tag tuesday flowers theme

the new two week challenge at tag tuesday is flowers, chosen by dear DT sister Pinky. here is my offering:

i used rubber stamps (flowers by all night media and butterfly on the right by hero arts) on a background paper by gecko galz. i used markers to give the stamps a bit of color, and added the words from an arthouse whimsy set.

i'm sad i missed the last challenge but i've been traveling a lot for work. hopefully i'm settled in at home now for awhile!
love to all.

mustard yellow, ICAD 17

the theme today for the "index card a day" challenge sponsored by daisy yellow art is "mustard yellow." i attempted to create the color i wanted using acrylic paint colors raw sienna and hansa yellow. i should have used more of the yellow. i swirled with my paintbrush a bit for more texture.

the rest is rubber stamping with stamps from hero arts (sun), 100 proof press (quote) and studios blackbird (dots).

enjoy; love to all.

grateful hearts

for moo mania and more "count your blessings," i've made a little moo (1.1 x 2.8 inches creation) in honor of the thanksgiving holiday, and the bounty of the harvest.

stamps (pumpkin and corn) by hero arts and background papers by gecko galz.

turns out i was too late for this challenge, i missed the deadline, but they have a new challenge now called "cuts and punches"!

love to all.

there is one more week remaining of the two week challenge to play along with the "trees" challenge at tag tuesday. i've stamped a tag for this week.

hearty moo...

the moo mania theme is "hearts" right now so i made a "hearty" "moo."  moos are approximately 1.1 x 2.8 inches.

i followed the same idea from the tag i posted earlier this week -- overstamping of several heart stamps (by hero arts) on a background by gecko galz and adding a gecko galz face.  there are a few enamel dots here too.

at moo mania you can make something other than a "moo" i like to take the opportunity to challenge myself to work in a small space.

love to all.

inky hearts

we've been asked to "get inky" at tag tuesday this week and that means stamping.  and since i'm still making little trinkets for valentine's day i made a tag of inky hearts.

the background paper forming the base of this tag is from the gecko galz "smitten" paper pack.  there are 3 heart stamps that i stamped and overstamped over the background, all from hero arts.  the kissing lips stamp at the bottom is from leavenworth jackson stamps company.  the face is from the face to face jewel it collage sheet by gecko galz.  true confessions: i had not intended to include the face.  i stamped a cherub stamp and totally flubbed the impression so i saved the tag by covering it with the face image.  looks kind of mysterious!

although i usually make "moos" for the moo mania and more challenges i am including this piece since the theme there is "hearts" and we are allowed to post any type of creation.  i'll post an actual moo later this week,

have a lovely week.  love to all.

sweet pea stamps progressive challenge -- november

the wonderful company sweet pea stamps is closing soon, on november 25.  at the sweet pea stamps friend and fans page on facebook we've been doing progressive challenges -- this may be the last one now that the store is closing which is very sad for all of us fans.

the digital stamp in use here is karen middleton's "shiny stuff."  i colored it with pencils and added it to background paper "butterfly garden" by gecko galz.  the stamps (snowflakes and sentiment) are from hero arts and i created the additional snowflakes with a hole punch.

please come back here on november 25 for the sweet pea stamps tribute blog hop! our last hurrah in celebration of the sweet pea stamps store.

love to all.

the latest sweet pea progressive challenge

i'm loving the progressive challenges that sweet pea stamps is hosting on its facebook page.  it is encouraging me to get out my many many sweet peas stamps and play with them.  for this third round of progressive challenges i am using a wonderful stamp designed by joanne schemp -- i have this one in rubber form.

i stamped the image on some background paper from gecko galz and also used some gecko galz digital designer paper for the card stock background.  i colored the stamped image with pencils, cut it to size and adhered to the card stock with the black and white paper already added.  the watery border is actually stickers and the "wishes of joy" stamp is by hero arts,

the way the progressive challenge works is that if you play in part two you are given a free digital stamp which you then use for part 2.  then a randomly selected winner playing in part 2 gets some additional goodies.  but everyone who plays in part one is a winner because we all get the free digi!  i can't wait to see what stamp our players will get for free for part 2 of this progressive challenge.

enjoy; love to all.

things with wings

sweet pea stamps are truly sweet.  i haven't participated in one of their blog challenges for awhile but i am this week -- "things with wings."  it is hard to find a stamp from sweet pea that doesn't involve wings!  i may have gone a bit crazy with the theme for my card though...

this gorgeous sweet pea stamp is by artist teresa sherman and is called "kissing butterflies."  i stamped her on pretty paper from the paper temptress and then colored her with pencils.  the butterfly border is a stamp from hero arts which i also enhanced with colored pencils.  finally the "you are so wonderful" stamp is from leavenworth jackson.  the card stock is covered in patterned tissue paper and that's pretty much it.  if i were a butterfly fairy this would totally be my look.

i'm also linking up to challenges at aurora wings (butterflies challenge), and "things with wings" at sentimental sundays and artistic inspirations.

love to all.

wishes of a sassy showgirl...

here is one last bit of inspiration for you to play along with the sassy showgirl challenge at lunagirl moonbeams.  the challenge ends sunday so there are just a few days remaining.  (and by the way there are some vintage showgirl freebies on the lunagirl blog if you need some to play with...)

i made an ATC with one of the lunagirl vintage showgirls but i also gave her wings from a lunagirl rainbow wings collage sheet.  the "wishes" stamp is from hero arts.  and some other good things i added too...

love to all.

all stitched up

i've really been in the stamping mood so to make my contribution for the tag tuesday "all stitched up" prompt i grabbed some sewing themed stamps from a hero arts set to make my tag.

i started with a green tag base, added some torn papers and then stamped several sewing images.  done!
yes it might have been nice if i'd actually taken out needles and thread and actually sewn something for this challenge but yikes, just couldn't do it.

love to all.

one last little precious one...

there is one week remaining for the "garden fairy" challenge at lunagirl moonbeams blog.  any creation featuring a garden fairy will do!  my last DT garden fairy inspiration for this challenge is from the lunagirl "little cuties" collage sheet with wings appended from the lunagirl "fly away home" collage sheet.  i love that her wings are so large -- they could carry her quite far across all our gardens to bring us wishes of joy! oh, and my wishes of joy stamp is by hero arts.  distressed design paper, flower and brad from my stash.

love to all.

cheerful stamp pad challenges are back!

welcome to 2013 and a new year of challenges at the cheerful stamp pad. the first two week challenge for this year is "white as snow" and you are invited to work with a background or palette of white.  use of snow is optional!

one nice new feature on the cheerful stamp pad blog is that you can see the next few challenges on the right hand side bar -- gives you the opportunity to plan ahead!

i decided to try a new technique from technique junkies called "white negative."

stamp credits: tree branch from inkadinkado; japanese script from mad rat rubber and peace stamp from hero arts.

our challenge sponsor this round is classy cards n such where you can find stamps, embossing folders, all kinds of bling and much more.  the randomly selected winner will get a nice treat from the sponsor.

i'm hoping for peace in 2013 so this is my happy new year card to all of you!  enjoy and love to all.

celebrate the new year with wicked wednesday!

i just recently learned about the ATC challenges at wicked wednesday.  this week the challenge, in honor of the new year quite fittingly, is to celebrate.
my fireworks stamp is by hero arts and the "celebrate" was a part of a word stamp kit.
i hope the new year brings everyone much to celebrate; love to all.
