Mail from the past few days

In the last few days I received my return inchies from a Polka Dot swap, and cards from swap pals Trish and Debi.

Jerri Sue sent me some stamped images she found at the last convention. I colored them last week and made cards last night. I LOVE this Paula Best image. My daughter phoned last night and wanted to know if I could bring her some cards when we visit this week so I made a batch of cards to take to her for her friends. I used the chevron punch to make the cards that Claudette reminded us how to make at the last craft day. It really is a nice quick card and I liked how the chevron punch at the border resembles a heart.

Craft day cards

I went to a local craft day today and we each brought cards for the others to make. My card is the sunshine slider, Claudette's card is the red chevron card, Carol's card has the large red flower and Terrae brought the Valentine card.

I came home to more great mail...a Valentine card from Joy and also her monthly inchies. The crown on the puzzle inchie is made from mini puzzles pieces. Very unique idea!

Wow, check these out!

My mailbox as full again! Jerri Sue's "All One Color" inchies arrived. I thought for sure she would choose pink, her favorite color, but she chose green and made some great inchies. Joy sent a late Christmas card.....a tradition she started last year and I love it! Lynn's Valentine card has hand piece quilt piece on it. It looks like she used a rub-on, on the button. It is lovely and I don't know if my camera took a good enough picture to show the great detail. Another fun Valentine card from Sheri. She knows I love funky birds and she recently got the stamp that she used on the Valentine. Cute card! And last, but not least, is a wonderful Valentine from Debbie. The card has three different folds, two of them flip out. The word Love is colored with a sparkly pen.

I had some fun last night coloring Paula Best images that Jerri Sue sent me. I love my copics!

Old stuff

I had someone ask to see pictures of a few of the quilts I've made in the past couple of years so here are the pictures I could find. I really need to do a better job of organizing my online pics.

Here's some more great mail...

A valentine from Claudette, Debi, Deanna and Anna. Anna also sent some really cute inchies. I am getting quite a stash of inchies again so it's probably time to buy another frame and create another piece of art for my entry way.

February birthday cards

I had several February birthday cards so I chose 1 design and made them all mostly the same.

If you've been thinking about buying Copics...now's the time

I just read a notice on the www.Oozak.com website - my favorite place to order copics and refills because they are so cheap! Well, it looks like other vendors have been complaining and Oozak is going to have to raise their prices or they will not be able to purchase Copics to sell to us. If you've thought about buying them, now's the time. The prices go up in early March. Hop on over to the site and check it out and get what you can before the increase.

Here's a copy of the message from the Oozak site.....

To our devoted COPIC customers -

We have upset the COPIC Gods.

On March 1st, the US importer of COPIC Markers is implementing a new MAP policy. Many of you may not know what a MAP policy is, let us explain. MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price. Basically, it's a policy that helps 'Level the Playing Field' when it comes to different levels of product dealers. Some dealers are able to buy cheaper than other dealers due to the amount or volume of sales per year. Many times MAP policies have 'loopholes' in them. The loophole in the COPIC policy was that 'Add To Cart' for pricing wasn't against the rules. So, naturally, sites like us (oozak.com) and Crap Diem (I know it's spelled wrong ;) are going to use the loophole. Well, that loophole has been sealed and frankly the COPIC importer is very upset with sites like ours, they are cracking down hard on violations.

We are not against MAP. Many companies and brands have a MAP policy. They do it to protect their reputation and to help Brick & Mortar stores compete with the 'less overhead' internet dealer.

What does this mean to you? Well, first & foremost it means that the COPIC selling prices are going up. It means we can't do 'TOO LOW TO SHOW - ADD TO CART FOR PRICE' anymore. It means if we or anybody is caught breaking the rules we could lose our buying privileges. It means starting March 1st the prices for open stock COPIC markers will be: Originals/Sketch - $4.87ea, Ciao - $3.22ea, Wide/Refill ink - $5.62ea. * * It also means we have until March to sell as many COPIC markers as possible at ridiculous prices! * *

I'm a little behind on posting....

Valentine cards are arriving and it is such fun mail. I received a Valentine spinner from Jerri Sue - Scooby Doo. She knows how much I love Scooby. Her spinner card reminded me of the Valentines we used to exchange in school. I just love it. She also sent me a Valentine card that I had seen on her blog made using a Paula Best stamp. I fell in love with the stamp and will be looking for it at the next convention. She had an image enclosed that I can't wait to use. It is an "art Fairy" with a crown. I am going to stamp it this evening and color with my copics. Linda also sent me a Valentine spinner that is wonderful. These are so much fun! Check out the cat eyes Linda has on the front side of the spinner. Awesome! and a cute Valentine card made using a die cut pocket with a pull out. Linda used my favorite stamp saying, "If you want to be happy all the time, stay in your pajamas and watch cartoons all day." Some other fun mail was Kelly's January inchies (always love mail from Kelly!), and a "gem" card from my swap pal, Debi, arrived in a decorated envelope.

My "H" swap card

Here is a card I made for an "H" swap.
