Beautiful

Hi Everyone,
Hope your holiday weekend is nice. I know some are experiencing some bad weather, lots of rain and hurricane weather. Hopefully that will die off soon.

In the meantime, I would like to share a card with you today. I have no idea what this design is called and it's pretty easy to make and for the life of me, I have no clue where I got the dimensions from. I may have got it off of Pinterest, I will have to look there.

Anyhoo.......... here it is.  I like these kind of foldy, foldy cards.

The card stands up on it's own and is just a panel cut in parallel lines and scored and folded
Hope you can see that from the pictures. And wouldn't you know it, I stamped  the sentiment on crooked.Just my luck.

Here is another view (Yep that sentiment is crooked)

And finally a view with this card, flat.

This card is about 5.5" square, next I am going to try to make one that fits in a 5"X7" envie.
If I am successful I will post and give the dimensions.

Lovely

Hi Everyone
Happy Monday!!!!   I taught a technique class this past Saturday. Everyone learned how to make 3-D flowers using the flower shapes from the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Sizzix die. That die is my go to die for flower making.

I had some left over flower pieces from my class and decided to work them up and use them on a card to share with you. There are 4 different shapes/sizes on the die but I just used the smallest flower shape from the die to make these sweet little flowers. The greenery  I used is from a Spellbinders Die set.

The stamps come from Unity and are in the Layers of Life line. This set is called  "beautiful every little thing". This line comes out monthly and is automatically sent to you when you sign up. Love all the stamps in that line.

Here is a close-up of the small flowers I made and added to this card.
I used pages from an old book to make these flowers. I colored the paper with a few different colors of Dylusions Ink Sprays. Love that stuff, but it will dye your fingers. LOL

Have a great week.

Wintertime

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick post. This tag is using stamps from an older Unity stamp set, Wintertime Let it Snow.

While making this tag I decided to do this one in shades of blue.

Winter..... it makes me think of ice skating, snowflakes, snowmen and many other images that pop into my mind.

Snowmen are so cute and fun!!!

Here is a closer shot of that poinsettia. I just used silvery blue shimmery CS  for the main bracts and instead of green leaves, I opted for white leaves. Added some glitter and here is my interpretation of a blue poinsettia.

I used:
Dies - Spellbinders - Layered Poinsettias S5-055
Punch - MS Caning Pattern - Punch all over the page
Stamps - Unity - Wintertime Let it Snow
Inks - Distress Ink - faded jeans,
Markers - Memento Tangelo, Tuxedo Black, Bahama Blue
Card stock/paper - White CS, Blue Silver Shimmery C, Dark Blue, Blue Gray Handmade Paper
Ribbon
Sponge Dauber
Glue Pen
Glitter - Sparkle N Sprinkle Shimmering Seas G1082

I am entering this tag in the following challenges:
·         2 Sisters - W - #163 Anything Goes
·         Drunken Stampers - W -  Die Cuts

Beautiful

Hi Everyone!!!!
Hope your week is off to a great start. I thought I'd share a new card with you this evening. The image is from Unity and the artist is Angie Blom. Love the flowers and I decided to use purple on this one.

Love this great Unity digital image. Thanks Angie!!!

Here is a close up of those flowers. I decided to make them 3-D so I printed and colored a second set and manipulated them and popped them over the original image.

I also used part of a printed page from a book. I like using those from time to time. I also added a trellis and glittered it just to add more interest to this card.

One more close up. I cut out the trellis looking area to the side of the flowers  (part of the Unity image) and I used a Japanese Screw Punch to get into those little areas. I wanted to open that area up and I didn't want to have to use my x-acto knife.I'd still be cutting if I used that. The screw punch worked better for me. I used the glue pen on the trellis area of the image and then I added glitter. One can never have too much glitter can one?? LOL

Well that's it for now, see you soon, thanks for stopping in tonite!!!

Jar of Sunshine

Hi Everyone,
Yesterday I posted a cascading card and there is a funny store behind that card. I had made a card to be posted in yesterday's post and I was checking on the parameters of what my post was to include. Well it was to have unusual folds and have at least a double loop bow. I thought that the card I had just designed didn't fit the bill. So it was off to the drawing board to make another design.

I decided on a cascade style and thought I'd incorporate a lot of the elements from the original card into the cascade card. I actually very gently pulled the elements off the original card to reuse on the cascade card, cause time was of the essence.

Let me show you the card that I had originally designed: I had photographed it before I had determined I needed to make a different design. And of course before I gently removed elements.

It was just a traditional fold and I used a multi-loop bow, which would have been OK. But that traditional fold really was not going to work in the unusual folds theme. So that is the back story of yesterday's card and that post.

Let me mention this stamp set I used in both cards.I love this stamp set. As I mentioned yesterday, it is a Unity stamp set and it has some really cute elements in it.  The jar is really a nice size. But, I took creative license to draw in the bottom oval as it doesn't contain a defined bottom at all. I was very pleased how it just finished the jar.

Well time to get more projects done. Guess I'd better READ what the parameters of the card should be before I start on the projects. LOL

Thanks for stopping back in and I will see ya soon.

Cascading card

Hi Everyone,
It's Barbara here. WOW, March has arrived and.boy I love March because there are a few great things that happen this month.  Spring starts, St. Patrick's Day is celebrated and.... it's Nat'l Craft Month. Please try to stop in to check on all the creative projects presented by the super talented design team members throughout the month.

Let me share my project with you.

I decided to make a cascade card. I recently received a new stamp set from Unity and decided I would incorporate some of those stamped images in this card. These cards are really not hard to make, you just don't want to get sidetracked in the middle of measuring and cutting. The cascade card incorporates some really cool folds and I think that is what make this card so intriguing.

 Here is a front shot

Here is more of an overhead shot

Check out this close up of the double bow I added to the front of this card.

The Craft-Dee BowZ tool makes it so easy to make a double bow.Well I also think it makes it easy to make any style of bow. If you are bow challenged then you definitely want to add this tool to your arsenal

Did you notice the smaller bow I added to the jar lid. Made that jar look too cute.
Click here to order your bow maker.

These style of cards are hard to photograph, I think. So I hope you are able to check out the card and my 2 bows.

Well thanks for stopping in today and I will be back soon.
