Tag You're It!

Unfortunately this will be my last post for Creative Craft Cottage. The restaurant business has taken a lot of my time and I need to put my card-making on hold. (for now anyway!) My posts will be less often and perhaps only seasonally, such as the quarterly Coffee Lovers Blog hop each season.

This fortnight's challenge theme is...Tag You're It!  Onto our wonderful sponsors for this challenge...

I used this darling image called Valentine Kisses by Cute As A Button! She was colored in my favorite medium, of course, Prismacolor Pencils. I used Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Lilac and Spun Sugar for the soft background effect. The roses were created from scrap lavender card stock and edged with Seedless Preserves Ink.  The leaves were from some flowers found at Hobby Lobby.

I used Saddle Brown Staz On Ink to stamp some vintage lettering onto the background at the top of the tag....and accidentally stamped the corner onto her face!! (big oops) Hoping it's not terribly noticeable as I put a lot of work into this image and didn't want to start over again. Finished this tag using some tea-dyed lace, gold sequins, small glitter hearts and little brass heart charms.

I hope this creation helped inspire you to create your own tag and link it up for a chance to win digital images!

She was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and a colorless blender marker. The black mat is actually a piece of fun foam from the craft store! I put scotch foam tape on the back to make it stand out a little more. Also found this cute silver skull brad in my Halloween stash!

Link up your creations (up to 3 please) before February 5th for a chance to win digital stamps!
Gothic Deadly Nightshade

Sorry I haven't posted more often. With my new job taking up so much of my time, I have slowly had to push hobbies aside. Cardmaking is a passion, but I still haven't had the time to devote to it as I would like. My next post will possibly be my last for Creative Craft Cottage. Hopefully in the future as life gets less hectic, I can come back to craft more! Love you all and thank you for reading to the end!  <3 Annie

Release the Glitter at Creative Craft Cottage!

Challenge #55 is underway at Creative Craft Cottage! The theme is:  Release the Glitter!

I'm using this darling image from our sponsor, Karleigh Sue, titled Prissy Peacock.
Sponsor

She was colored in Prismacolor Pencils and fussy cut along one side of the paper only.  I wanted to have part of the image over this gold glittery ribbon I found at Dollar General!

The blue/purple/white sheet of cardstock was scrap a friend was not going to use, so I took it to use for this card! (It went beautifully with the colors I already picked out for Prissy Peacock!)

Join us by linking up your glittery project by January 19th 2016 for a chance to win digital stamps!

Extra sparkle added to gifts this year!

Add some sparkle is the newest challenge at Creative Craft Cottage! I was inspired to use this gorgeous image by our sponsor while putting together gift I'm taking home for Christmas this year.

Lacy sunshine is this challenge's sponsor and this darling image is titled "Snow Bunny Ethereal Enchantress".
Sponsor

She was colored in my favorite medium....Prismacolor Pencils of course!  I used a white gelly roll pen to brighten the white spots in her eyes after coloring.  Her "faux fur trim" (because fairies would never wear real fur!) is filled in with Stardust Glitter Stickles.  I wish the glitter would show better in the photos, but it's gorgeous in person!

Link up your sparkly project by Dec 4th for a chance to win!

Paper Crafting Tic Tac Toe!

The newest Challenge at Melonheadz starts today and we are playing Tic Tac Toe!

How do you play? Glad you asked! Using the board below, make a creation using 3 items in a row. (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) My card, for example, uses Ribbon, Die Cuts and Pearls/Bling to make a diagonal row.

The owls were colored with Prismacolor Pencils and coated with Glossy Accents. I adore this "friend" word die cut from Catherine Pooler's Stamp of Approval 1st Edition Box!

The papers used are from My Mind's Eye 12 x 12 paper pad called Sparkling Sleigh Ride. The ribbon was a wonderful deal at 0.39 cents for an entire roll at Canton Texas Trade Days!! (It was sun bleached, but the off white color still matched my papers beautifully!)

The sentiment is from Paper Pumpkin's September Kit with StazOn ink in Saddle Brown. I used a die from Spellbinders Labels and Tags Die set and finished off with tiny half pearls from a nail art kit.

Link up by November 22nd, 2015 for a chance to win your choice of digital stamps!

Anything Goes Challenge at Creative Craft Cottage!

The theme for challenge #50 at Creative Craft Cottage is: Anything Goes! It's still October, so I had to stick with the Halloween vibe.
Sponsor
This awesome cutting file is by our sponsors this week: The Cutting Cafe!

I do not own any cutting machines. These images were cut by hand, distressed using Tim Holtz Distress Ink and glued together using a Zig 2 way glue pen.

For the spots on the witch's leggings, I used a hole punch on green card stock. On top of a scrap magazine, I held each circle still using a Quick Stick while tracing the outer edge with a green Sharpie marker.

This darling kitty stamp was stamped on yellow paper using Jet Black StazOn ink. Versamark Frost ink was placed on top and embossed with WOW clear embossing powder. I love the hint of shimmer Versamark Frost leaves behind!

This cute step card pattern was also from The Cutting Cafe. The slit in the center of the card stock can be cut easily using a ruler and X-acto knife on a cutting board or mat. Link up any of your fun creations by November 5th 2015 for a chance to win!

Halloween or Harvest

This newest Melonheadz Challenge theme is... - Halloween / Harvest!  This is my favorite season of the year and I just love this cute bat image from Melonheadz!

I resized and flipped the image using Microsoft Word and printed 3 copies of this little guy. They were colored using Prismacolor Pencils and a colorless blender marker. I used a white Gelly Roll pen to add spots on their bellies and flying dash lines.

The patterned card stock is from a Mambi Sheets Halloween paper pad. I distressed the edges of a piece of white card stock and the edges of the patterned paper using Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. Scotch foam tape behind the bats adds a little dimension and finished the card using a sentiment from the September version of the Paper Pumpkin Kit.

What's My Favorite Color?

New challenge (#49) at Creative Craft Cottage starts today! The topic: Your Favorite Color!  My favorite color(s) change depending on the season.  Currently in October, which is my favorite month of the year, I love purple and green for Halloween!

Of course you can add orange and black into that mix as well. These 4 colors just scream fall to me...or, Happy Halloween, in this case! This darling image is by Lacy Sunshine (this fortnight's sponsor!) and is called Fangletta
Sponsor
I colored her using Prismacolor Pencils and distressed around the image using Bundled Sage Distress Ink.

I used a Mambi Sheets Halloween paper pad and cut the sentiment from one of the 12x12 patterned papers. The pretty purple foil sheet is from that same paper pad. Glossy accents were added on her eyes and the 3 little bats.

I had a roll of black glitter tape from The Paper Studio and punched 3 little cats from it using a punch found at Joann's.  Only had to remove the release paper from the back of these tiny pieces after punching. So much easier than messy loose glitter!

Link up your project using your favorite color by October 19th 2015 for a chance to win your choice of digital stamps!

Final Day for the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop!

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2015/09/2015-fall-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

Today, October 2nd, is the final day to link up your fall drink creation to be entered to win! Here is my last project using an adorable owl digital stamp by Jessica Lynn and a sentiment by TLC Creations.

It just HAD to be a shaker card...and what better element to use than ground coffee! I had some chunky glitter and gold sequins from Dollar Tree that I mixed in with a tablespoon of ground coffee. Of course, 1 tablespoon was way to much for this small space and I ended up pouring some out after adhering the front panel...oops!

I wanted to make sure the cute little owl was seen, so I printed this image twice on 65lb card stock. The owl was colored with Prismacolor Pencils to match the orange patterned card stock and fussy cut. I used two layers of foam tape to create the inside of the shaker and adhered the owl / coffee beans on top of the acetate after assembly so they can be seen even if the coffee covers the image.

Following Sandy Allnock's advise in Lessons 1 & 3 of her Go for the Gold Class, I created my own "gold paper" using a Stampendous Gold Ink pad on the edges of my 110 lb Recollections card stock base. This class is FREE, very informative and you should follow the link to check it out!

Your Kindness Warms My Heart - Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2015/09/2015-fall-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

It's day 7 of the bloghop but only post #6 for me as I was quite busy yesterday and didn't have a chance to make an extra card. Turns out my husband got a new job and we are preparing to move in 2 weeks - lots to do!

Stamped these cute cups from Fiskars Latte Love onto watercolor paper with Saddle Brown StazOn waterproof ink plus the sentiment to match. After another relaxing session of water coloring, I let this piece dry and decided to play with my small circle dies.

After adhering the water color paper to my card base, I placed these circles back in layers to give a little dimension.   Gold Stickles was used to create the small dash lines around the watercolor paper piece.

Notes were also taken from Lessons by Sandy Allnock's Go for the Gold class. In Lesson 5 she uses a gold pen to create embellishments on the Christmas tree as well as make the cute lights stand out on her card.  I don't have the same brand, but instead used Gold Stickles to create my own dash line embellishments around the border.

The polka dot paper is from this paper pad I found at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section....only $6.00!! (Must've been left over from last year...but who will know?!)
Link up your fall coffee/tea/cocoa creation HERE by October 2nd for a chance to win fun paper crafting prizes and please leave me some comment love! Enjoy!
