Happy Easter Card

Hi Everyone, Thanks for stopping in today!!!

Spring has arrived, and I think it's about time. However we are expecting more snow here tonight/ tomorrow in the Cincinnati region with 60's a few days later. April will bring some of those warmer and sunny days, I hope.

Let me share with you cards from my March card class over the next few days.  The class contained 3 cards, 2 Easter and one semi clean and simple.

Here is the 1st Easter card.

That grass turned out kind of crummy so at the class I suggested the ladies trim the green piece in a wavy scallop cut and then use the fringe scissors. That turned out much better. The ladies said on my card, the grass had just been mowed. LOL

I will be back in a few days with the other Easter card. It is so cute, hope you like it..

Easter Blessings

Hi everyone,
So glad you stopped in today. I am back with my post for Craft-Dee BowZ for March. This month the theme for the design team is Easter.  I want to share with you an Easter card I made and the bow I added was made using my trusty Craft-Dee BowZ tool.

The background image is actually a pre-printed card about the size of a post card and it's from a set called Paintables. They come in a set of 16. I used a metallic paint set to color the image and decided to use a soft metallic green that compliments that bow color. I also used a soft bronze and a soft blue, again all the colors are soft metallics and look great with the metallic CS I used for the card base.

Here is a closer view of part of the printed card, painted.

Isn't this butterfly awesome. It too is from Prima. They have some of the prettiest embellishments.

Let's take a closer look at my bow. I made a double loop bow. This ribbon has wired edges and that's really my favorite type.  I love the mint green ombre color on this ribbon, hope you do too.

My Craft-Dee BowZ tool is my go to tool for all my bows. Easy to use and stores easy and always at my finger tips. The best thing is the fact the that it lets you make different sizes and types of bows.

One last comment about this card - That filmy looking purple piece peeking out around some of the edges, is a used dryer sheet sprayed with Dylusions Ink Spray. I love the filmy, dreamy look it adds to your project. Save those sheets and use your sprays to color them. I pulled mine to stretch it out somewhat.

SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT
Stamps:  JustRite - Easter Blessings
Paper/Card Stock
: Metallic CS  Pale Green, Bronze
Ink: VersaMark
AccessoriesRibbon, Metallic Watercolors, Pearls Craft-Dee BowZ  tool, dimensional foam, used dryer sheet, Dylusions Ink Spray, Prima-Butterfly and Preprinted Card,

My Favorite Technique Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Favorite Techniques Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Cammy's blog then you are in the correct spot.If you haven't and you want to be eligible for prizes, then please start at the beginning at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog to be eligible for some fabulous prizes.

This month our blog hop theme is my favorite technique. Boy, I had a hard time deciding what to show because there are so many techniques that I love to use. Since I my card was going to use an Easter theme that made my choice easy.

I decided to use one of my all time favorite techniques, making your own glitter paper. Here is why I love this technique: It's easy to make, I can use whatever color card stock I choose, I can match the color to my project,......oh and did I say it's an easy technique.

Let me show you how easy this technique really is. First gather up a few needed items

I cut my card stock into egg shapes first, but you can do this after the glitter paper is made if you prefer.

You will need a heat tool, I used a clip to hold the egg shapes as I heat set the powder, VersaMark, Shimmer Embossing Powder - EP 137, and a coffee filter to catch the excess EP.

Cover your card stock with VersaMark then cover with the Shimmer EP.

 Heat set.
Here are the eggs with one layer of Shimmer EP applied.

I applied a 2nd layer to add even more glitter to these eggs.

Here is the card that I designed using those glittery eggs I made using this technique.
Click here for directions to make this card.

List of products used:
Mini 8 Punch
Spellbinders Nested Egg Die S4-264
Designer paper (for the grass)
Fringe Scissors (for the grass)

Well I hope you give this technique a try, I really think you will like it, too. It is fast, easy and really the results are quite pretty.

Just a reminder to leave a comment to be eligible for the fabulous prizes that are to be awarded.  There are prizes "hidden" in some of the blogs, so the comment you leave just may be one of the winners.

Next on the blog hop agenda is the wonderfully creative Karin Martin, So hop on over to her blog to check out her awesome technique.

Here is the list of designers in case you get lost.

** Marie Berquist  ** Dawn Bennett ** Cammy Vietzke ** Barbara Bruder (that's me) **

**Karalee Ingram  ** Brenda Smalle **

Thanks for stopping in today so I could share this easy and fun technique with you.

Easter message

Welcome to Wednesday!!!

Do you believe it, this month is almost over and we are less than two weeks away from Easter!! I am so amazed at how fast time is going. Speaking of Easter, I have another Easter card for you. I love Easter lilies and I decided that I had to use this stamp for this Easter card, although I could use it after Easter as well.

OK check out that trellis looking light pink accent behind the lily, I made it using a Martha Stewart border punch. Yep I did and coming soon will be a pictorial how to. That darker pink panel was made using a Spellbinder M-bossibilities folder. That was one of the goodies that I won from Spellbinders back in January. I have to tell you that those folders are AWESOME.What a great idea, embossing designs on both sides of the folder. duh!!

Supplies used:
Art Impressions Stamps - Easter Lilies  L4022, Easter Message  F1420
Spellbinders Die - Crown Ovals S4-303
Spellbinders M-bossibilities folder - Nobility ES-002
Ink- India Ink Black, Fresco Florentine Rose
Copic Markers- BV00, Y17, G21
Paper/Cardstock - Green cs, designer papers
Pearls

Thanks for stopping in today. I will be back tomorrow with my design based on the Art Impressions Weekly Challenge. Hope to see you then.

It's Easter Bunny time again

I am sorry for being missing in action for so long. My computer had a stroke (you know, a brain seizure of sorts) and I had to take it to the PC hospital. Well, good news, I didn't have to get a brain transplant or a new PC, so the problems were corrected and I am back on board.

Tonight I put together a cute little tag with the sweetest Easter Bunny stamps from Sparkle N Sprinkle. They are in set 214, Star Bunnies. I used the new tinsel glitter also from Sparkle N sprinkle. It makes great grass doesn't it??

This will make a great tag for that Easter gift you are giving this Sunday.

Oh by the way, Margaret at Sparkle N Sprinkle, has an Easter special going on right now, thru midnight Sunday, 40% off. Here are the details:
Pick any one item including any stamp or stamp set or glues .. OR .. Pick any two items of all embossing powders, glitters and flocking, including Sparkle N Soft. Put your choice in the Comment Section of the order by listing the item name and number from the order. The purchase will be adjusted to reflect the discount when they process your credit card.

Excludes Spellbinder, Copic, kits, clubs, inks, markers, papers, gift certificates and accessories.

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on its way, so hop on in to Sparkle N Sprinkle and pick up some sparkly Easter savings.

When I photographed the tag above, I used a black background to see how the photos look with a light absorbing color instead of white which is light reflecting. I kind of like this look. Let me know what you think, leave me a comment, please.

I have a project that I need to finish for my post Sunday at Just Imagine/Kreations. So if you have time before Easter dinner, hop over to their blog to check out my latest Sunday Inspirations.

Well thanks for stopping by and I will see you soon,

Snow and Easter

Well it snowed for most of the day Thursday and now the weatherman is forecasting more snow to come next week. The Farmer's Almanac predicted a snowstorm between Jan. 15-21 . They hit that on the nose, and here is what the Almanac is saying, Jan. 22-25 snow squalls and bitter cold and Jan. 26-31 snow showers and cold. The weatherman is saying, Arctic cold temps.with single digits for last nite and tonight. And yep he was right  about last nite, and so was the the Almanac. Wind chill below zero and more snow to come. We got 4.9"  of snow Thursday.

Well, as all that weather is going on, I've been making a few cards and even made one for Easter. Even though Easter is late this year I thought you'd like to see it and get into the Easter mode. Maybe this card will warm you up.(OK, OK, I am a couple of holidays ahead.)

Isn't that chick cute??? I even added a feather to his head to give him even more personality.Check out those eggs. They are glitter paper that I made myself. And it is so easy to do. You can make your own, get the color you want and save a whole lot of money, as glitter paper is about $3.00 per 12X12 sheet. And if you only need a small piece, you won't have to buy a big sheet just to get a little piece or not find the color you are in need of. If you want to learn how I make my glitter paper click here to see my tutorial.

That chick is in the new Easter set available at Sparkle N Sprinkle. He is in set #426. That set has a total of 10 stamps. To check out that set click here.

Well that's it for now, thanks for stopping by, see you soon and keep warm,
