February Stamp Club - Theme Card. - Shaped Card

Hello everyone

Well we are almost half thru with February. Spring is not far away. (Can you tell - I'm not a fan of cold weather - LOL)

We just had our February stamp club meeting and the theme card is a shaped card. Now, IMHO that means not a rectangle or square card.

A little back story on my card -Many years ago I bought a plain (bigger) chipboard puzzle piece and decorated it. However I never gave it away. Glad I didn't, because, I traced that puzzle shape onto white CS  and made a new creation. The puzzle piece is roughly 6 3/4" square including those 2 pieces that stick out on the two sides, but it really doesn't look that large.

Here is my card I made for stamp club

(I loved the way this turned out so much, I made another but used a cute digital image and I used it for a friends birthday card and she loved  it.)

With Thanks

Welcome to the first Tuesday of May.

Time for inspiration Tuesday over at Craft-Dee BowZ.
The May challenge at CDB has started and runs thru the end of the month.
We hope you enter and you could be the next winner.
The theme is always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow.

The May sponsor is Cute As A Button and the prize is 2 black and white images.

On April 30,  I posted about a card using acrylic, printable acrylic.
I printed a digital image onto the printable acrylic.
That image was pre-colored and it turned out great.
Check out that post here.

Well for this card, I decided to use a stamped image instead of a digital image.
I also wanted to test out the alcohol markers and regular markers in coloring the image.

I think it really turned out great.

The image had a lot of open areas that needed to be colored. Perfect for my test.

I stamped the image on the rough side, using black Staz-On, the side you would print on. I also colored the image on that rough side, I used alcohol markers and some distress markers.
Both worked great.

Once done with the  coloring, I attached some glitter film to the back of that acetate,
making sure I attached the glitter to the rough side.
Next I added a white cardstock piece to the back so the image and the glitter really show up.

I added some gold strips to the sides and a bow and I mounted that on a creamy yellow card base.
And my card is finished.

I really love working with the printable acrylic sheets.
Hope you will try using them as well.

That bow - Made it using my Craft-Dee BowZ
Made a single loop bow. Perfect for this 5X7 card.

Frustration is Part of Success

Hi Everyone and Welcome Back,

Here is a card that I made a while back and it's been sitting waiting to be posted. So I thought I share this now, before we get really far into the Christmas season.

Do you like things, cards, that are outside the norm?? I know I do especially if they are easy to do.

Well I was looking at Pinterest the other day and spied a card that was a little different so you know it caught my eye.

I decided to change it a tad and make it mine, so to speak.

Here is the card that I came up with

And here it is opened

I love this design, It has a front that gets opened but that card front is just a portion of the card. Just a little different but easy to do and you can use some leftover paper if need be. This would make a darling Christmas card design as well, hmmm.... I have the coolest tree that would fit perfectly on the card front. I may have to make one and show you in a post later this week.
