Just flutterin' by

Hi Everyone,

This month at Craft-Dee BowZ, the design team will be spotlighting projects using Fancy Folds. My card is just a few folds, some designer paper, handmade flowers, a doily and a few other embellishments.

Here is my card folded shut

Opened up

Here are some of my handmade flowers.

The Bow:
I made this bow by stacking the purple and blue ribbon.and used the Craft-Dee BowZ tool to made a double loop bow. After the bow was removed from the tool, I pulled the loops apart to give the bow a fluffy look.

Time to get your Craft-Dee BowZ tool out and make a beautiful fluffy bow.

Don't forget, the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge is going on all month.
The theme is "Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow."
Hope to see your project entered.

Memories

Hi Everyone,
Some of you may know that I love flowers and I have mastered making my own flowers from paper. I usually use what I call "stamp off paper" but I also have used scrapbook paper. Have you ever bought a slab of paper and some of the sheets are less than appealing??Me too!!! So,instead of throwing them out or having them collect dust, I spray the sheets with Glimmer Mist or Color Wash and change the look of those less than appealing sheets. After I do that I usually cut out flowers. I have a few dies that I love to use just for flower making. After manipulating and cutting, a flower is born or should I say, blooms. So, when I stopped by at the Art Impressions Blog and saw the latest challenge, Handmade Flowers, CHALLENGE 21, I knew I had to design and submit a card. So, here is the design I came up with. This was fun to design and I hope you like it.Well that is it for right now. Hope you have a great Sunday!!!

Guest Designer for Crafters Companion

Hi Everyone,
It's another rainy day here and the forcast is for rain all week.  Well you know what that means, time to craft and chase the rain away. (We hope.)

I just have to share this little bit of news with you all. I was chosen for the 1st guest designer spot for the month of May over at Crafters Companion. Isn't that exciting?!? They've posted a card I designed for Mother's Day using stamps from their company and there will be another card design that they will post later this month.

I used stamps from a set called Flower Fairies Zinnia stamp set. They also have other flower fairies sets and they are great too. Very detailed and very nice stamps. Check them out, I am sure you will find something that you will just love, like I did.

Well thats it for now, thanks for stopping by today,

Watercolor and Spring

Hi Everyone,
Spring is slow in coming, we are expecting snow tonite and up to 1". So........ lets think spring. One of these days we will be wishing for cooler weather. LOL.

Since spring is on the horizon, I made a watercolor that exudes springtime flowers. Art Impressions has the nicest stamps that make great watercolor scenes. So I made a beautiful scene, added handmade flowers and punched a great accent strip using a Just Imagine/Kreations punch. A little leaf ribbon from May Arts adds to those handmade flowers and here is the card.

Well, I decided to submit this card to this weeks Art Impressions Challenge #9 - Watercoloring. Hope you enjoyed this and I hope it inspires you to do a little watercoloring. Thanks for stopping by,

Click here to check out the post and learn more about some cool flowers... they will look great on that card you need to make, or maybe that gift bag or ..... you know, just about any project you are working on, and, best of all, they are easy to make.

Well that's it for now, have a great day and let me know what you think of these easy to make flowers.

Joan's Garden Challenge (JG0203)

Hi Everyone. Hope you are keeping warm and haven't received too much snow. Here in my area, it's just cold and the latest snow storm has gone south of us. I glad we didn't get any snow this time around. This weekend we are supposed to see temps in the mid 40's. Bring it on!!!!!

I thought I would enter a challenge from Joan's Gardens. The challenge (JG0203) requested:

1. Use Coral/pink and Green for your colors
2. A Birthday Sentiment
3. Vintage Paper
4. Handmade or Punch flower

Here is the creation I came up with.

I made my own flower and used what I considered vintage paper under the stamped image. I also thought a butterfly would look nice and that flower needed leaves so I used Spellbinders dies to produce those. The stamp is from Lost Coast Designs.

I love pink and green together, it's just so fresh looking, don't you think. These colors remind me of spring, and beautiful flowers and warm weather and open windows and................... well you know what I mean.

Well, I hope everyone is keeping warm and you know, spring will be here soon.
Thanks for stopping,
