Happy Birthday

Hello Everyone,
Hope your  week is treating you well.

Today is the 1st Tuesday of the month and it's time for the start of  June's Inspiration Tuesday over at  Craft-Dee BowZ. Here is the card I made. I decided to use another Bugaboo image. They are the sponsor of the June Craft-Dee BowZ challenge

The bow -

I decided to use a quad loop bow,
and thought the bottom right area would be the perfect place for the bow,

Here is a closer view of my bow.

I used Hug Snug Seam Binding ribbon for this bow.
Nothing super fancy or over the top and it's perfect for this card.

I used my Craft-Dee BowZ bow making tool.
Since Hug Snug is a thinner ribbon (really its a seam binding) it makes it easy to make a quad loop bow.
Don't forget, the Craft-Dee BowZ bow making tool is the best tool out there
that will aid you in making your bows.
The tool is small , easy to store, easy to use and so portable.

Just For You

Hello Everyone,

Hey, thanks for stopping in today.

Since its the first Tuesday of the month,
it's time for my Inspiration Tuesday project
over at Craft-Dee BowZ

Gosh!!  May is already here and we are about half done with spring.
Hope everyone is handling the changes in our lives pretty well.
I get lonely at times but other than that I am doing OK

I watched a video the other day and loved the way the background came out so I made one and used it on this card. This technique is easy and is perfect if you save scraps. And if you are like me, I save every scrap of paper in fear that I will need it or could use it in the future. So I went into my scraps drawers  (notice I said "drawers")  and got out some printed papers out and cut them into strips and made this background.
I just love the way it turned out!!!
click here to view the video I watched

Let me share my card with you.
I was in a red mood as I picked the papers and the ribbon for this card.

If you watch the youtube video, you will see that she uses glitter between the paper strips however it doesn't photograph well here, but it looks great on the card.

Let's check The Bow

For this card, I decided to use a triple loop bow.
As I was making the bow, that ribbon I used reminded me of hose (pantyhose). Very  very sheer. I love the way this ribbon works up into a bow.
Easy to manipulate and get those loops just right.

Here is a closer view of my bow.

Joy, Wonder and Peace

Well, how's your day going???

Mine.... well not too good. I am so late with this post. I am so sorry. I usually have my posts up at midnight. Seems that my days have gotten away from me. LOL (Maybe it's because of the time change)

Since the Christmas holidays are arriving soon, I made a super Christmas card and a few of my friends will be receiving this little, easy to make, card.

I usually like to make A-7 cards or 6"X6" square cards but this smaller A-2 card is perfect for this design and packs a lot in a smaller card size.

This card design also lets me use some of the paper pieces that I just seem to love to save/hoard.
I have so many scraps saved, I have enough for lots of cards,
probably will last me for the rest of my life. LOL
I think we are all like that.

Anyway, to open this card, flip the bird back and then the card will open.

I added the sentiment to a cardstock piece, positioned the same way as the bird on the flap.

The bow on the front is placed on the flap. I made it smaller and not too puffy.
I didn't want to overwhelm this card.

Here is a closer view.
The bow is just a smaller double loop bow.and is the perfect size for this card.

The Craft-Dee BowZ bow maker tool lets you choose the size of the bow and also how many loops you want the bow to have.
Now that's flexibility

I hope you've enjoyed this project and will link up with us this month for the November Challenge!
Remember, all of our challenges are Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow

I will be back soon with more inspiration for you.

A Fall Birthday Card

Hi there! How's your week going so far?
Well the months are going by fast, aren't they??? We just rolled into October. You know what that means.......Christmas will be here in no time flat. I have already started my Christmas shopping. (Uh oh, you haven't....... I'm sorry I brought it up.) OK, let's talk cards and challenges.

Hey, did you know, not only does Craft-Dee BowZ host a challenge, but they also post weekly inspiration projects each Tuesday?
Hope you will stop over at Craft-Dee BowZ and check out their Tuesday inspiration posts.

Since it's the 1st Tuesday of the month, it's my turn to share an inspiration project.
The Craft-Dee BowZ challenge has already started and will be running until October 30

. I'm still working on Christmas cards, (for a show in Cincinnati in November.) but  I decided to take a break from Christmas and work on a fall birthday card.

Let me share my inspiration piece
and I hope it gives you some ideas to design a card or two with the fall theme in mind.

I love the design of this card.
Very simple and those leaves were perfect for the top area of the card.

I bet you are wondering where my usual big bow is. Yes, I usually add a fluffy bigger bow, however, I thought that type of bow would overtake the leaves and their stems
I am using on this card.
So I opted for a triple loop Bakers Twine bow.

Here is a closer shot of that bow.

A Bakers Twine bow is the perfect size for this card.
Of course, the Craft-Dee BowZ tool is the perfect bow making tool,
whether you are using bakers twine bow or ribbon for your bow.

Just a reminder- The sponsor for the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge this month is Bugaboo
The prize will be  4 digital images

Don't forget -  the challenge theme is always
Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow

Hello everyone and welcome to MAY!!!

I am hoping that May brings warmer temperatures in my area, (Oh one can only wish. LOL)  I think winter just doesn't want to give up so we will probably have a short spring or it will by-pass us all together, Then it will be on to hot and humid til mid-September.

Speaking of May, it's time for the start of the May challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ.
The April winners have been announced. So take a minute to check out the winners' list.

The May sponsor is Kinda Cute by Patricia.

Have you checked out her digi's yet?

They are all so cute.
I decided to use an adorable duck from her collection.

So, here is a little inspiration for you
using that duck.

That face on this duck is so precious, isn't it!!!
That would be a cute image for a baby card, too.

I decided to add a simple bow to this card.
It's just a single loop bow.
I didn't want to take away from the duck

Here is a closer view of my bow

You're the Best

Welcome back.

Hope you had a great Easter.

It's been cool and rainy here lately but hey, spring usually brings rain.

Since it's inspiration Tuesday over at Craft-Dee BowZ and it's the first Tuesday of the month, that means it's my turn to inspire you all.

Because we have had so much rain lately in my area, I decided to use a cute image from Bugaboo -

Let me show you a close-up of this bow, I added to my card.

This bow started out as a triple loop bow. Nothing special about that. Well, I decided to stack it on top of a double long loop. And as I was doing the stack and tying the two together, the long loops kind of wound up in a V shape as I pulled the ribbon tight. This has never happened before but it turned out so cool looking that I didn't try to redo the bow.

I love it when things don't turn out as expected but you get a better end result.

The Craft-Dee BowZ tool makes bow making so easy and
sometimes you get a beautiful unexpected result.

Using sheer ribbon makes it easy to get results like this
as well as those bows that you were expecting to get.

Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone
Welcome back.
On the 1st Tuesday of each month I post a card for Craft-Dee BowZ. This card must contain a bow that I have made but other than that I can make anything, card or whatever and I can choose the theme.

Well I belong to a Birthday Card Club over on Facebook and I have to send out birthday cards each month to different recipients. So I make a few birthday cards each month and I thought I'd share this one with you. It will go to a person who has a June birthday.

As I was making this card I used some things that were on my desk, begging to be included in a card and I also tried out the new  Distress Oxides and used a piece as a background. But it's kind of hard to see because I have so many things that really cover that up.

Now.... I usually don't use orange on cards, it's just not one of my favorite colors
but this orange ribbon worked great with this card.

Hope you can see some of the oxide background I made,
its by the daisies and above the happy birthday die cut.
I also used a Martha Stewart punch around the page punches  to get the unusual panel.
I punched the 4 corners then I punched one straight punch, not connecting all the way around.
(Hope that made sense.) I then added a pink piece on the unpunched edge just to make this layered card panel really different. Oh and the daisy centers, I colored them using fossilized amber oxide, I used a paint brush and tapped it on, I also added a halo of cracked pistachio to accent that amber color.

Let me show a closer view of my double loop bow I made for this card.

Using my Craft-Dee BowZ tool, this type of bow is so easy to make.
