Adventure Awaits

It's the last Tuesday of the Month and time for a new Taylored Expressions Cardmaking Kit! This month's kit is all about travel, making it perfect for both card makers and scrapbookers. The kit is available now in the TE Store

I have two card inspired by the new kit.

Kit Contents:
  • Adventure Awaits Layering Stencil
  • Adventure Awaits Coordinating Dies
  • All Together Adventure Icons Stamp & Die Combo
  • The Insiders - Adventure Awaits
Add-Ons:
  • Road Map 6x6 Background Stamp
  • Going Places Stamp Set
  • Going Places Coordinating Dies
  • Sticker to It - Adventure Awaits

The Adventure Awaits Layering Stencil creates five images, the plane, luggage, camera, car, and suitcases. I used all five images between the two cards. I used a color combo of Tiki Mule, Sour Gummy, Cilantro, and Poppy Seed along with VersaFine Clair - Nocturne Ink.

For the card front I stamped Road Map 6x6 Background Stamp with VersaFine Clair - Nocturne Ink on Salt Water Taffy Cardstock.

I used the Going Places Stamp Set and Dies to added the sentiments to my cards using Sour Gummy Ink on Sugar Cube Cardstock. I stamped the All Together Adventure Icons Stamp & Die Combo to create the smaller icons.

For my second card I stamped Versamark Ink on Licorice cardstock with the Road Map 6x6 Background Stamp and embossed with white embossing powder.

The card front is embossed with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.

It's Day 2 of the Papertrey Ink May Release Countdown!

Hi and welcome to the Day 1 of the Papertrey Ink May Release Countdown! Today my cards are all about welcoming new babies in the world.  All the new products will be available on May 26th at 12 PM EDT.

My first two cards today feature the Quilt-It-Baby Die Set and the This is Big Sentiments: Welcome. I really like the idea of quilt squares. There are two different size options for the quilt squares. This is the smaller one. I have listed the cardstocks and ink colors I used below.

I created the star pattern and die cut the quilt squares from white cardstock. Then I blended Spring Rain Ink to help highlight the stitching. I used Blueberry Sky Cardstock for the card front and used the previously release Cover Plate: Handmade Quilt Die to add the pattern.

The sentiments are from the new This is Big Sentiments: Welcome. The hat is die cut with dies in the new Build-A-Bear Dies Set.

Supplies:

Stamps: Quilt-It-Baby, This is Big Sentiments: Welcome
Dies: Quilt-It-Baby, This is Big Sentiments: Welcome, Cover Plate: Handmade Quilt Die, Build-A-Bear, On the Edge: Scallops Collection Die
Ink: Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Pinefeather, Versamark
Paper: Stamper's Select White, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Spring Rain, Lemon Tart, New Leaf, Pure Poppy, Bitty Big Collection: Blueberry Sky
Other: White Embossing Powder, Blending Brushes, Foam Tape

This is the larger option for the quilt square. I stamped the patterns on colored cardstock, colors listed below. After I stamped the pattern I stamped the stitching. I used the Cover Plate: Handmade Quilt Die to add the pattern to the quilt square.

I added the clouds with the new In Stitches: Starry Skies. There are dies for clouds and stars in this set.

I used a mix of the Bitty Big Collection: Pale Peony and the Bitty Big Collection: Spring Moss patterned paper for the card front. These are more sentiments from the This is Big Sentiments: Welcome.

Supplies:
Stamps: Quilt-It Baby, This is Big Sentiments: Welcome,
Dies: Quilt-It Baby, This is Big Sentiments: Welcome, In Stitches: Starry Skies, Cover Plate: Handmade Quilt Die
Ink: Summer Sunrise, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, New Leaf, Berry Sorbet, Pure Black, Sweet Blush
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Hibiscus Burst, Bitty Big Collection: Pale Peony, Bitty Big Collection: Spring Moss
Other: Button, Twine, Lace, Blending Brushes, Foam Squares

Next up is a look at the cute new Build-A-Bear Dies Set. There are many options for dressing up your bear including some patriotic options. I am going to a baby shower soon so I went with the baby girl option.

I die cut the bear from white cardstock and then used Distress Inks in Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy to add the color. I added the flower and leaves with the Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers Die.

The sentiment is from the This is Big Sentiments: Welcome. The card front is die cut with the Cover Plate: Gathering Florals.

Supplies:
Stamps: This is Big Sentiments: Welcome
Dies: Build-A-Bear, This is Big Sentiments: Welcome, Cover Plate: Gathering Florals, Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers
Ink: Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse

Hi and welcome to the Day 1 of the Papertrey Ink May Release Countdown! This month is all about the red, white, and blue, summer get togethers, and new babies! All the new products will be available on May 26th at 12 PM EDT.

Today I have a fun take on a patriotic card with some floral designs. I used the new Freedom in Bloom Stamp Set and coordinating Freedom in Bloom Dies to create this pretty floral inspired flag. The sentiment I used is also included in the stamp set.

I created the background with the Cover Plate: Gathering Florals Die. I used Pure Poppy Cardstock and added Stamper's Select White Cardstock behind the die cuts.

I added vellum across the center of the card and then added the leaves that are die cut with the previously released Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers Die behind the flag.

I added a few gold gems to finish off the card.

Stamps: Freedom in Bloom
Dies: Freedom in Bloom, Cover Plate: Gathering Florals, Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers Die

Talking in Circles

It's Throwback Thursday at Taylored Expressions! TE is release products from the previously released Talking in Circles cardmaking kit along with some fun new products. You can find the new products now in the TE Store

There are dies to cut circles, half circles, and quarter circles along with Talking in Circles Maps in Sugar Cube and Toffee Cardstock. I started by picking a map to work with. This makes the card layout so. easy even though it might look complicated. I used a color combination of Confetti Cake, Blue Raspberry, Mint  Julep, Wintergreen, and Sour Gummy.

I used the new Playful Patterns for Half Circles Stamp Set to stamp the various patterns and then die cut with the Talking in Circles Whole Circles and Quarter Circle Dies. I also used the Talking in Circles Die - Inverted Diamond to die cut the diamonds from glittered cardstock. Once all my pieces were die cut I just followed the pattern on the map to place the die cuts.

I used a sentiment from the More Sundry Sentiments Stamp Set to finish off the card.

Happy crafting! Stop by the TE Blog for all the details on the new products, and more inspiration from the team.

The Patriotic Release!

America turns 250 just once and Taylored Expressions is joining in the celebration with new products to celebrate in a handmade way! Think fireworks lighting up the night sky, handwritten happy mail, neighborhood parades, and all the red, white, and blue memories that bring us together year after year! All the new products are available now in the TE Store.

My first card features The Archive Collection - On the Road Wagon. This is a die set you can use throughout the year! I filled the wagon with red, white, and blue flowers using the previously release Garden Variety Die Set. To add to the patriotic feel I used gold foil to die cut the wagon handle and the center of the wheels.

I used Blueberry Cardstock for the card front that I embossed with the new Stars and Stripes Embossing Folder. After I embossed the cardstock I lightly rubbed my Sugar Cube Ink Pad over the embossing. I framed the card with the largest die in the Frame in Frame Cutting Plate 3.

I added the pennant with the sentiment with the Pennant Picks Die & Clear Stamp Combo. The bottom sentiment is from the new Star-Spangled Sentiments Stamps Set and die cut with the coordinating dies.

I love the TE Postmarked Collection and Postmarked - Americana is the newest addition to product line. I used the Foil It - Postmarked Americana with Gold Shimmer Fun foil. Then I stenciled with the Postmarked - Americana Stencil. I used a combination of Cherry Pop, Blueberry, Watermelon, and Confetti Cake Inks. I also embossed the card front with the Postmarked - Americana Embossing Folder.

I created the mailbox with the Happy Mail Die &  Clear Stamp Combo that was release last year. I stenciled a few extra images and die cut them with the Postmarked Cutting Plate which works with all the images in the Postmarked Collection. I used foam tape to add the envelopes and stamp falling out of the mailbox.

This sentiment is also from the Star-Spangled Sentiments Stamp Set.

You're TEERIFIC!

I am popping in today to share a few products from the new release at Taylored Expressions. It's the For Him Release. Father's Day is coming up and I know I never have enough masculine birthday cards in my stash. I have four son-in-laws! So I happy to have these new products in my craft room. But really the products are not just for the guys. I have a of female friends who love to golf, barbecue, and maybe have a beer!

First up is a look at the golf themed products. I started by creating the golf cart using the Golf Cart Die. I used Bleu Cheese Cardstock with TE Silver Foil and Black Glossy Cardstock. Next I cut a piece of Peapod Cardstock for the card front and stamped the previously released Cork Background Stamp with Peapod Ink and die cut with the Par for the Course Cutting Plate.

Next I used the Par for the Course Layering Stencil to create the grass, sand, and water. Then I layered the die cut card front over the stenciled background. Included in the Par for the Course Cutting Plate are the dies to add the flags and trees.

The sentiment is from the Fore You Stamps Set and die cut with the Fore You Dies.

My next card is for all the Grill Master's in our lives. I created the grill with the Hot off the Grill Dies.I love the details of the barbecue tools and mustard and ketchup bottles. There is another option for creating the grill with flames.

To create the frame I stamped the Chill & Grill Background Stamp with Versamark Ink on Blueberry Cardstock and then embossed with TE White Embossing Powder. Then the used the A2 Layer Stacklets Die Set to cut out the middle of the frame and mat with Licorice Cardstock.  I stenciled on Sugar Cube Cardstock with the Set the Scene - Clouds Stencil Strips and the  Set the Scene Stencil Strips – Hills and added the background behind the grill.

This sentiment is part of the Grill Master Stamp Set and die cut with the coordinating dies.
