The Curious Case of the Shoe Ads n the Late Forties
Wednesday Advertising Day.
I am always looking for oddball comic strip ads and this one caught my eye today. I have never seen an ad look so much like Bill Elder's work. And although he probably still had the advertising agency with Harvey Kurtzman and Charlie Stern in the socalled charles william harvey studio (no capitals), he was spending more and more time inking John Severin in stories for Standard and Prize. Still, it's worth a look. As far as I can see, these three were the only ones.
