This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Rounded corners or Sharp Edges (ie circles or squares!) (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Looking back at my recent creations they've been mainly corners rather than curves, but if I really ask myself what I prefer, it's definitely circles. I like their softness compared to the harshness of a angle and I like the handmade quality of a shaped card. This Tattered Lace doily die is one of my favourites for circular cards because of all the lacy detail around the edge.

I like the softness of circles though I am a girl that loves symmetry.  I also love all the symbolism attached to a circle or ring.

Circles for me, I love things that are round, round flowers, balls, pom poms, dies and frames.

Elaine

This is a hard choice. I use both circles and squares, so my choice today is squares. It always depends on the image. This design suited square and straight edges.

Most of times I make square or rectangle cards with sharp edges, although I also love making circle cards. For my images I love using circles, because it is a softer look, so I combined those 2 options on this card. A rectangle/or square combined with may circles for my images.

For my card base I prefer squares as I find them easier for layouts but with my images I just go with whatever suits them best and these bunnies are definitely meant for circles.

Straight edges and symmetry for me so this was an easy choice.

I do like a nice square, I like the pleasing symmetry and straight lines

For me it is squares. I love all things square and straight.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Tip to demonstrate and share with others (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

My tip is that three is a magic number when it comes to composition.  For example, I've only used patterned papers on the top third of my card, there are 3 pearls, 3 layers to my snowflake and 3 loops of button twine behind it.  For some reason (there's probably a scientific reason) trios seem more attractive. For a bonus point, my second top tip is to get a head-start making your Christmas cards to avoid the rush in November!

My favorite ink is VersaFine onyx black.  I love the way it stamps a wonderful solid image.  I also love coloring with alcohol markers, but they don't play well with VersaFine, they tend to smear.  I have a tub of clear embossing powder that I use right after stamping.  It works great, no more smearing and also serves as a bit of a barrier to help keep you coloring in the lines.  It also allows you to stamp on vellum without having it smear.

My tip is to use Liquid Pearls to accent areas on my card. They are not too fussy but give a little interest and texture to a plain area. I also like them for the centre of flowers.

**coming soon**

My tip is to get everything you need together before you start your card. Papers, dies, glue etc. It's so frustrating, when you can't find that one die that would be perfect for your card but you can't find it...you know you have it and it's there somewhere......but where?!

My tip is to get as much use out of your dies as you can by extending them, where possible. This background die is a rectangle, but as it's the correct height for a square card, which I prefer to make, I have extended it sideways to fit.

My top tip is to choose your patterned paper before you start to colour, that way you can make sure you get the shades perfect. I always  have my chosen paper next to me at all times together with my colour chart and construct the card once the colouring is complete.

My top tip is to separate your layers!  Just because certain papers come together in one collection, it doesn't mean they should be used together willy-nilly as it can make for a confusing background and, in the worst case, trigger a headache for whoever is looking at it.
Either use a plain neutral layer, here I have used white, or a complementary plain colour.
These two papers are the same colour palette, but would be simply too much when paired without the white.

So now it's over to you.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Springtime Critter (eg lamb, chick, bunny) (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Anne
My favourite Springtime critter has got to be the bunnies. I love to see them playing and hopping around with their cute little white bobtails!

Although I love little lambs bouncing around in the fields, it's got to be the cute and fluffy bunny for my favourite Springtime animal. I love their cute floppy ears, especially this sweet little Thumper clutching his chocolate egg.

My favorite Easter Critter has the bunny winning out over the chick by just a smidge. Bunnies are so cute and soft and bring back fond memories of my childhood when I had a beautiful white bunny named Thumper (yes, like in Bambi).

My favourite springtime critter is the bunny. They are so cute and cuddly. We used to keep rabbits when my children were young. They were house trained and lots of fun to watch and cuddle. Fond memories.

I really love cute bunnies. I love the giant ears and that adorable fluffy tail, but I have to admit that all spring critters are cute. ;)

Little lambs, fluffy yellow chicks, bunnies.....love them all but this adorable bunny stamp just happened to be sitting on my desk - otherwise I might still be trying to decide!

It's hard to decide, but I do love bunnies. I have lots more cute bunny images than any other Spring cuties so that made my decision a bit easier.

Lambs jumping about in the fields, climbing on their Mums and being really brave watching me ride down the lane and then legging it at speed when I get close!!

Another tough choice!  I love Spring, the birds, the lambs, the chicks, the bunnies, they all make me happy, but, as we are so close to Easter, for me at this time of year it has to be chicks (although I am a little bit scared of adult chickens) with their significance of birth and renewal.

My favourite springtime critter is a chick. I love those yellow fluffy creatures, there are so cute. One day I would love to have some chickens of my own.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.
