Friday Comic Book Day.
Last week I showed an early issue of Dell's Howdy Doody. I don't think thi ater issue has the same artists, but it is similarely and delightfully wonky.

December Classic
Tuesday Comic Strip Day.
It's been a long time since I showed some Tom and Jerry strips. In an earlier (and well visited) post I showed most of April 1950. John Kricfalusi suggested the art might be by Gene Hazelton and although there are some similarities to his work, Italian expert Alberto Beccatini suggested an artist called Dan Gormley, who is supposed to have worked on the Tom and Jerry strips in the forties series Our Gang, which preceded the Tom and Jerry series from Dell. anyway, they are lovely and here are some more.
