for sunday postcard art this week the theme is "folk art." i wasn't entirely sure what to do with that, my light research suggested art that is typically practical in nature, also typically a product of unschooled/untrained artists, and also related to a particular culture. i still did not know what to do, but lots of samples i saw had flowers so that's where i started. and perhaps got carried away! then added some human images for (hopefully) added visual interest. maybe these women are the artists who worked with all those flowers...
flowers are from a retired miles beyond the moon digital kit called "paper flowers." the female images are from the lady diva kit from designs by aymara.
love to all.

Michelle your contribution to the topic of folk art is simply FANTASTIC. I love the brightly colored flowers and the silhouette of the African woman.
I was also not sure HOW the Themea was meant, as I'm sure many others...!? ;-)
Best wishes Katrin
Love this. Visually striking. Love the bold brights and the silhouette contrast. Awesome. Hugz
This image is really splendid, a feast for the eyes!
It feels good! Thank you!
An explosion of colours, joy and energy!
Dear Michele, I too had to do some research to make sure I didn't misinterpret; and until the end I had doubts, I almost did something completely different... Hahaha!
Until I found certainty that folkloric representations can be shaped with a form of mysticism or religion too.
It's true that, ultimately, it was a special challenge, and that's what made it great, actually, didn't it?
Works for me, I think it is beautiful, love the whole thing.
