you purchase via Digital the collection is instantly available to you via your computer and you print at your leisure. When making a physical order be sure and really browse the store for Meg has some delightful things tucked inside.  Lots of cool embellishments, ribbons and what nots.

I decided I wanted to turn Meg's collection into a mini, there's a full post about it on the Meg's Garden blogspot HERE, I'm only going to give you a little teaser on my blog so be sure and check out the full article.

This collection combines lovely greens, blues and pinks with that irresistible feel of Victorian old world charm.  Something I'm sure to please everyone.  I had some issues with my mini album cover and came up with a new process for covering and strengthening the outside front, back and spine.  I'll be sharing that process on the video along with more photos and a complete walk through of the pages so I do hope you'll join me there.  The video link follows along with links to Meg's store as well as her other social media outlets.  Be sure and check out the new White Flowers on Green Collection.

Thanks for stopping by, Patti

Chantilly Cream Folio Mini Album

a Meg's Garden Design Team Project

Today I'm sharing a Tim Holtz small folio book that's I've altered into a mini album using Meg's Garden Chantilly Cream paper collection.  I've had this naked folio book in my crafty cupboard for over a year and I've pulled it out often and just couldn't visualize what I wanted to do with it.  When I got Meg's new collection I knew this was a perfect match between paper and folio.

There are six pages to my folder, some are small flips one is a six inch flip.  All are altered with fussy cut pieces from the collection and various trims, laces and flowers from Meg's shop.  I'll have links to all the products I used from her store directly below the video.

This folio provides numerous pockets and tuck in spots for photos, tags and memorabilia.  There are also oversize side mats that will house extra large photos.  Something for everyone.

Meg's Garden has a host of lovely flowers like the one above, I paired it with the belly band made of mesh ribbon with a crocheted lace laid on top.  Please see the video for numerous photos of each page.  I'll also walk through the whole mini page by page and share where I've hidden little spots to place your photos.

You can see the full blog post, with lots more photos, on the Meg's Garden blog post here.

Old World St Nick Christmas Card for Meg's Garden

a Meg's Garden Design Team Project

Today I'm sharing an Old World Christmas Card for the Meg's Garden Design Team.  I've used the Vintage Christmas Papercrafter Pack with Kraft cardstock to create a 5" x 7" card with a a matching box envelope.

Using Velvet Flowers and leaves along with Jute Ribbon was just the touch to dress the front of the card.

I fussy cut Santa from the paper, placed a hinge on him, hid a magnet underneath and created a great secret flip out to house the tiny tag and a special message.

To tie everything together I've used Art Deco Snow-Tex on the front, inside and back.  These little touches of snow make the whole card come together.

Please check out the Meg's Garden of Papercraft Delights store and the Meg's Garden Design Team Blog for lots of inspiration and products to create your Holiday cards, tags and what nots.  If time is short you can always purchase the digital edition of the papers to print instantly at home.

Meg's Garden Vintage Victorian Christmas Card

a Meg's Garden Design Team Project

Today I'm sharing a little bit of Vintage and a little bit of Victorian in a Christmas Card featuring both collections from Meg's Garden of Papercraft Delights StoreThere will be links to the products used from the store directly below the video.

I am in love with the old world look of these collections, use one or the other or mix and match them as I've done today.  This is a 5"x7" card with a Kraft cardstock base.  I added some Diamond Stickles on Santa's beard to give it a little shimmer.

Today's video will walk you through how to do everything from the collage background to adding the decorative flowers.  I hope you'll join me there.

Gift box, note paper and card

a Meg's Garden Design Team Project

Today I'm sharing a gift box, note papers and a card all made with luscious goodies from Meg's Garden store.  I had a gift set that I took apart, painted with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire mixed together they create a beautiful deep purple.  I added all the yummy flowers and extras to make it my own personalized gift.  I love these paper roses from Megs, especially the purple ones, and the pink and white gardenias went so well tucked in alongside.

On the note paper belly band I dipped a white gardenia into a watered down solution of the mixed distress ink to get this pretty purple/lavender to match the paper.  I tucked another of the acetate butterflies in.  To get the look the butterfly is floating you leave a tab of the acetate on when you fussy cut them from the sheet and score, fold and glue the tab behind the flowers.  I love how this looks.

All gifts need to include a special card and I took bits and pieces of the scraps from several of Meg's paper collections to make mine.  I know I'm evil and have only given you snippets of my project, that's because I want you to join me on the video to see the rest of it.  Thanks so much for visiting me, please take a moment to leave a comment and subscribe.

Forgotten Meadows Kraft Journal

a Meg's Garden Design Team Project

Today's project uses the beautiful new papers sold exclusively at Meg's Garden called Forgotten Meadows.  Kerry-Jean Watson is the designer.  Along with a Kraft Journal I found at Michaels.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Paints in Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves blended to create this pretty shade of purple that complements the papers.

Here's a shot of the outside including the Prima Lace stenciled back and the fussy cut butterflies that I've covered heavily with Glossy Accents.

The front closure are two Vintage Trinkets from Meg's Garden, the square bottom was adhered directly to the book front (I used Beacon's Fabri-Tac for a super strong hold).  The top was actually this piece that I scrunched in the middle, I used my bone folder to make the creases in each side.  I wanted the middle part popped up to create a handle when I glued it to the bottom piece.  I also put the fussy cut butterflies top and bottom of the handle and really covered them with Glossy Accents.  Be sure and set things aside that you use heavy coats of Glossy Accents on (overnight is best) to allow for maximum drying time and less stressful moments of wishing you hadn't touched it yet!

Front inside cover sports a slotted angle pocket for mats.  You'll see the whole process including more photos on the video below, I hope you'll join me.

The French Garden Collection Waterfall Mini

a Meg's Garden Design Team Project

This collection, The French Garden, isn't new to you, you've seen several other projects I've used it in, but some collections you just never tire of because they are so beautiful, this is one of those!

This is a 6"x8" book with a 2 1/4" spine, I used my Cinch to punch seven holes in the front and back and two sets of holes in the spine. Using a velveteen ribbon I laced the book together similar in fashion to a corset.  I love this look.  The front of the book are all bits and bobs of embellishments from the Meg's Garden Store.

Inside is divided into two parts, right and left.  On the right is a horizontal waterfall of seven pages, leaving lots of room for your 4"x6" photos.  On the left is a set of flip ups and downs.  In addition I added a pocket on the first flap to house a day planner, once it's removed the pocket will be able to hold an ample supply of photos, ticket stubs and various memorabilia.

There are so many places to place photos, either directly on the mats or tucked into any one of the various pockets I've placed on the flips.  Since I was so limited on large pieces of the decorative paper I added some coffee and tea stained paper which I inked with Victorian Velvet to tie it into the collection colors, worked great.

I hope you'll come with me on the video as I walk you through the mini and of course there are lots and lots of still photos to inspire you to create your own book.
