Think Fast Designs was the inspiration for this weeks Etsy Inspired Challenge Blog - Challenge #134. I choose this darling apron because the print made me instantly think of Cosmo Crickets line Early Bird, perfect for the challenge. I also used a chip board piece from Crafty Secrets, she had the right coffee pot what can I say?
Here's my card for the challenge:
I used Making Memories twine around the front mat
Don't ya just love that coffee pot? She's saying 'Always with a smile'
Kristine Werner is doing the 25 days of Christmas Cards on her blog. This idea came from her video today. I'm having a hard time getting the embossing to be as crisp as hers is. I'm thinking maybe it's the powder I bought so I'm going to hunt for some clear and see if it creates a sharper design.
I had seen a video where they embossed using tin foil
Since all I had on had was a roll of kitchen foil I decided to try it. It's pretty thin, heavy weight would have been much better. After embossing I lightly rubbed it with one of my cats eye inks and then buffed it a little so it settled mostly in the nooks and crannies.
The snowflake is a set of stamps I got, they're from Memory Makers. I stamped each size with Versamark on purple cardstock and then Heat embossed. When cutting them out I left an edge of the purple paper around the outer edges. I punched a hole in the middle, alternated the points and added a brad.
Love the look but want to try it again with the heavy duty foil. Someone said today you can use a pop can and emboss the inside. Hmmmm I'll have to try that as well.
Another piece of Clip Art from Art Explosion. The word balloon is a basic shape from PS, I used my Fiskars crimper on the solid background paper. The plaid is from a Me & My Big Ideas paper stack. Brads are from Memory Makers. The photos don't show it well enough but the background paper is yellow (DCWV) and I scalloped just the front bottom of the card so the yellow from the inside shows along the bottom.
