March Stamp Club - The Challenge Card

Hi there,
Glad you stopped in today
Tuesday nite was the monthly stamp club meeting
We make 2 cards each month - a theme card and a challenge card.
Yesterday I shared my Theme Card. Click here if you missed it.

Today I want to share my challenge card.
Each month we are given something to use on our challenge card and the finished project is due to be presented at the next meeting. At the February meeting we were given a sheet of poster stickers to use on our card/project for the March meeting.

There are 3 strips on this sheet and they are about 16" long and 2" wide.
The strips are precut, wavy on one side and straight on the other side.

I used the strip kind of like Washi tape.
But I applied the sticker to card stock to make it easier to work with for this project.
I trimmed away the card stock on the the wavy side to match the sticker.
Since the stickers were too wide for my project, I trimmed on the straight side so the sticker would be abou 1" wide and  4 3/4" long.
I used 2 strips, added a few other items and here is the finished card.

I added texture using embossing folders and a die cut for additional interest.
Next the sentiment was the finishing piece.

SUPPLIES I USED ON MY PROJECT
Paper/Card Stock: White CS, Pink CS
Dies Used: Sizzix - Tim Holtz thinlits-  friend set; Memory Box- Lavish Branch (old)

Boo to You

Hello
Hope your are having a great week so far.
Today is the 1st Tuesday of September and
over at Craft-Dee BowZ that means its Inspiration Tuesday.
Usually I post an inspiration piece on the 1st Tuesday
and the other designers post on a Tuesday throughout the month as well.

OK,  let me share with you my Tuesday inspiration piece.

This card design came about because of an art piece I saw at a home goods store.
It really appealed to me. (Obviously - LOL)

See that background paper??? That gray and white patterned paper.
Well I had some paper that was this design but it was pink not gray.
Well I put that DP in my copier and copied it as a B &W
and the B&W selection on the copier gave me exactly what I was wanting.
I trimmed it and used it as a layered piece over a dark gray cardstock.

My pumpkin is an old die from Accucut and it's still available.
It comes with eyes a nose and a mouth and a leaf.
I will use the other pieces some other time.
I cut the pumpkin out and then cut another center piece.
I used my paper shaper to shape the end parts of the pumpkin
and that extra center piece.
I added foam tape to the extra center piece and
attached it over that center area on the main pumpkin shape.
It gives the pumpkin dimension. I also inked the edges using gray ink.
I added a bow and this is the end result.

OK after I made that card, I thought that pumpkin would be cute on a handle bag.
Perfect to use that bag for Halloween Trick or Treating.
I decided to make a bag topper
Here is what this finished up as.

This looks so cute.
Same pumpkin - same background paper and I just mounted it on a extra large label shape
and added some pretty leaf ribbon .
I added a slit to that label shape and slid it down on the front bag handle.

You can see the slit and the fold spot right above the stem

SUPPLIES I USED ON MY PROJECT
Paper/Card Stock: DP copied to make gray/white. Orange CS, Black CS, Green CS
Ink: Memento - Gray Flannel
Dies Used: Recollections - Alphabet, Accucut - Pumpkin #5, Spellbinders- Grand labels Four
Accessories
Ribbon, Craft-Dee BowZ  tool, dimensional foam

I am submitting my projects in the following challenges:

OK that's it for today.
Hope you might try making a bag topper.
They are easy to make
and really dress up a plain gift bag.

Happy Day

Hello Everyone and thanks for stopping in today

Well, here is the card I would like to share with you today.
Since it is the 1st Tuesday of the month
it is my turn to post an inspiration piece.

This card has taken me a while to finish.
I had it finished, or so I thought but I felt it was missing something,
so it sat... and waited.... til I could find the piece that would finish it.

I recently purchased a wheat die from a garage sale and that was the finishing piece I needed. Unfortunately, I have no clue as to who makes this die. All I know is I love it and got a super bargain

There is holographic paper under the wheat and I cut it in a banner shape. Flowers and a scroll embellish the left side. The pink piece is scored and folded to achieve that look and under that is an embossed card front base.
I added the bow to the top right and now the card is done and ready to gift.

That ribbon I used is a sheer with white stars embossed on it.
Sheer ribbon is my favorite because it is easy to work with
and since it's so thin you can make a multi-loop bow without a problem.

Here is an up-close view.

For those of you that are bow making challenged this is the tool for you.

Click here to place an order for your very own.

I am submitting my card in the following challenges:

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project. Hope you will link a project in the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge.

Don’t forget, the theme every month is always - Anything Goes with a Handmade bow.
Also on each Tuesday of the month, a different designer will post over
on the Craft-Dee BowZ blog to inspire you!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I 'll be back soon!

Celebrate

Welcome back
I thought I'd show a card I made using some Pan Pastels and Versamark. Don't have Pan Pastels well dust off those chalks and you will get the same effect.

Stamp the image with Versamark and then add the color - using chalks/Pan Pastels. What applicator did I use?? I just used my finger. I just gently tapped my finger onto the pigment color and then tapped my finger onto the stamped image. I also gently rubbed

I stamped a wooded image and used greens and blues and some browns on the trees. Used grays and blues  on the stream and the bank (by the label)

Let me share my card with you.

I love this look, to me it gives me a misty/foggy morning look, Hope you like this look as well.

What Cancer Cannot Do

Hello everyone
Cancer is a disease that is so prevalent today and I think everyone has a family member or knows of someone that has been affected by cancer in some way.

Verses Rubber Stamps sent me this stamp that speaks of cancer. After reading it, I had to leave it sit for a while so that I could get a design idea. Well it finally came to me, I wanted to use some cut out/lacy dies, a doily type die and a label type shape. Layering all these cut out pieces is exactly what I had in mind.

Let me show an even closer view of the sentiment.

I love this sentiment because it lists what cancer cannot do.

I love this stamp and its perfect to use on a card and send to someone battling this disease.

You can order this online and have it shipped to you if you can't find this stamp at your local stamp store. Click here to order.

    Beautiful

    Hi Everyone,
Hope your holiday weekend is nice. I know some are experiencing some bad weather, lots of rain and hurricane weather. Hopefully that will die off soon.

In the meantime, I would like to share a card with you today. I have no idea what this design is called and it's pretty easy to make and for the life of me, I have no clue where I got the dimensions from. I may have got it off of Pinterest, I will have to look there.

Anyhoo.......... here it is.  I like these kind of foldy, foldy cards.

The card stands up on it's own and is just a panel cut in parallel lines and scored and folded
Hope you can see that from the pictures. And wouldn't you know it, I stamped  the sentiment on crooked.Just my luck.

Here is another view (Yep that sentiment is crooked)

And finally a view with this card, flat.

This card is about 5.5" square, next I am going to try to make one that fits in a 5"X7" envie.
If I am successful I will post and give the dimensions.

    Noel

    Hi Everyone!!
Thanks for stopping in today. I just received a few new stamps and I especially wanted to stamp this particular stamp and design a card.

I live in Kentucky and the state bird is the cardinal and they are the state bird in the following states as well: Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia. WOW that's a lot of states that have adopted this bird as their state bird.

OK you probably have guessed I am using a cardinal in my design.

This stamp is from Stampendous, and I just love it. I used a Becca Feeken ornate label die that she used to offer in a kit club. I actually cut it down the center attached 3 halves together and made a swirly edge for my layered oval, on the one side and used a single piece of that die on the other side as an offset.

The cardinals are colored with colored pencils and I used gamsol as my blending agent.

I decided these cardinals reminded me of Christmas so I added the Christmas sentiment. I know we are not quite thru the first half of the year. but you know that Christmas will be here before we know it. LOL

    Step into my Garden

    Hi Everyone,

I have a quick post showing  a card using a few dies and one gorgeous stamp. One die set I used is from Sizzix, a tiny lily. Another die I used is from Impression Obsession and that dies called Hollyhocks. And that stamped image is from Serendipity Stamps.I have the whole alphabet and each letter is gorgeous.

Let me share the card with you.

Here is a close-up of the lilies and that stamped image.

And last but not least, here are the stalks of hollyhocks

When making this card, I used a brick wall embossing folder on the celery green panel. I rubbed over the raised design Lavender Bloom dye ink from Fresco to bring out that brick design. Love those inks.

    Life is a Song

    Hi Everyone,
Happy Hump Day!! LOL   Last night was club night and I thought you'd like to see the card I made for club. The theme was musical and I decided to use a stamp set from Unity that definitely had this theme covered.

I used blue cs for the bird, so I guess you can say he's the blue bird of happiness. LOL I stamped the wing again, fussy cut it out, added glitter to the lines and popped it up.I also glittered the curly tail.  I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make a fluffy bow for the card.

Here is a close up of the bow. I added some flowers to the center of my bow.

I must have spring fever since I made some more little flowers and added them to this card. My last post has some of my handmade flowers on it also.
