Origami Shirt Fun!

The other day I made this origami shirt card for the TLC119 on SCS but I never did get a chance to upload it. I figured a surfing/beach shirt card was in order for the area I live in. I keep mentioning I live in the sticks but I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the Great White North (aka Canada). Every year we get 1.5 million tourists in the area to see this:

So as you can imagine, when I saw the challenge I knew exactly what DP I was going to use and how I wanted this card to turn out. I just had to add Surf Ukee (short for my town's name) with the Karen Foster snap stamps. I figured this card might appeal to some of the tourists that visit our local craft fairs. After all who doesn't want a surf shirt card? *wink*

Fun in the Sun Card Recipe:

Paper: Whisper White, Summer Sun, Cranberry Crisp, DP (Karen Foster and Misc)
Ink: Noir Black (Palette), Summer Sun Craft, Cranberry Crisp Classic
Stamp Set(s): Beach (Pink Cat Studio), Snap Stamps (Karen Foster), Best Blossoms
Accessories: Coluzzle, Circle Template, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder (Provo Craft)

Note: This card is 5.25x5.25

Stay tuned tomorrow for one of my most FAV bella/fella cards. I had a proud card maker moment when I designed that card and I have been chomping at the bit to share it with you.

Because I love to stamp and you do too!

Blog Candy Winner and 50's card

First of all can I just say 199 comments!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!
The random generator drew 196!
Now, CONGRATULATIONS goes to: ROBIN STEWART who said:
A very SIMPLE tool, my stapler. It is the best and it is amazing how creative you can be with it. Colours frames, texture and of course attaching stuff. I would also LOVE to get a long armed one. You can also colour plain silver staples with the new multi-pack of jiffy markers or with stayz on and the colours are endless.
Congrats on the 50000. I remember your 1st post
Robin, please contact me with your snail mail so that I can get your goodies out on Monday!

Have you ever felt like you were born during the wrong time? I just LOVE the 50s. When I saw the Retro 50's stamp set from Pink Cat Studio I was so excited. I never realized how much I loved the 50s until we received the Back to the Future trilogy some years back. I have watched those shows so many times. My favourite part is in episode one/two when Marty goes back to the 50s and attends the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance.
Don't get me wrong, I do love the time I live in, hey I don't think I would make it without all these great new scrapbooking and stamping gadgets, but I have to say I adore this stamp set and it really makes me feel like I "missed" the past.
I created a card, based on a layout Beate shared this past week from Sketch This using my swell new set!

Thank you all again for your continued visits. I want to reassure you that your comments and e-mails mean a lot to me. I received an e-mail today asking for card dimensions for the cards. If the card is different from the normal 5.5x4.25 I will make sure to include it in all future posts.
