While I am working on my giveaway gifts for my one year blog anniversary I would like to show you some of my old treasures that I have acquired. My husband's grandmother gave us this quilt in the late 70's. I was not into quilting and so I did not get any information on the quilt. There is not a label on it and I do not even remember if my husband's grandmother made it or if it was made by some one else in the family. It makes me sad not to know the history of the quilt now that I am a quilter.

Looks like it might be from the 30's or 40's, Carrie judging by the fabrics..although I'm certainly no expert.
I love old quilts and this one sure is a keeper.
What a beauty it is. I'm sure you must treasure this one.
Lovely and very special. LOVE the polka dot binding. I'm so bad at labels.
Thanks for showing that lovely quilt.. what a treasure to have... even if it aint signed... it still belongs to family... maybe you should label it with what you know.. to help in the future??? :o) wich reminds me.. LABEL my quilts..:o)
What a beautiful quilt! I have some quilts left to me by my uncle's family. One of his maternal relatives started home-ec in Missouri and was an avid quilter, but the quilts have no label and I don't know if she did them or someone else. One is a pink, green and white wedding ring quilt...beautiful and quilted by hand!
Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures and reminder to find out what we can when we can about the quilts around us.

What a beautiful quilt! The quilting is lovely as well. If only quilts could talk...
Carrie, you have an absolute treasure. It should give us all a boost to label our quilts. It would be so great to know the history of yours.
This is a true treasure...the polka dot binding is my favorite too! I'm always sad when we don't know the history of a quilt too...although it's good to know it is loved and appreciated!
It is so nice to have a family quilt. I love the fabric in that one. The hand quilting is of great quality.

It is beautiful Carrie, what a fabulous treasure.
What a stunning quilt, maybe you could put a label on it still about how you came by it. Now I'm reminded why I really need to get those labels done. Thanks for sharing such a beauty, I love the binding very much.
Beautiful.
A lovely heirloom! It is a pitty not to know, but you are lucky to have this special tresure!
You know, I really do not put my name on the quilts I make but after hearing your story, I think I might just have to start! What a treasure!!
What a fabulous quilt. And all hand stitched. I so admire handstitched quilts.
Beautiful Quilt Carrie, I love the red polka dot binding. Lovely hand quilting as well.
Gosh - what a keepsake, Carrie! The double wedding ring was so popular - I bet if it could talk it would have quite a story to tell!
