Graphic 45's Gilded Lily Card

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

Today's project is a 6x6" greeting card made from Graphic 45's Gilded Lily Collection.  I've used Kraft cardstock for the base and decorative papers from the collection for the mats and design elements.

You'll want to join me on today's video because not only do I have a start to finish for making the card but also a bonus tutorial on how to make the flowers shown above.  Well be making the one on the right.

So grab a cup of coffee and come join me for a bit!

Tudor Rose Card with Stephanotis Flowers

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

Today I'd like to share a card I've made using Spellbinders new Card Creator die, Tudor Rose Card Front.  I combined this die with Sizzix Susan's Garden dies, the flower Stephanotis.  Adding a lace rosette was the perfect nesting place for the three flowers.

The butterfly comes from the Sizzix BigZ die Butterfly duo.  It's duo because not only do you get the die which has two sizes of butterflies but also the matching Texture Fades Embossing folder.  I colored mine with an assortment of Tim Holtz Distress Inks including the new Cracked Pistachio.

The flowers were a little fiddly but I like the end result especially with the lace all sweetly tucked around them.

Check out my video for lots of ideas and a complete start to finish process.

Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms Flowers

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

Today I want to share another of my passions with you, creating flowers from stamps and dies.  The flowers shown above were all made with Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms and Lace dies and stamps.  I'm in love, how about you?

The end result of your flowers is hampered only by time and your imagination.  So share a little time with me and see how easy and rewarding it is to make your own custom flowers to fit any paper collection and any project you might have.

The look of your flower is changed by the way you shape and bend the petals.  I used the McGill flower tools but Cut at Home has a marvelous set you really should check out by Susan's Garden.  If you dampen the petal, pleat them and then let them dry before you unfold them you'll get the look of the larger cream and black flower shown above. Curve the petals downward with the ball stylus and you'll achieve the look of the pink flower on the left.

Simply changing the color or weight of the paper also affects the finished look of the flower.  I love adding these beautiful lace elements cut from the Arianna Lace die, it just gives a beautiful lacy layer for your flower to rest upon.

Join me now on the video and I'll show you how I created the flowers above.  Plus I'll include many more photos to inspire and spark your own creative flow.

Spellbinders Create-a-Lily Cards

a Cut at Home Design Team Project

This week I'm back with another flower card made with Spellbinders Die D-Lites Create-a-Lily dies.  I used Tim Holtz Wallflower paper collection for the base and inside of the card.  I wasn't sure how to do the centers so I pulled up Google Images and searched for Lilies, great inspiration.  Adding just a few metal pieces a stickpin and some lace finishes off the front of the card with room inside to write a personal message to the recipient.

Changing the color of the flower certainly changes the total look.  This time I cut the petals from pink cardstock, used a dark brown for the dots marking the petals and inking the edges with white pigment ink.  I used Spellbinders French Harmony die for the mat under the flower.  Dying white seam binding with pink distress ink gives just the right finish to the stem of the flower with room behind to tuck in a flower spray and stick pin from my stash.

These aren't something you'd want to make in mass production but the time you spend creating will be well worth it once you hold the finished embellishment in your hand.  Perfect for your cards, as I show here, or on any other project you might be creating.

Check out my video below to see how to make a yellow lily step-by-step.
