Saturday Leftover Day.
While scanning I picked up four more King Aroo Sundays. Always a delight.

Couleur Royale
Tuesday Comic Strip Day.
In every bio or Jack Kent it is always stated that he selfsyndicated his strip King Aroo for many years after it stopped in the late fifties. But they never show any. I couldn't find a lot of them, but here at least are some from 1960. Along with two from the mationally syndicated years 1951 and 1956 - just for a bit of color.

The King Of Kent
Tuesday Comic Strip Day.
I have started scanning and preparing some of my longer comic strip runs. This is slow work, because often there are more strips in any Sunday section I have to do. Sometimes even at the back of single sheets. Anyway, here's where I got with King Aroo, a delightfull Pogoesk strip about a animalistic King and his subjects. Jack Kent wrote and drew the often poeticly silly strip for many years. For the first few years (which have been collected in two black and white volumes by IDW) he was officially syndicated. After that, he is said to have continued on his own. But when the drop-off point was and how long he actually went on, I do not know. Here is what Sundays I have of the second half of 1956, the fourth year of it's publication.
Dutch fellow collecor Arnaud sent me two King Aroo Sunday that were not in my run, so I have added them. You can recognize them by the superior color correction.

Help!
Anyone know what's going on with blogger? Why are all my images suddenly 8 DPI when you click them? Even the older ones that used to be okay? Oh, no not all the older ones. Just this weeks posts, including the King Aroo. Did I change something in the settings?
Hm... I just redid the King Aroo pages from last Monday and now they come across alright. Which means I probably have to redo the whole Louie thing as well...
A friend mailed me that the problem might be that I uploaded to many pictures in one day. After which they retroactively downsized all uploads for that day. I guess I should be happy they didn't downsize all my uploads in all my posts. I'll try and redo the Louie pages I scanned myself, hoping they'll work this time.
