Wishing You a Merry Christmas

Hi there Everyone
Whew, its good to be back in blog land today. I have been busy with behind the scenes things, teaching classes and life in general. And we all know how life gets in the way from time to time.

Today I want to share a cute odd shaped Christmas card, and with Christmas getting closer, you will probably be seeing more Christmas cards from me. I know I have card classes slotted in October and November and the cards are Christmas themed.

Isn't this the most unusual shape for a card. I love it. I decided to use a Christmas/Winter theme on it, Hey, check out those designer papers, they are not holiday oriented. But I think everything works great together anyway.

This is a fun card and it certainly is a funky shape. When you open the card, the inside can house a gift card. This card shape can be perfect for anytime of the year,(gift card or not) but especially the upcoming holidays.

Here is a view of the card opened.

I love these odd looking card yet they are so so easy to make and it fits perfectly in an A2 envelope. You just have to love these kinds of cards

This card design is known as a Double Dutch card. And this design is super easy to make.

I thought the design would  make the cutest Christmas card. I know, I know we just entered September and I am already doing Christmas cards. Well the holiday season will be here before we know it.

LIIU Challenge #6 - Recycle It

This month, the challenge on Let's Ink It Up is "Recycle It". It just so happens I had saw something the other day and had saved it. It is the holiday packaging for the 12 packs of Diet Coke. It is silvery and has a snowflake and swirls on the background, which is the style that I really love. I set it aside on my desk, so, when I read the challenge for Let's Ink It Up, I knew what recycled product I was going to use. So, without further ado, here is my design.
    Products that I used:
    Stamp: Sparkle N Sprinkle
    Glitter: Sparkle N Sprinkle
    Coloring: Copic Markers
    Ink: India Ink Pad
    Red Cardstock:Pop Tones
    Snowflake: Spellbinders Die
    Punch: Martha Stewart
Silver Background: Coca Cola 12 Pack Packaging

I guess I am a pack rat. (Thanks mom). I see stuff and know it can be used later, this time later became sooner. And I love the packaging for the Diet Coke12 packs for this holiday season. Doesn't it look great on this card. Even the cans are really cool. Check them out the next time you are at the store. Also, the next time you see packaging for some product, really look at it. Chances are, it can be used on a card or some other project. Wait til you see something I will be using, sometime soon, from a fragrance package.

Well thanks for stopping by, see you soon, and leave a comment. I read and appreciate each and every one.
    Thanks,

    Barbara

I'm Back with 4 new cards

No I didn't die, just up to my eyeballs in things to get done. But, I did have time to get a few cards made, so without further ado, here are the newest cards I have designed.

The first card is a great card for your sweetie or it would make a great birthday card as well, just change the sentiment.

Here is a Valentine's Day Shaker card. Of course could you see this as a birthday card. I used Nestabilities to cut a circle and then used a corner adorner to achieve the corners and the red circle. The Shake It shaker pouch is from Impression Obsession. This little pouch is self adhesive and works like a champ.

This card turned out so cool. I stamped the image on acetate and glittered the image up.I cut the image out them actually glued it to a piece of acetate and then poped it up over the same image that I had stamped and glittered on glossy CS. I love the way the image is reversed on the top piece. It makes the lilies look like a big bunch.Used that corner adorner to make the frame.

Last but definitely not least is a beautiful rose image, colored with colored pencils and gamsol. Do you notice the small flower on the bow?? It is a new die from Sizzix. It's called 3D Flower. Love it. Easy to make and adds so much to a card.

Well that is it for now. I have to finish a project and I have a few new stamp sets waiting to be used.
Thanks for stopping by, see you soon,
    Barbara
