A couple "Works in Progress"

I am participating in an ATC round robin swap where one participant in the group makes the background, one adds the focal point and the last person adds the finishing touches. At the end of the swap each person ends up with 3 ATCs that have been worked on my everyone in the group. This set of 3 ATCs in one that I added the focal point on, then mailed them off to the next person for the finishing touches. the next "work in progress" is a button book. It has allowed me to use a container of buttons that I have collected over the years of stamping and you'll notice I am really lacking on the black page. I had plenty of the other colors. I sure was happy that I had the special tool to remove the button shanks but I used it so much working on this project that it broke. I wonder how many shanks I cut off? Each page is 2-sided and is a different color except the front and back of the book. I am going to personalize those pages. Once I finish up the black page I need to use modpodge and cover the paper with another coat, then add the ring binding and attach lots of colorful ribbon pieces to the rings.

March inchies are finished!

I have been putting off making my March "building" themed inchies. I decided last night to "get 'er done!" so I started by looking through my stamp drawers and pulled out some stamps I thought would work. Here is what I ended up with.

Watching TV and stamping

I never watch the Amazing Race and turned it on tonight when I was stamping and realized there is a deaf guy and his Mom as one of the teams. I guess it will be a show I watch now! I made a couple Easter cards, some Magical Creatures ATCs for a swap and a birthday card for a friend.

My friends are enablers!

I am making some birthday cards this morning and stopped to check email. Check out this fabric Trish found! I am not sure what I'll do with it but I just loved it...now I have 2 yards on it's way.

Check out this BIG cup!

I was at Walmart today and at the end cap of the register was a display of huge cups...supposed to be used for planters but I wanted one to put on my stamp table for my "virgin" stamps just waiting to be used. I love the cup!

Inchie art for my son

I counted the inchies I had accumulated over the past several months of swaps and had over 200. Michael's has the shadow box frames on sale this week so I made some inchie art for my son's new home. I couldn't get a picture without glare :( If you've swapped inchies with me....you will probably see your little pieces of art here.

Finally got some more stamping time.

Here are a couple more cards I made for an upcoming swap round where we will be using "sketch challenges" to make our cards each week. I just need to stamp and color envelopes for the cards and they will be ready.

The image on the orange card is from WhipperSnapper. I ordered the stamp, "Pearl" and when I received it the rubber was a different image. WhipperSnapper was wonderful in replacing it and they even sent me the image to place on top of the stamp that was made in error PLUS send a bonus stamp, the flowers I used on the tree card.

I am taking a stamp class tomorrow title "Birthday Bash". I just haven't been able to get too many cards made lately...seems like lots of time has been spent with the kids.

A couple cards

I made a birthday card for a friend...I haven't added her name to the inside yet. LOL I bet you can guess who it is for! Here's a picture of the front and the inside. I also made a card representing the letter I for a swap.

I'm feeling better because.....

I felt like stamping! I made a birthday card for my daughter using a new WhipperSnapper stamp I just got. I also made a birthday card for a friend using an image that Jerri Sue picked up at the last Carson Convention and stamped for me. Then I took a little rest, ate dinner and made 2 more cards for an upcoming swap using card sketches and a pair of bead socks for my co-workers grandaughter. I am almost out of beads and only had enough clear beads to make a pair of socks. This is the first time out of the many pairs I've made that I've used colored crochet cotton and clear beads. I really think I like the colored beads better and will get some more once I get out to Walmart.

Blog changes....

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more I am going to be making some changes to my blog....this all started when I was thinking about applying for Copic certification. The paperwork asked for a link to my work. I decided to create a new blog for the cards, spinners, inchies and all the other great things I receive in the mail so if I apply for certification, or anything else where someone would be reviewing my work, they won't have to dig thru my blog to actually see my work. There is a link on the right side bar to the Art From Friend's blog and once I feel better I will start adding cards.
