Butterflies and Swirls

Welcome back, Everyone!!

I was sitting in my spot in my studio and was wondering what card to make for my Inspiration Tuesday post for Craft-Dee BowZ. Well, I had been reorganizing a tad and I found my template for a double fold pleated card.

I had recently picked up two rolls of pretty handmade paper and wondered if that would be easy to score and cut on my trimmer to make the double fold pleated piece.

Well, it cut great and scored so nice.

After I put the base card together I wondered what I should add to the card (other than my bow).

I decided to add some butterflies using outline stickers and ultrafine glitter to color. I hadn't used the ultrafine glitter in a long long time so I dug the glitter and the outline stickers out.

Let me share my finished card with you

And here is a close up of that bow.

SUPPLIES I USED ON MY PROJECT
Paper/Card StockWhite CS, Black CS, DP, Handmade paper
Accessories:Ultra Fine Glitter, Craft-Dee BowZ  tool, Outline Stickers, Hug Snug seam binding

Sometimes a card doesn't need a stamped image.
It just needs a focal point and I chose my curtain fold to be the focal point.
The butterflies and the bow is just the icing on the cake.

I am submitting mt card in the following challenges:

Welcome To The Pumpkin Patch

Welcome Back, Everyone!!

Today is October 1 and the temperatures in my area have finally cooled down - Yea!!!
Fall is here and Halloween will be here in no time flat!!!

Since it's the first of October, that means it's time for the beginning of the October challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ. The theme is always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow.

This month's sponsor at Craft-Dee BowZ is
Bugaboo

First Place winner
will receive 4 digi's

So get your creative juices flowing and submit a project (don't forget the bow)

Let me share my project with you.

I've made a 6"X6" card and
I started out with a brownish panel on a black card
Next,  I cut a  pumpkin using an Accucut die. (Pumpkin #5)
(This die is a thicker die and it works in my Big Shot Pro)
This pumpkin die has a leaf and a face that can be used as well.

I cut the pumpkin out of white CS and colored it using my Distress Oxides. I love that new ink.

Next, I printed out my digital image and colored it.
I then added some grass and the sentiment

Here is a closer view of the digi image, Fall Pumpkin Trio.

It's oh so cute.

The last item I added was the bow.
Here is a closer look at it.

The bow I used was made with my trusty bow maker. I use it all the time.

If you are bow challenged, this is the tool for you.
And there are videos on YouTube that are easy to follow and will make it easy for you to master making your bows with this great tool.

Need a bow maker, you can order yours here

Hope you liked my card.It was so much fun designing and making this card just for you.
I will be back Tuesday showcasing another card with a bow, however, in the meantime, I am submitting my card in the following challenges:

Thank You

Hi  Everyone

It's April 1 and its a new month and time for another new challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ.

Below is the card that I created for the Craft-Dee BowZ inspiration and it's also on the CDB blog site as well.

If you're like me, I have rubber stamps (mounted and unmounted), clear stamps and digital images. So it seems I have a lot of images to choose from. I decided to go thru some of my digtal images and came across this one.(The flower and the butterfly are all one image) I am sorry but I do not know where this came from. I colored it with colored pencils and used Gamsol to blend the colors.

I guess I chose this image because it reminds me of spring, but spring seems to be slow in coming this year.

I used designer papers and added a punched border strip and layered the panel onto the card.

I attached my bow to the panels before layering them on the card front.

Before I forget - Craft-Dee BowZ is hosting a blog hop starting at 10:00 p.m. edt Thursday April 16. We hope you will join us and find inspiration in all of the projects that the designers will be showing off. The designers theme is Living On The Edge - Use a Border Die. Now that sounds like a great theme and lots of fun inspiration.

    Roses

    Hi Everyone
Saturday I taught a class at Simply Said Rubber Stamps in Loveland Ohio. My class was a techniques class that focused on using colored pencils to color . I love coloring with colored pencils. Using gamsol and stumps to blend the colors is such an easy way to color and I wanted to teach the students how easy it really is. You can even layer colors which can add additional interest and depth to your image. Have you ever tried coloring that way? If not, give it a try. Let me share with you one of the cards that I used as a class sample.

Here is a closer view of the roses and the coloring.

There are so many coloring agents available today and this is just one of them, one that is such an easy way to color. Try it, you may like it.

    Supplies I used:
Stamps - Just Rite Stamps With Sympathy
    Pencils - PrismaColor
    Gamsol
    Glitter
    Pearls - Fab Scraps
    Spellbinders Die - Octagon
    Punch - Fiskars
    Ribbon
    Bow Maker - Craft-Dee BowZ

I am submitting my card in the following challenges-

I will be back soon, have a great week.

    Holiday Script

    Hi Everyone,
I am finishing up on the last class I am offering  in 2013. It will be at Stamping Buddies in Cincinnati on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

Let me share with you a quick little card I made this afternoon.

I used a stamp called Holiday Script Background  from Heartfelt Creations. I stamped the card stock using VersaMark, covered the stamped image with Sticky Powder ( bought this from Gary Burlin at the last convention I attended.) When heating the powder, it melts the powder and it changes to a glue. Next I covered it with glitter.

I added layers of lace , ribbon and strings of beads to the side of the card. As I put the beads down the border over the lace I wondered if I could make a bow using the beads. After a few different attempts I decided to remove a few beads where the knot would go. Yep, my Craft-Dee BowZ tool made that beaded bow.

Here is a closer view of that bow.

I tried to make a multi-loop bow, however I couldn't get it to look right. I want to work at that some more, because I think I can make a multi-loop bow as well.

Well I need to finish up for my last class of the year. Thanks much for stopping by today, I'll be back soon.

    Just a Note

    Hi Everyone,
Hope you had a great weekend. I sure did. The weather in my area is really spectacular right now and looks like it going to be a great week!!!

Recently, I saw a card on Pinterest and thought I saved it. I guess I didn't because I can't find it and I wanted to give credit to this person for my inspiration. Her card really caught my eye and I just wanted to try something like it.

Here is my rendition of her fabulous card.

Stamped circular dots are from an Inkadinkado (Circles and Dots -97631) set I have
Sentiment (Tulips set #491) and glitter are from Sparkle N Sprinkle
Circle cut out shapes - Spellbinders S4-116
Bow made using the Craft-Dee BowZ  bow maker tool

Well hope you have a great week. I am going to meet a friend for dinner this evening, she's in town for a few days on business.

Thanks for stopping in and I will be back soon.

    Craft-Dee BowZ Valentine's Blog Hop

    Hi Everyone
Welcome to the first Craft-Dee BowZ Blog Hop. This months blog hop is featuring a Valentine theme. If you hopped here by way of Amber's Blog then you are in the right place!! Otherwise you might wish to start at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog to become eligible for the Craft-Dee BowZ prize of a tool and a spool of beautiful ribbon.

Since Valentine's Day is right around the corner I thought I would make a card that might give you some inspiration if you still need to make that special card for the special someone in your life.

A side step card makes a cool card and is quite easy to make and assemble

Here is a close up of my bow
and using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool makes your bow making abilities easy.

I also made a darling little box that is perfect for a little sweet treat to accompany a card.

I used just a single loop bow using wired ribbon. It turned out to be a perfect choice for this box.

Here is a view more from the top looking down. It gives a better view of the bow.

Here is the box opened with the sweet treats spilling out
