Anya Ink - One Layer Cards...

The challenge over on Anya Ink this week was One Layer Cards (one piece of cardstock including the card itself). For my card I took a piece of white cardstock and created a scalled card which I then ran through my Big Shot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I then ran some VersaMagic chalk ink over it to make it stand out. Where the embossing finished on the card I used some pearl bling on a strip (Mark Richards ones). The main image has been layered onto a scrap of the same cardstock which I have coloured to match the chalk ink. The image is a Wild Sprout called Chelsea from The Greeting Farm which has been coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E50/E51/E53
Clothing - BG09/C5/C7/C9/BG10
I have further embellished with a marabou feather from Craft Fairy, some ribbon that was from a gift wrapping set I had, a heart pin and two pearl pins. I have finished off with a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

Be sure to pop on over as the DT have made some fab one layer cards....and who knows you may be chosen in their "Top Three"....I was last week.

So more snow is forecast for today, and overnight...but thankfully so far we have only has some tiny flurries....can you tell I am bored with the snow now...the novelty as well and truly worn off!

Yesterday after Georgia's swimming lesson (which she did brilliantly at, after all our swimming in the holidays) we drove up to see Marlene and the family...plus the new addition...super cute Ollie....OMG he is gorgeous and soft, and such a cutie. For only the second time since we have been friends, have I visited when the sun was shining, so we enjoyed sitting outside during the day and having a wonderful dinner prepared by Marlene's hubby, outside in the evening. Of course a trip to Marlene's is not complete unless you go to The Range....so we did. I found us the MME Christmas pads...and while shopping the funniest thing happened. There was a Do Crafts Demo just finishing and as I was walking around the aisles a lady stopped and asked me if I had a blog.....of course I said "yes", and she said is it "Blogocks".....you will never guess, but I was recognised from my photo above....LOL. So a big !"Hi" to Emma (waves to Emma), it was lovely to meet and chat with you, and I hope your drive up to the Craft Show for "research" hasn't tired you too much.

Today we are having a quite day, I have to help Georgia with her spelling and her Numeracy homework and also some reading, plus do a little ironing and also hoovering....then I can craft some too.

Hope you all have a fab Sunday, and don't forget to check out the Anyone for Anya? Blog and join in with this weeks challenge.

***ETA - For all you Anya fans, check out the Club Anya Blog as they have been showing the new stamps coming on Tuesday.....My Guy Ian...a set of 2 different stamps with some sentiments...plus 80's Anya and a Girl Scout Anya, and Boy Scout Ian....cannot wait for Tuesday***

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #50

Here is my card using this weeks sketch over on Sketch Saturday. For my main image I have used one of my new stamps from The Greeting Farm. She is called "Annika" from the "Wild Sprouts£ range. I have coloured her with my new Copics....but apart from the skin and hair, I cannot remember what colours I used...silly me. The papers are Prima Marketing "Pulse Collection" and I have layered with some lovely irridescent papers from a pad by Craftwork Card. The flowers are a mix of Prima and Craft Fairy blossoms that I have attached with spacers and Doodlebug sugar coated brads. The leaves are punched with a Woodware punch. The gorgeous white embroidery anglais ribbon is a kit...possibly an old Jenny Bowlin kit. To finish off I have used a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

Below is a picture of the decorated inside...
Thanks to the DT for a lovely sketch and also for their beautiful cards.

Sadly David's Dad passed away this morning, so we are all filled with sadness today. My Father in Law was a kind sweet man, always there when you needed him, but never one to force himself or his opinions on anyone else. May is never a good month for us as we have lost so many loved ones in May over the years. With Georgia's 7th birthday next Saturday at least we have something to celebrate.
