Memories

Hello,
Thanks for stopping in. Just a quick little card for everyone.
I spied this stamp a while back and have just got around to using it today.

Behind that stamped panel is a paint swatch in the pink range. I love the curved top & bottom on that swatch. .And those pieces are layered onto a red card.

I used red and pink sequins and pink pearls.

Kind of CAS, definitely not my usual kind of card.
I love the look of CAS cards but I usually don't make CAS cards,
I think mine always look naked.
But I think this came out nice.
Hope you like it as well.

LET ME SHARE WITH YOU THE I SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT

For You

Hello everyone,

This week I will be at Stampaway teaching 3 classes, assisting with another and working the Craft-Dee BowZ booth Friday night and Saturday. I have a post that is scheduled for Tuesday, but after that things will be quiet here at Art and Soul for a few days.

In the meantime, I made this card and thought I'd share it with you all.

I used colored pencils to color the digi image and used gamsol to blend the colors. Pearls and rhinestones accent the flowers.

The ribbon I used is actually a piece of white Hug Snug seam binding and I used Copic markers to color it to match the pink and green colors I used in the card

My March Project at Mema's Crafts

    Hi Everyone
Do you believe it, we are rolling right into March. Hope that means warmer weather.

This month at Mema's Crafts the sponsor is - Kenny K. There are a whole host of digital images on his site, Click here to take a peek.

I decided upon a cute little fish digital for my March project. After much thought and changing my mind a few times as to what I wanted to do, I decided on a "card in a box".

Let me share this with you.

    Season's Greetings

    Hello Everyone

Todays card is monochromatic with a splash of color. And of course it's a Christmas card. LOL. Since this card is cream and white, I used a red backdrop instead of a white background to showcase the detail of the card.

This card design came to be after using some of the dies from MFT DieNamics Blueprints #14. Have you used any of the Blueprints yet?? They're great, you can make your own card design, because you have many options (dies) in each set. I suggest that you cut each of the shapes out of white CS and store them with the dies. Then when you want to design a card, pull the shapes out, move them around and decide on your final design. Then cut the shapes out of the paper you want to actually use on the card.Easy and fun.

    Off to Paris

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for dropping in today. It's time for my ususal 1st Tuesday of the month post for Craft-Dee BowZ. This month the theme is pearls and lace, and I used the most gorgeous green pistachio colored  lace. I also recently received a Memory Box Eiffel Tower die, so it's "Off to Paris" for my project today.

Lately I have purchased a few stamp sets with a Parisian theme. If you are like me, you get one set, it has cool images, then weeks later you see another set with something else that peeks your interest , along the same theme of course and now you have 2 sets in that same theme, different stamps, same theme. Well needless to say I now own 3 Parisian themed stamp sets. LOL Maybe I need to take a trip there.

Let me share with you my project.

The stamps are all from 7 Gypsies/Hampton Arts and are from an older set that is probably no longer available. However the stamps are just perfect for my Parisian theme today. That Eiffel tower was cut using silver CS and I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the stamps.

The lace......... How fabulous is this lace. I have some more and will use again, hopefully soon. However I love it so much I just want to hoard it. I just want to look at it, and touch it. LOL I'm sure you know what I mean.

For this project I got out my needle and thread and gathered the lace right down the center. Next, I sewed a cream crocheted lace strip over the center. Then I wove the green seam binding ribbon thru various open areas in the crocheted lace. Next I made a 4 loop bow using the green seam binding and attached it to the end of the ribbon I wove thru the crocheted lace. And lastly I added a" ribbon candy" bow using cream seam binding ribbon to my fluffy bow. I felt I needed to break up all that green. Oh so yummy is that lace and seam binding.

The bow is made using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool. This is the tool that makes bow making quick and easy. Order yours today here.

    The Best Day Ever

    Hi Everyone,
Thanks for stopping by today. This month the design team at Craft-Dee Bow will be using digital images from The Graphics Fairy. You will definitely want to check out all the designers projects this month for their very creative cards and other ideas using images from The Graphics Fairy. They have so many cool images and I hope you check them out soon.

I am very excited to show you The Graphics Fairy digital image that I used for my card today.

This image shows a fairy looking out of the center of a flower. I thought it would look great to have the petals popping off the card.To get that effect, I printed the image 3 times. The first image is the bottom image and is just  flat and cut with an oval Spellbinders die. Next I fussy cut the 2nd image and using my Paper Blossom tool kit, I shaped the petals to have them lifting up. I attached that right on top of the original image, but I left the petals free so they would bend. For the 3rd image I cut away everything except the orange-ish petals, making sure to include the green base of the flower. I used the Blossom tool kit on these petals as well, giving them a bend also. Again I layered these petals over the same area on image #2, attaching just at the base of the flower.. This gives the look of the fairy looking out of a real flower.Let me show you a close up view.

I decided to use some greenery and twigs and I added pearls to look like little buds on the brown twigs and as accents with some rhinestones on the greenery.

My bow - was made using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool. Using a sheer ribbon, I made a triple loop bow and added a lacy butterfly over the center knot. The tool makes bow making so easy. If you have trouble making a bow, this tool is the answer to your prayers.

There is gorgeous lace as a border on the card and the vellum panel is embossed with a Spellbinders Floral folder.

That wide lace piece might be a little hard to see, it extends down under the greenery and its under the sentiment also. I layered another piece if crocheted lace on top of that wide lace piece.

Here is a full shot of my card for my May post for Craft-Dee BowZ. Hope you have a wonderful week. Stop in at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog next Tuesday to see Vicki's beautiful project using another image from The Graphics Fairy.

    The Bathing Beauty

    Hi Everyone
To all my new followers welcome and to everyone, thanks for stopping by today.

Have you ever started a card or project/design only to put it aside because you just couldn't get it all to come together. Well the card I am showing you falls into that category. I think I've had the card base for a year or close to it. Its a round step card and I added the round frame with smaller circles. I glittered the circles and then it sat ready for images and embellishments.

I had found the cutest image of a little girl in the bath tub, and as soon as I saw the stamp I thought of the card base, sitting, patiently waiting.

The next stumbling block was what else to add to this unusual card design. I finally decided I wanted to have bubbles floating in the air.

Let me show you how I made the background for the bubbles. What do you do with the plastic packs that hold a lot of the products that we buy? Throw that stuff away don't you. Well you may want to look at that stuff differently, now.

Here is an example of the plastic containers I am referring to. (sorry for the glare)

I cut the edges off and save the plastic for many different uses. This time I embossed a piece to use for the background.

It embosses nicely. Here is a sample for you to check out. (sorry for the glare)

OK are you wondering what this card looks like???

    Here it is:

Here are some a close-up of that embossed background.

Here is a close view of the cute stamped image.

This card waited so long to become finished, and it turned out really cute. Hope you enjoy it.

    A Little Bird

    Hi Everyone

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Just bought a cute stamp set from Woodware Craft Collection and it contains 3 different birds and 2 sentiments that work together. This is such a great set!!!

I decided to use a center step card that I had cut earlier today. This card will fit in a A-2 envelope.

The three different birds in this set all have circles on their bodies. So I decided to use an embossing powder just on those areas to add some visual interest. That DP I used in the center panel area, has some pink swirly areas and I just added glitter to give that area more definition and to catch one's eye.

I added some pearl swirls to the side panels which  picked up the swirl design on the DP paper and tied both areas together.

Love this cute bird set, hope you do too.

I am entering my project in the following 10 challenges:
