After Clare's children had been in school a few years, they insisted on wearing green on St. Patrick's day.  Turns out, when they didn't wear green on that day, they were pinched.  Not wanting this holiday to have such a negative association, Clare decided it was time to use another St. Patrick's Day tradition at home and made a St. Patrick's Day Banner.

Clare started by creating a Celtic inspired banner using Cricut Pretty Pennants and Paper Lace cartridges.  She welded the two images in Cricut Craft Room software and cut them in green card stock.
She covered some chipboard letters with Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive and used Green Gala Glitz for the letter "K" and "S".  For the letters "i" and "M" Clare used Green Vibe Dazzlers.  She also used Sherwood Dazzlers for the "s" in the rectangle.  For the harp below, Clare used a Silhouette file.

A Card for Every Occasion

There are times when you are in a pinch and need a quick card for something and then there are times when you have nothing to do, but create. Use your creative time to make this quick and easy cards that will wow everyone. This month, Art Glitter and Penny Black have teamed up together to bring more sparkling stamped fun to your creativity.

Supplies Needed:

From Art Glitter:
Fresh Green Ultrafine Glitter
Lemone Ultrafine Glitter
Garnet Ultrafine Glitter
Jet Eye Chunky Opaque Hologram
Black Wing Microfine Glitter
Diamond Dust Vintage Glass Glitter
Spoon Man!  Spoons    http://www.artglitter.com/retail/rtools.htm

From Penny Black:

Also Needed:
4- 8 1/2" x 11" pieces of white cardstock
A fine paint brush
A 1/4" paint brush
Tear Edger (optional)
Acrylic Stamp Block
Ruler

Begin by cutting the cardstock in half to create 8 cards that measure 5 1/2" wide x 4 1/4" tall. Carefully tear approximately 1/4" off the bottom front using a tear edger tool or just by roughly tearing being careful not to tear up the card front.

Stamp the designs from the Wishes stamp set by Penny Black onto the front.

Now the fun begins. Time to decorate! Use these simple ideas to add sparkle to any card.

Flood the centers in small puddles with of some with Designer Dries Clear Glue and sprinkle glitter or Black Wing Microfine Glitter over the puddle.

Using a small paint brush spread some Designer Dries Clear Glue into the petal areas and sprinkle with glitter. In this picture, you can also see how great the Black Wing Microfine Glitter looks after sprinkling it on over a puddle of glue. Be sure not to forget the stems! Run a line of glue down them using the metal tip and then sprinkle with glitter. Outline the edges such as the dots on this stamped image and add some glitter to bring out the image more.

Add special interest to the torn edges by placing a line of glitter along the back edge. Simply use a ruler inside the card to give you a straight edge, spread some glue using a medium width paint brush along the edge (I suggest doing one half at a time so the glue doesn't dry before it is glittered) and then sprinkle the glitter over the glue. Repeat this step for the second half of the edge. Use the metal tip to run a line or more than one along the bottom edge as shown in the right hand picture and add glitter over them.

Here are some close ups of some of my favorites to show you how great the details of these stamps are with glitter added.

This is using the Diamond Dust Vintage Glass Glitter on it.

These Baby Love Glass Beads are perfect for these small flowers.

The shine of the Crystal Glitter combined with the Lemone Glitter make this stamped image pop.

Now it's your turn! Start stamping and glittering so that you have a card for that next unexpected occasion. You can't go wrong when it comes to Art Glitter and Penny Black Stamps. They'll be sure to put a "wow!" in any occasion.

The Authentique Pride line is perfect for scrap booking the 4th of July, Memorial Day, and any historical site.  Use it to scrapbook those Statue of Liberty pictures.  And use the Art Glitter products for all the firework details!  To create the title, cut Art Glitter Sticky Paper with a digital cutter such as a Cricut or Cameo.  For this title, Cricut Craft Room Basics formed the word Lady, and Wall Decor was used for liberty.  Use a heavy duty blade in the Cricut with the red printed side of the sticky paper facing up.  Peel of the red sticky paper and sprinkle glitter over the sticky side.  Shake off excess and apply to page with designer dries clear glue.Get the look of a flag with the Authentic paper, and embellish with a circle of stars.  This circle was created with Cricut Craft Room software, George, Basic Shapes, and Independence Day.  It was then embellished with Timeless Twine.
To add the sparkle of fireworks, use the Art Glitter Fantasy Film with the Sizzix Tim Holtz Texture Fades Rays embossing folder for a star burst effect.  Just place three sheets of the Fantasy film inside your embossing folder and one sheet of parchment paper on top, leaving the embossing folder open.  Press with your iron for three to five seconds, close the embossing folder (leaving parchment paper in place) and run it through your embossing machine as usual.  By running the Fantasy film through the embossing machine while it is still warm with parchment paper in place, it will hold it's shape better and be less likely to tare.  Embellish the lines with Warm White and speckles with Showgirl DAZZLERS, using the Art Glitter Metal Ultra Fine Tip and Designer Dries Clear Adhesive.
And custom match your embellishments with Art Glitter's colored glitter.  This flower originally had brown stamens, and was custom matched to the Authentique Pride line with Art Glitter's  Dragonfly DAZZLERS.  What a fabulous blue, perfect for the patriotic paper crafter!  The Authentique embellishment is embellished with some mini pom pom trim.

Mixed Media With Georgia

The month of June, Art Glitter is partnering with Authentique Papers. The papers are so pretty and the addition of Art Glitter makes them POP! Use the code: AQ20 on your order at www.artglitter.com to save 20% on your order of $25. or more. Happy Shopping and hope you enjoy the month of Art Glitter and Authentique.

The Supplies I used were:
Authentique - Seasons Collection
D50- Baja Cove Dazzlers
#85 Crystal Transparent Ultrafine Glitter
#40 Ocean Ultrafine Opaque
#27 Navy Ultrafine Opaque
#513 Mediterranian Microfine Opaque
#521 Cayman Microfine Opaque
#612 Golden Glow Fine Vintage Glass Glitter
#822 Hiawatha Sm. Opaque Glass Beads
Dries Clear Adhesive and Ulrafine Tip

I really had some fun with this project, I"m normally a cardmaker, but at CHA the Faber-Castille booth used this book portfolio for their info. I just felt the need to alter this for my own use. I love the Authentique colors of yellow and turquoise used in these papers.
I picked the colors above because they represented a nice range of color to blend with the papers. I glittered a fes of the hexagons on the paper and then applied dries clear adhesive with a brush and just started adding the different colors and textures of glitter. Using the different papers I punched out 3 butterflies painted them with the adhesive and sprinkled them with crystal transparent glitter to make them POP. As you can see I added several embellishments to my project. I'm looking forward to doing  some more altered art adding elements of glitter. I hope you all have a sparkling day.

Georgia!

Heart of Fire - Faux Opal Pendant

Most of my glitter collection is made up of Art Glitter Ultra Fine glitters.  I love all the colors and the brilliant sparkle!  But I am absolutely mesmerized by the dazzlers and chunkier styles.  My project today encases Dazzler Glitter and Faux Snow in a resin to create a faux opal effect.

For this project I used:  Art Glitter Dazzlers - #62 Treasure (my fave!!), Art Glitter Faux Snow, Deep bezel pendant (from Metal Gallery), Lisa Pavelka Magic-Glos UV Resin.  UV Light (optional, but very helpful!),  Toothpicks.

Begin by adding UV resin to the interior of the bezel.

Spoon a little Treasure Dazzlers into the bezel.

Use a toothpick to mix the glitter and resin, adding more resin as necessary.  Spread the mixture evenly over the base of the bezel.  Be sure to wipe any excess off the rim of the bezel.  Set under a UV light or direct sunlight - 5 - 10 minutes.  Resin is set when you cannot dent it with your fingernail.

Add more resin to the bezel and spoon in a little Faux Snow.

Again use a toothpick to mix the resin and snow and spread a layer over the gold layer.  Make this layer a little uneven in spots so the the gold shows through here and there.

The glitter & resin mixture will be lumpy at this point.  Press it down a little so you don't have any pieces that stick out of the resin.  Wipe the bezel edges clean, and set under UV Lamp or direct sunlight.

To finish, add a generous layer of resin.  Use a toothpick to draw the resin out to the edges of the bezel.  It is self-leveling, so it will form a nice rounded, glass-like surface.  Use a pin or toothpick to remove any air bubbles that form before setting this layer under UV lamp or direct sunlight.

Once the resin is set.  Simply add a jump ring (or two) and put the pendant on your favorite chain.
