CHA and a card

CHA=Craft and Hobby Association (the BIG show) in Anaheim, California this weekend and also in Orlando, Florida this summer.

Who else is excited about all the CHA sneak peaks??? My ALL TIME FAVOURITE patterned paper company October Afternoon unveiled a new line *in love* called Cherry Hill. I am talking SERIOUS eye candy...and did you see all the beautiful lines from Prima???

One of the things I shared in my write up for PTI last year was that I am a trend watcher. I absolutely love trends although I have to admit, living in a small little town, my wardrobe and hair style certainly does not reflect it--that will all change this year *lol* moving to the big city.

If you missed some of the trendy reveals this past week or even this weekend and want to catch up be sure to stop Lifetime Moments because they collected a bunch of sneak peaks for you. And don't forget to live vicariously through those bloggers who are attending CHA--they often share lots of the goods.

I have been a little under the weather again and took a few days off to tend to my family and lay in bed again. Our family has had their share of colds and flus this season...I hope this is the last one!

Onto today's card...just got my order from Stamping Bella!!! Isn't this love bug adorable?

Ipods--and a card.

One of my post prized possessions from the holiday season was a special gift I received from my mum. Now let me tell you, I am SO NOT the bells and whistles kinda gal. I like my gadgets plain and simple. I leave the scary stuff to my husband. Anyways, mum bought us each an i-pod shuffle for Christmas so now we can all listen to our tunes on our own accord. This has actually made for a silent back seat during our trips out of town--AMAZING for our two kiddos! They love choosing their music. And I love listening to mine too especially during a workout or cooking.

So what does this have to do with my card? Well it's what inspired me to use my ipodabella ??? Now ipodabella has been in my possession for a while now and has been screaming for ink. In addition, I dragged out some good friends, my Koh-i-noor woodless pencils. It seems after my Copic purchase I have ignored my pencils. During my craft room organization and purge I found them and decided I would use them. And you will notice I brought out the sewing machine too (thanks GinaK!).

I outlined her using a white pencil to add some dimension. I have to tell you I love kraft paper and colouring--they are meant for each other.

Congratulations.

I hope to post finds you well. I took a needed break yesterday--we just got home from a long journey and then I immediately packed up my things and headed for a ladies night out. We scrapbooked, made cards and chatted until the wee hours of the morning (4AM!!!--I haven't done that since I was in my 20s). Then today we attended a big Father's Day BBQ at our friends house.

So here it is, the last baby card for a bit.

Something a brewing?

I think it is Witchybella or maybe that CHF release *wink*. Seriously I don't like Halloween and yet these images keep appearing on my blog *lol* It seems that many people do like Halloween so I am just going with the flow with what creations come from these fingers of mine...
I created this card for today's sketch challenge. Again, it is SOOO nice to be involved in the challenges again. And in case you are wondering that fuzzy black thing in the corner is a spider. He looks WAY cuter in person. I tried to get a close up but it just turns into a blur.

Paper:Creepy Crawly DP (SU!), Really Rust (SU!), Basic Black (SU!), Whisper White (SU!)
Ink: Jet Black StazOn (SU!)
Stamp Set(s): Witchybella (Stamping Bella)
Accessories: Copic Markers, Circle Punches (SU!), Fuzzy Spider (misc stash), Glitter Gelly Roll (Sakura)

Have a terrific day!
I will be away from the computer for a few days so you won't be seeing any new posts. Don't worry tho, I am sure I will have something fun to share with you on the weekend.

My Baby Phat...

One of the challenges was to create a card that was twisted...I don't often stamp something and think...hmmm how can I make this twisted but I think the idea is rather clever. As many of you know there is a designer who makes clothes and the line is called baby phat. I always remember thinking that maternity clothes were never too flattering. After being pregnant for what seemed like 3 years (the kids are 14 months apart) I can totally appreciate wanting to look good.

I dressed my bella up (paper piecing) and she is ready to hit the runway with her baby phat! I just love this preggers bella!

I was a little disappointed with the quality of this photo. My bella actually has a neutral skin tone not a PINK tone *lol*. I am not sure why her belly is so pink compared to her face but that is what the camera did to her! It looks fine IRL.

Recipe

Paper: Sahara Sand, Basic Black, 7 Gypsies DP
Ink: Basic Black
Stamp Set(s): PregaBella (Stamping Bella), Snap Stamps (Karen Foster)
Accessories:
Stampin' Write Markers, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Circle Template (Provo Craft), Slit Punch, Hole Punch, Scalloped Rectangle Punch

Card size is 5 x5.25

I sure hope it is nice and sunny where you are! We are LOVING the sunshine here.

Papertrey Heaven and Bellas

Ok first of all, if you haven't been to Nichole's blog in the last few days then you are missing out! Next, if you LOVE what is on Nichole's blog it is now available on the Papertrey Ink website. Have YOU SEEN the coordinating stamp sets called Borders and Corners for the Marvy punches?...Somebody pinch me! I wanted to order all 5 but I knew I had to refrain and only order 3 *lol* They have limited quantities on the stamp sets this month so don't wait too long to order if you want them YESTERDAY like me *wink*. Now the patience will begin. The only problem I have is they can't get here fast enough.

So the yard sale is over. I am so relieved...and I bet my friend Angila is too. We started at 8 this morning and planned to pack up by 1PM but every time we did we had someone else show up...so that is why I didn't post earlier...that and I needed to feed and bath my kids and order my new stamps of course *lol*.

On a little side note, I have to say I am TOTALLY impressed by a blogging lady out there. When I first started reading her blog and looking at her cards I knew she was someone to follow. But man...this lady is knocking my socks off these days. Amy Westerman YOU'VE GOT TALENT!

Now, for that card I promised. If you had seen the pile-o-junk I had to climb over to get to this card you would have laughed at me. Remember, I cleared out my stamp room for the yard sale (just in case it rained...which it didn't...now I have a sunburn!!!) and EVERYTHING is sitting in my pile in my laundry room. It is a royal disaster. You will therefore note that my photo is not it's usual self...I have no lights or set up going on so I sat my card on the floor and took a photo for you!

Here is my very first LONG NOTE and here are my bellas...(click on the photo to enlarge it)

A Bella and Fella wedding

I created the base for this card a few months ago and just put the finishing touches on it tonight. My plan was to create something new with my NEW SU!!! products (my first catty order arrived today *smiles*) but I have decided to have a yard sale this weekend and I am frantically going through my stamping and scrapping supplies and purging *gulp*. I have literally dissembled my stamp room until Sunday. Everything is either in a box and/or stacked in the untouchable corner. Do you have any idea how hard it is to have ALL THIS NEW STUFF and not be able to do anything with it? *lol*

SCS ATC Round #1

My DH hijacked my laptop the last few days and I haven't had much time to visit your blogs. SO if you haven't heard from me in a while that is why. In fact, it is so bad that I have hardly had time to check my e-mails. He has been making a slideshow for a friend of ours who just got accepted to the RCMP. It is an exciting time (as well as scary) for him and his family. We had a special evening dedicated to him and he really enjoyed the show. Now of course DH is burning copies of the show on MY COMPUTER! *hehe*
As promised, I am going to show you the SCS ATCs I have been working on the past few weeks. It really didn't take me that long to make them, I just made them in steps. They will be in the mail tomorrow now that I have labeled them.
I forgot how much I love these cute little Artist Trading Cards. They are so simple to make and decorate. A 2.5x3.5 space is not very big. I almost had to rethink this card because my fella was taking up too much of the space. But I managed to fit everything I needed to on the card.

Is it food for thought or food for card?

I just acquired a few special stamps this week. Actually, let's be honest, I acquired a lot more than that but I will just say a few for now *lol* and let you see the rest of them in the coming weeks. I seriously have been stamp deprived the past few days. I have been away from my stamp room for 2 full days and I have had stamps waiting...no wait...calling my name!
Although I was away from home I had a great lil' family reunion with my brother and mum as well as my kids. Of course DH is working (as usual) so he wasn't able to make the trip. Yesterday we drove up to my FAV LSS on the island and would you believe I am now a VIP customer ?*lol* Ya...it's time to cut up the credit cards especially when the reward you for spending a chunk of change. I was so excited to add to my growing collection of Marvy punches and Bellas. While I pre-ordered some of the punches on Papertrey Ink I didn't order nearly as many as I wanted. So when I walked into my LSS and she had them hanging off the wall, I was a 2 year old who found some candy. Have you ever seen a 31 year old jumping up and down with excitement? Well that was me; the crazy lady in the scrapbooking store.

Now to the food...the card food of course.

Oh I just LOVE this fella and his bella. They are the cutest couple. Don't ya think?
I don't know what it is about this card but it is truly one of my most favourite cards. Perhaps what I like about it is that it has all the elements I adore: the punches, the paper, the layout, the stamped images on the DP, the fella and his bella, the piercing, the brads, the ribbon...do you see where this is going?Yes...I'll say it again, I love this card.
