Let's talk about love...

Altered moleskine notebook

... hmm, or may be not. Tricky thing that is. Love :)

This week is the last time I'm hosting for City Crafter...

And with Mr Valentine in sight
I couldn't help but think about projects with hearts.

Birds in the snow

Hello lovelies,

The theme this week at City Crafter is

Snow bird
Make a card or project and include a bird AND snow.

Sweet Ros chose this beautiful theme.
Thank you dear, I love birds!

Jingly birds

zzzzzzz...

Yawn!

Dear me, what day is it???

(It's GroundHogDay!!)

No, it's City Crafter day and I'm a bit late...

Hurry hurry before the party is over!

Dreams of bygone eras

The local thrift store was whispering to me

"Come dear, come...
I have a dream find for you..."

I hushed the still small voice the day before.

But this day I knew it was now or never.
So I obeyed and went.

Oh my oh my, what a magnificent find...

An antique typewriter!!

I'd wished for it for long
but never dared dream one would actually find its way to me!

What stories, letters, or documents have been typed on it...
I would love to know.

To have a sneaky peek in its past.

I dream of bygone eras.

I've always had a passion for the old and vintage.

It started with the stored treasures and stories of old by my grandma.

The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt...
A vintage novel in pictures by Caroline Preston.

This book plus trailer video (below)
is how my adventure in arts and crafts took off.

Combined with my love for old stuff.

My new antique typewriter awakens in me a renewed passion
for the vintage arts and crafts.

It inspires me to go on along this winding road
with exciting new adventures ahead.

Now this altered matchbox / little shadow box
was made after seeing the inspiring Christmas tutorials by

She's having a most wonderful

vintage Christmas event.

Every day a new tutorial, a week long.

A petit keepsake box
(recycled empty matchbox)

with an adorable shadow box inside...

I used some silver and sparkling.

And some grey and greige goodies love.

Linking my silver greige love to Grey Dey Thursdey :)

Little collage on treebark

Collage on treebark???

Yep.

From Suzy of Suziqu's Threadworks I got some gorgeous old laces.
At first I didn't dare touching them.
I'm so courageous, lol.

And then I thought, I have to do something special with the first pieces I'm using of it.

And I told a little while ago about my love for treebark. So why not combine the two?

I had seen a few beautiful examples, made by Viola and gave it a try.

With a vintage religious image I used a little time earlier on an altered jar.

So here it is, my little treebark collage, in full length.

It's my turn this week to host the challenge at City Crafter.

And the theme I chose is

Snow White
Make a project or card with white as your main colour.

There are different hues of white, it doesn't have to be pure white.
Dear Lisette is our guest designer again :)

I'm also linking this to

Wishing you a sweet and courageous week.

Remnants in a Jar or two

What's left on the workdesk
after some happy time spent with beautiful lace fabrics
are the little remnants of the day.

Too beautiful to be thrown away
yet too small to be put on a pile on the shelf.
What's a girl to do?

Dig up some trash jars
and upcycle them into lovely storage jars.

They're a bit shabby French style, don't you think?

I totally fell in love with the shabby Frenchness Jeanne d'Arc Living style. I have Pinterest to thank for it. But I know that although I love the white and grey hues of it the soberness in colour the roughness on the edges

after a while I will miss the sweet soft pale colours and even the happy bright ones.

And then it's time for yet another change.

Call it mood swings.
Crafty mood swings that is!

Besides

I'm still trying to find my own style
and feel like a copy cat until now (and probably many days after)

The only thing what's left to do for me now
is finding me some extra jars and probably shelves too
because I wanna make some more.

These two are for City Crafter's

HOLD IT

Make or decorate a container (giftbox, bag, card holder, etc)

And our lovely host this week is Ros.
Thank you dear, I love this theme!

My dear blogfriend Milagros from Puerto Rico is our guest designer. She has so many unique and creative ideas so I'm happy she's joining the team this week.

And I'm sharing this post with Becky's Blissful Whites Wednesday.
Thank you Becky for hosting such a lovely gathering every week!

Last but not least:

I'd like to share with you
the images I used in these projects

Sending you warm hugs and wishing you a sweet week.

Au revoir!

Burlap Love {Recycle}

Recently I did a course on sustainable living.
At the end we had to think about what we could change in our lives.

Well.

You know.

As a crafter I've got loads of stuff and leftovers.
Recognize that? (Don't you dare say no.)

How about...

a)  Using what I got - no buying allowed (except laces laces and er... more laces)?

b)  Re-using / re-purposing stuff I normally would send to the garbage bins - package material, newspapers, empty bottles, junk mail, tissue boxes, leftovers of crafting, stuff like that?

Blessed by an Angel

'If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;

If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.'

- Poem by Emily Dickinson

Isn't that what angels are to us, helping hands?

Little Maggie Wood Grain Project

*** Update: my project Little Maggie has been featured at Timewashed.com, yay!!
Thank you Becky :) ***

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and a good fresh start of the week!

It's Tuesday again, and I'm still the guest designer at City Crafter so here's my project for this week. I'm so enjoying my time at CCCB, thank you girls!

This sweet little girl is Margaret Ford. She's three years old here. I found her beautiful picture on Jules' blog, for which I'm so grateful!

Altered jar { DIY }

Dear blogfriends,

A warm welcome to you. Today I'd like to share with you
an altered jar plus a little DIY.

Altered matchbox

What to do with an empty petit matchbox
after you used the last match?

Throw it away?

Mais non!!!

Why not repurpose it into a little keepsake box instead?

A tiny place where you can hide your secret little treasures.

The roses and the background paper are all made by me.

You can find a video tutorial of the flowers by Gina HERE.

And HERE is the link to my background paper.
Feel free to use it.

I redid this post. It was one of my first blogposts and it needed a redo.

I took some new photos.
And while editing them I noticed the dust on the beads...
Lol, I should have cleaned it first!

~

Last but definitely not least a very warm welcome
to my new followers. I hope you'll enjoy!

Bye bye, have a lovely day!
