Happy As A Witch

Hi there! How's it going today!!

Hope you are having a super Saturday, (or a Sunday depending where you live or whatever day it is as you are reading this).  I am so amazed how fast this year has gone by so far. I am already getting projects ready for the Christmas holidays. I am working on cards, bag toppers, tags, dimensional flowers, gift card holders and some decor items.
Whew, I sure hope I get this all done by my deadline.

Speaking of getting ready, it's time for the next challenge

The sponsor for this challenge is Fabrika Fantasy

The prize -  3 images
The theme is always Anything Goes

Let me share my project and I hope it gives you some inspiration.

I decided to get in the Halloween mode and this witch was really calling to me. As I was coloring her I decided to make her a broom, and you know,
that is still the witch's main mode of transportation.
She is called Little Witch (and she is just old enough to fly, LOL)

Her broom was super easy to make.
Let me show you.

I started out with a strip of scrapbook paper 8" X 1 1/2".
Next, I applied some yellowish ink,  in a direct to paper mode, using Scattered Straw.
Make sure to ink both sides of the paper.

Next, I snipped the paper to resemble straw.
I left about 1/4" on the top (unsnipped) to use to place my tape.
Make sure your snips are pretty close together.
Apply double-sided tape to the unsnipped top area.
For the broom handle, I used a 6" bamboo skewer. I laid the skewer on the end of the snipped paper and rolled it til all the paper was attached.

Since most straw brooms appear to be sewn at the top area, I used some thin gold thread to wrap around the top part of the paper. I trimmed the handle so it didn't appear to be too long.

And there you are, a broom.

Fright Night

Hi Everyone,
Have you got your Halloween costume yet?? Picked up that candy for the trick-r-treaters?? Well I thought I'd share another Halloween card with you.

I just received an embossing folder of the witch and I embossed it on black paper and fussy cut it out. Attached it to the lime green cs, added glitter and used a darling stamped image of the pumpkins and a witches hat. That image and the sentiment are both in Sparkle N Sprinkle's set 357 - Halloween Spooky Window. I used a glitter border on both the black cs and on the lime green cs. Making that border was easy to do and easy to make straight lines. Just use the Tearific Tape, available over at Sparkle N Sprinkle. I also used  Spirited Green Glitter G1070 and Mystic Mauve Glitter G1005, and they have the best glitter.

Oh, that broom in front of the card, I have pictorial directions showing how to make it. Go over to  my techniques and tips page for the link.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon,
