Wedding Day (1)a

This is the first of a few posts today. I have a fantastic wedding party gift tutorial to share with you a little later today and another prize announcement so check back again soon.

I took to heart the things you wanted to see today and I also stuck with some of the ones I was originally planning to share with you. I will definitely be making more things to share with you including a program, save the date card and much more. I will share those a few days after the release.

The general consensus for everyone is QUICK and EASY--These are the 5 steps or less cards.

CARD 1: First up is a thank you card. Using this simple layout you can be sure to mass produce these cards as thank yous by changing the colours to coordinate with your wedding colours and choosing one of many coordinate images from Wedding Day.

Step 1
I cut out a rectangle 3.5x2.5 in black and adhered a layer of aqua mist 3.25x2.25. I also cut out a .75 inch strip of spring moss.
Step 2
I stamped randomnly on the aqua mist using aqua mist ink to create a monochromatic look.
Step 3
I stamp on the satin ribbon and set aside to dry before adhering it to the strip of spring moss.
Step 4
Adhere all layers and decorate with an embelishment (paper flowers are nice, primas, a brad, the scalloped circle, the scalloped square, etc)

CARD 2: Next is a card that can be used for any occasion. Because I am working with Wedding Day, i decided this could be a perfect card for the new couple. You can personalize this card by adding the couples last name under Mr. and Mrs.

Step 1

I cut 3/4x4 inch strip of black cardstock and adhered it to the cardstock
Step 2
I stamped the circular flourish with a circle nestabilities die and punched out the centre using the 1 1/4 inch EK Success punch. Adhere.
Step 3
Stamp the sentiment Mr and Mrs

CARD 3: I just love flourishes and this was such a simple design too!

Step 1

I stamped the flourish circle image in the centre of the card.
Step 2
I stamped the square flourish image from the circle to the edge of the paper on both sides.
Step 3
I punched out a 1 1/4 inch circle, stamped my centre image and placed it in the centre of the circle using a pop dot.
Step 4
I stamped the sentiment Happily Ever After.
Designer Note: Turn it vertical and you have a watch!!!!

Card 4 I absolutely adore that the Wedding Day set is so versatile. With words like Love, Eternity, Happy Anniversary...just to name a few, this is so much more than just a wedding set.
I created an anniversary card, which could really be an all occasions card too.

Step 1
I stamped randomly over the entire surface of the paper using 3 different ink colours and two different sized flourishes.
Step 2
I stamped the square flourish on a strip of 3/4 inch paper and then stamped anniversary over top.
Step 3
I adhered .5 inch strip of black cardstock as well as a strip of scallops and 2 inch strip of white cardstock.
Step 4
I fasten prima flowers to the card using a brad.

My Challenge card
I was issued a challenge by one of my readers to make something other than a wedding or anniversary card. (Sorry for the poor lighting...I can't adjust this lighting in this card without the colours being WAY OFF so I left it untouched)

How about those numbers for adding special dates to your cards or tags?I love that you can personalize a card by adding an important date. This is perfect for birthday's, anniversaries, baby births, weddings, new years, Christmas and the winter holidays....oh the possibilities are endless. Note: Other stamp set used was Trajan Monogram Edition by PTI

I was also asked to share another wedding favour...

Here is a table number card (you could easily place the guests name in the centre for a place setting card too)

I saved the best for last today!!!
I created a personalized bracelet for the bride, bridesmaid, maid of honour etc... This is a
7 Gypsies antique brass naked bracelet I have had this in my collection for a while and it was Debbie Olson that recently inspired me to pull it out and use it once and for all! It was so simple to create...

Step 1
I stamped my images and then place the round pebble over top and cut around it.
Step 2
I adhered the back side of the stamped images and glued them to the round circles.
Step 3
I connected all of my designs together and fastened them with pliers.
Step 4
I stamped my sentiment and punched it out using the EK Success word window.

I'd love to hear what your fav project is today...also check out the post below for some exciting news.

Wedding Day (2)

I am so excited about today's projects--yes 2 full tutorials!!!!

if you have been following along since the beginning of the countdown you know I mentioned I have some fun prizes in store. So I am going to kick off the fun today...make sure you read through to find out how you can WIN.

You may have noticed that I have a theme going on here. My absolute favourite colour is green so I am absolutely delighted by PTI's addition of Spring Moss. I hope you are too.

Candle Centre Piece
Candles are so elegant so it makes sense to use as or with your centre piece. Again, my goal for this release is to show you EASY ways to make your own wedding ensembles. The total time to make this project was 10 minutes and that is being generous! And you know what's even better than that? The project cost $1.25 CAD to make. If you add the base tray and the flowers it costs $4.50 CAD.

Step 1
Begin by stamping the large oval on a piece of white tissue paper in spring moss, followed by Wedding Day in black and August 8, 2008 in black too. Note: You only want to stamp on white tissue paper for a white candle.

Step 2
Cut out the image as close as possible.

Step 3

Glue the tissue paper to the candle.

Step 4
Wrap a piece of wax paper around the candle as tightly as possible and heat until the image darkens. Peel back slowly and ensure all areas have melted into the candle.

Tip: When heating do not apply heat directly over top of the image (the wax will run). Rather, heat evenly in a back and forth movement over the entire stamped surface.

Step 5
Attach ribbon at the bottom.

Supplies
paper: Stampers Select White Cardstock by Papertrey Ink
ink: Black Palette, Perfect Match Spring Moss by PTI
stamps: Wedding Day (Urban Design) by Papertrey Ink
accessories: Spring Moss Satin Ribbon by Papertrey Ink, prima flowers
tools: scissors
misc: tissue paper

Personalized Wedding Favour

Again, the key to making your wedding favours is making the task quickly reproducible with the least amount of steps.

Step 1
Cut a piece of cardstock into a square 7.25x7.25 and stamp randomnly. I am showcasing white and spring moss but I also added black at the last minute which is not shown in this photo.

Step 2
Next, I turned the cardstock square to form a diamond and folded the right side of the paper across centre (try and avoid creasing). Repeat with the left side forming a cone. Then I adhered the left side (to secure) with double sided sticky tape.

Step 2
Then I filled the cone (I put pebbles to show you the depth etc) but you can put candies, flower seeds, flower bulbs etc of your choice. At this point I folded the tip over the opening (again avoid creasing paper).

Step 3
Now that the main wedding favour is complete I added the final touches. I stamped the flourished circle and cut it out using the nestabilities circle. I punched out Sara and Thomas with the 1 1/4th inch circle punch and adhered it to the centre of the circle with a pop dot.

I also decided to test out Lisa's FAB tutorial and stamp the decorative square image directly onto the twill ribbon to keep with the flourish theme.

Lastly, I formed the ribbon into a loop and placed it onto the wedding favour using a glue dot and secured the label to ribbon with a few pop dots.

Another variation of the flourished circle. I know how some people are LOVING the 08.08.08 date!

Wedding Day (3)

If you are visiting via Nichole's blog today you surely know that I have something up my sleeve...

How's that for a cuff link? *lol*

Today's project is a very simple wedding invitation. The nice thing about hand crafted wedding invitations is they can be taken from simple to detailed by simply adding more stamping or embellishments etc. And remember, when you have 100+ invites to make, you want to keep as simple as possible.

Step 1
I began by cutting 2 5.25x11 sheets of kraft paper and scoring them both at 5.5

Step 2
Next I stamped my image on the outside of one of the pieces of kraft cardstock after which I used a 1 1/4 circle punch to punch a hole through the centre.

I created the peek-a-book hole and added the date and some decorative images to the centre of the whole. Notice I am able to customize my date. If you like the traditional month, day and year listed you will be pleased to know that you could have also stamped August 8, 2008 using Wedding Day too! The option is yours!!!!

Step 3
Adhere the two pieces of kraft cardstock together in the centre (one card overlaps the other)

Step 4

As I have finished decorating most of the outside of the card, I decided to work on the inside.
I cut
2- 5x 5.25 sheets of spring moss
1- 3.5x4.25 sheet of spring moss
and used the corner rounder to round all the pieces of cardstock. Adhere them to the inside of the card.

Step 5
Print out your invitation, ceremony information and RSVP on white cardstock. Cut both the invitation and ceremony information to 4.75x5 sheets of white. Cut the RSVP to 3.25x 4 sheet of white. Using the corner rounder, round the edges. You can see that I chose to stamp a few simple images to accent the information and then adhered them.

Note: The decorative corner coordinates with the decorative square seen on Nichole's and Taylor's sneak peaks, as well as the circle from today's project and the decorative bar used on the wedding planner--what can I say...I like coordinating things!

I included this black strip to hold the RSVP in place so that it can be removed for convenience.

As a final touch I added a strip of black and some ribbon to the outside of my card.

I hope you have a super day...make sure you check out Nichole's blog and Lisa's blog for some sneak peaks using Wedding Day.
