Just For You

Hello,

Back today with a card that can be used for a birthday or really for any reason.

I used a butterfly border punch and some stamped images from Heartfelt Creations butterfly collection.  I chose a medium size butterfly out of the collection. I stamped the butterfly on a glossy cardstock that I had used alcohol inks on. Got this peachy color but I really was trying to get a color with more orange but I got tired of fiddling with the alcohol inks, so I decided to go ahead and use this peachy color.

I think I will use this card as a birthday card for a friend whose birthday is coming up this week.

You know, spring will begin this month and butterflies remind me of warmer weather so I decided to use this butterfly as the focal point plus it really goes great with the punched border/frame I made on the white CS.

Hopefully the weather will calm down and go back to being normal and spring will be warm and uneventful. One can hope.

I am submitting this card in the following challenges:

Hope this inspired you to make a spring themed card.

Thanks for stopping in today.

I will be back soon

Butterflies

Hello everyone and welcome to September

I thought I'd stop in and get the month started with my card
for the Craft-Dee BowZ September challenge.
September  means it's getting really, really close to the official start of fall
and it also means it's time to start another monthly challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ.

This month's sponsor is Fred She Said

The prize offered by Fred She Said is
$10.00 gift certificate
Hope you can come and play - and you might be a winner.

I love butterflies (and who doesn't) and since we are wrapping up summer, I decided to use a swallowtail butterfly image on my card. To me, they are the last vestiges of summer.

Fred She Said has the prettiest butterfly image. So here is the card I came up with

This card was so fun to put together. Love the colors that I used on that butterfly.

My Bow was so easy to make since I used the Craft-Dee BowZ tool.
I just used some yellow satin ribbon and made a triple loop bow.
Easy peasy

If you are bow challenged and need an easy to use tool,
the Craft-Dee BowZ tool fits the bill, so

Look Around and See

Hi There!!! How is it going today!!

It's June 1 and I am shocked. I must have slept thru a few months. LOL

Summer is here and the temps are pretty warm in my area.

Since it's the first of the month, it's time for the June Craft-Dee BowZ challenge

The challenge runs the whole month so you have time to get your submission in.

The theme is always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow

The sponsor for June is Bugaboo.

Challenge Prize - 4 free images

Let me share my project with you.

The Butterfly and the sentiment are from Bugaboo and are together in the Beauty Butterfly
What a pretty duo!!

For the background, I used Heidi Swapp  12 X 12  sheets that are ready to be foiled and I used a rose-colored foil. However, I find it very difficult to photograph foiled images. You might be able to see a little of the rose foiling in the center on that large flower. The foiling looks great in person.

The butterfly is a Bugaboo image and I fussy cut it out,
colored it and added a few glitter stickers to the wings.
The sentiment was cut using a pinked circle die

My bow - well it is a triple loop bow and I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make it.

I used a sheer ribbon - my favorite ribbon to make a bow.

The Craft-Dee BowZ tool is so easy to use and is lightweight and portable

The Butterfly

Hi Everyone,
Have you played with the Color Burst that is out on the market?? Well I have a few times and last nite I played with a yellow and a blue color.

.But this time I used the Color Burst as ink.

I spritzed a mist of water on a butterfly stamp and tapped a blue and a yellow bit of the powders on the rubber stamp. Then I turned that stamp over and stamped it on white card stock.

Well I loved what I got.

I decided to fussy cut that butterfly out.

Next I decided to stamp this same butterfly image on a blank white card.
After doing that, I had a lot of white space staring at me, so I pulled out a new stencil and covered up that white space with a brick design.

My butterfly that I had fussy cut out, I attached it over the butterfly
that I stamped directly on the card front.

I had a die cut, a lattice flourish, just sitting on my table and I slid it behind/underneath the butterfly

Then, I saw a  die cut piece from  K&Co, so I added that.(Its positioned above the butterfly)It was already colored  and its colors complimented the colors I was using on the card so I was OK with this addition.

Lastly I took a dictionary page and copied it onto card stock and added the butterfly definition.

OK Let me share my card with you.

Well I am really loving that butterfly and how it came out. Hope this inspires you to use Color Burst.

    Just Flutterin' By

    Hi Everyone,

Well, we are 7 days into July, already. This month is flying by so fast and so is this year. Pretty soon we will be looking at Christmas cards and such. I already have a class scheduled this month for Christmas cards. I will be sharing those cards with you after the class is held.

Over at Craft-Dee BowZ, the theme this month for the designers  is "Out of Shape - No Square or Rectangle Card". Boy that really opens the gates up pretty wide. Well I took the easy way out I guess. I made a circular easel card.

A few things you will see on this card are items I  have had in my stash for a while but have never used, Time to get them out and use them. When I decided on a butterfly then a few things just came together.

Let me share with you this card:

    Here is the card closed

And here is the card, opened

Here is a closer view of the inside sentiment.

    A close-up of the bow.
I just made a double loop bow for this card..
I used two stamp sets from My Sentiments Exactly. I used the lines and swirls to make my background, it was perfect for the background. I also used another My Sentiments Exactly set for my sentiment and that smaller typed butterfly shape.

I have to address that large butterfly. That was made using a Tim Holtz die, Fanciful Flight. I also used some papers that I made a while back, using my Gelli Plate. After looking at the black cutouts of the butterfly wings, I thought of my Gelli Plate papers. Thought they might be the perfect paper to use as the background for the wings. Let me show you,

This is just a pull from left overs from other Gelli Plate designs.
This will make a great background for a card.

OK let me show you this paper with a wing sitting on it

If you move the wing around you will get a slightly different effect for the wing background.
So that's how the butterfly came to be.

OK all you Gelli Plate lovers  start using those sheets you are hoarding.

Stop in next Tuesday at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog for a post by Vicki.
I wonder what she has in store for us???

    True Friends

    Hi Everyone

Do you love those different step cards that are out there in blogland?? I know I do.

I found a great card with the steps in the center. This design is known as a double sided step card.  I found this card quite easy for me to cut. Click Here for a great post with instructions in case you want to try this yourself.

On the side panels, I used DP and over that I used some 5X7 HOTP Color Me Floral Card Toppers.
They were too long for my side panels so I trimmed them so they would be just the right length.

For the center area, I used a clear heavy transparent sheet for the back step. I attached the stamped oval with the sentiment stamped on the top and a lace die cut was used at the bottom of that piece..

On the front step, I used another transparent sheet with that lace piece at the bottom and them I used a stamped butterfly on the top of that piece.

The sentiment is a little hard to read, so here is what it says,
"True friends grow seperately without growing apart."

    What a great sentiment

    Hi Everyone,

I made this bow by stacking the purple and blue ribbon.and used the Craft-Dee BowZ tool to made a double loop bow. After the bow was removed from the tool, I pulled the loops apart to give the bow a fluffy look.

Time to get your Craft-Dee BowZ tool out and make a beautiful fluffy bow.

    The Ribbon Fairy

    Hi Everyone,
Well it's Wednesday and I will be cooking my green beans slowly all day in preparation of Thursday's dinner. I am also going to try a recipe I saw on pinterest, Apple Dumplings. I will report back and let you know how these turned out.

In the meantime, I have been busy, finishing up on a few projects that I need to get done. I will put the finishing touches on them later today.

I also saw the cutest ornament that was originally shown back in 2012.These were called ribbon dolls and click here to see these cute creatures.(Saw these on pinterest the other day and I remember when they were origionally introduced) I was compelled to try my version of the fabulous creatures.

So let me ask you, what do you get when you combine a doll stamp, lop off the legs, add a butterfly, a bow and some ribbon??  Let me show you my creation.

    A Ribbon Fairy

This little magical creature was so easy to make and I decided to call her a Ribbon Fairy.

The doll stamp is a Julie Nutting image -  "Mindy" and the wings are a butterfly image from Earth Art International -(Animal Spirit Stamps) Luna Moth. I added ribbons and a bow for the filmy dress and put a loop on her back to be able to add her to a Christmas tree or hang her from some other spot. My bow was made using my Craft-Dee BowZ tool.

    The Best Day Ever

    Hi Everyone,
Thanks for stopping by today. This month the design team at Craft-Dee Bow will be using digital images from The Graphics Fairy. You will definitely want to check out all the designers projects this month for their very creative cards and other ideas using images from The Graphics Fairy. They have so many cool images and I hope you check them out soon.

I am very excited to show you The Graphics Fairy digital image that I used for my card today.

This image shows a fairy looking out of the center of a flower. I thought it would look great to have the petals popping off the card.To get that effect, I printed the image 3 times. The first image is the bottom image and is just  flat and cut with an oval Spellbinders die. Next I fussy cut the 2nd image and using my Paper Blossom tool kit, I shaped the petals to have them lifting up. I attached that right on top of the original image, but I left the petals free so they would bend. For the 3rd image I cut away everything except the orange-ish petals, making sure to include the green base of the flower. I used the Blossom tool kit on these petals as well, giving them a bend also. Again I layered these petals over the same area on image #2, attaching just at the base of the flower.. This gives the look of the fairy looking out of a real flower.Let me show you a close up view.

I decided to use some greenery and twigs and I added pearls to look like little buds on the brown twigs and as accents with some rhinestones on the greenery.

My bow - was made using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool. Using a sheer ribbon, I made a triple loop bow and added a lacy butterfly over the center knot. The tool makes bow making so easy. If you have trouble making a bow, this tool is the answer to your prayers.

There is gorgeous lace as a border on the card and the vellum panel is embossed with a Spellbinders Floral folder.

That wide lace piece might be a little hard to see, it extends down under the greenery and its under the sentiment also. I layered another piece if crocheted lace on top of that wide lace piece.

Here is a full shot of my card for my May post for Craft-Dee BowZ. Hope you have a wonderful week. Stop in at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog next Tuesday to see Vicki's beautiful project using another image from The Graphics Fairy.
