Yappy Birthday

Welcome back everyone,

Are you staying warm?? Well it's really cold here in the northern part of the south, otherwise known as Northern, Kentucky. I was invited to a birthday party for a darling 3 year old and who would want to miss that, even if it is 16 degrees out.  The party was held at a local pizzeria and we all had a wonderful time. Logan, the birthday boy himself, got so many gifts I think he got more that he did at Christmas. LOL

Let me share with you the card that I put together for his 3rd birthday.

I had the stamp of the dogs in my stash but I wanted to add something else to this card. It needed some more personality. LOL  What would be more appropriate than a dog house. I hand drew the dog house and then decided to make the house look like it was made of wooden siding. I added the siding boards (yellow card stock) to the cutout of the doghouse. I layered the siding starting from the bottom, working up, overlapping just like you see on a house. I trimmed the edges and then I then added the house trim in dark brown and used a black piece to give the opening some depth. I attached the dog house to the card front with dimensional foam. The paw prints are stamped in VersaMark and embossed with clear EP.

The sentiment is computer generated as is the inside sentiment. Coloring of the dogs and the front sentiment was done with my Spectrum Noir's

Logan's mom, Morgan, thought this card was so cute and I am so glad she liked it. She is saving this card so Logan can look back on the card and pics that Morgan took, when her gets older.

Supplies used:
Stamps - Great Impressions
Ink/Markers - India Ink, Spectrum Noir, VersaMark
Clear Detail EP
Cardstock - Mint Green, Yellow (siding), Black, Dark Brown, Medium Brown
Dimensional Foam

Last Weekend's Travels

Hi Everyone,

Last weekend I attended a stamping convention in Sevierville, TN. The weather was great and warm and no rain. I hate driving in the rain. I hadn't been to Gatlinburg for eons and it has changed ( more crowded) but still the same with it's beautiful mountains.

This convention was a small one but packed with great products and super ideas. Saw the new stencils from Tim Holtz, and the new punch boards were being demo'd at the Marco's booth. The Paper nest Dolls had a vast array of rubber stamps available to purchase. I picked up a few new stamps and some great dies from the Stamp Doctor. Saw some familiar acquaintances and had a wonderful time with special friends.  This week I have been playing with some of the new things I picked up as well as getting ready for 2 classes I am teaching over at Stamping Buddies.

Let me share with you one of the cutest stamps I bought at The Paper Nest Dolls.I decided to use some dies to just add some depth to the scene in this diorama of sorts. The great thing about this card design is that it's totally able to be mailed in a regular envelope. Gotta love that!!!
