My Baby Phat...

One of the challenges was to create a card that was twisted...I don't often stamp something and think...hmmm how can I make this twisted but I think the idea is rather clever. As many of you know there is a designer who makes clothes and the line is called baby phat. I always remember thinking that maternity clothes were never too flattering. After being pregnant for what seemed like 3 years (the kids are 14 months apart) I can totally appreciate wanting to look good.

I dressed my bella up (paper piecing) and she is ready to hit the runway with her baby phat! I just love this preggers bella!

I was a little disappointed with the quality of this photo. My bella actually has a neutral skin tone not a PINK tone *lol*. I am not sure why her belly is so pink compared to her face but that is what the camera did to her! It looks fine IRL.

Recipe

Paper: Sahara Sand, Basic Black, 7 Gypsies DP
Ink: Basic Black
Stamp Set(s): PregaBella (Stamping Bella), Snap Stamps (Karen Foster)
Accessories:
Stampin' Write Markers, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Circle Template (Provo Craft), Slit Punch, Hole Punch, Scalloped Rectangle Punch

Card size is 5 x5.25

I sure hope it is nice and sunny where you are! We are LOVING the sunshine here.

My Family Squash Book...sneak peak

I have said it once and I will say it again, Scor-Pal is awesome! I use it every day and love the convenience of it. In fact, it has prompted me to make all sorts of things. Have you visited the projects area recently? I made this squash book which will be featured on the site later this month but of course since I have a few faithful readers I wanted to give you a sneak peak! Although the belly band is lower in this photo I actually have it pushed up over the word family, I just wanted you to see the word. I'll share some close ups once it has been uploaded onto the site.

My Family Squash Book Recipe

SCS ATC Round #1

My DH hijacked my laptop the last few days and I haven't had much time to visit your blogs. SO if you haven't heard from me in a while that is why. In fact, it is so bad that I have hardly had time to check my e-mails. He has been making a slideshow for a friend of ours who just got accepted to the RCMP. It is an exciting time (as well as scary) for him and his family. We had a special evening dedicated to him and he really enjoyed the show. Now of course DH is burning copies of the show on MY COMPUTER! *hehe*
As promised, I am going to show you the SCS ATCs I have been working on the past few weeks. It really didn't take me that long to make them, I just made them in steps. They will be in the mail tomorrow now that I have labeled them.
I forgot how much I love these cute little Artist Trading Cards. They are so simple to make and decorate. A 2.5x3.5 space is not very big. I almost had to rethink this card because my fella was taking up too much of the space. But I managed to fit everything I needed to on the card.

Father's Day for the kids

The kids really enjoyed the stamp camp! I took a photo of two of the items that the kids made during their stamp camp.
This class was offered to children around 6-12 years of age. The majority of the children that attend my events are between 8-10. Since they are younger you have to plan for things that are not too complicated. I am sure we can all appreciate that. In addition, the children only had 1 hour to complete 3 projects and a card so they needed to be able to create them relatively quickly.

Fella and his Bella

Oh I just LOVE this fella and his bella. They are the cutest couple. Don't ya think?
I don't know what it is about this card but it is truly one of my most favourite cards. Perhaps what I like about it is that it has all the elements I adore: the punches, the paper, the layout, the stamped images on the DP, the fella and his bella, the piercing, the brads, the ribbon...do you see where this is going?Yes...I'll say it again, I love this card.

Origami Shirt Fun!

The other day I made this origami shirt card for the TLC119 on SCS but I never did get a chance to upload it. I figured a surfing/beach shirt card was in order for the area I live in. I keep mentioning I live in the sticks but I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the Great White North (aka Canada). Every year we get 1.5 million tourists in the area to see this:

So as you can imagine, when I saw the challenge I knew exactly what DP I was going to use and how I wanted this card to turn out. I just had to add Surf Ukee (short for my town's name) with the Karen Foster snap stamps. I figured this card might appeal to some of the tourists that visit our local craft fairs. After all who doesn't want a surf shirt card? *wink*

Fun in the Sun Card Recipe:

Paper: Whisper White, Summer Sun, Cranberry Crisp, DP (Karen Foster and Misc)
Ink: Noir Black (Palette), Summer Sun Craft, Cranberry Crisp Classic
Stamp Set(s): Beach (Pink Cat Studio), Snap Stamps (Karen Foster), Best Blossoms
Accessories: Coluzzle, Circle Template, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder (Provo Craft)

Note: This card is 5.25x5.25

Stay tuned tomorrow for one of my most FAV bella/fella cards. I had a proud card maker moment when I designed that card and I have been chomping at the bit to share it with you.

Getting down with the monkeys!

You have to love it when the mail day is a good one! And it's even better when you get twice the fun! And it is THE BEST when you get a card from Beate!!! Beate sent me some of those Changito images I have been drooling over. I placed an order about a month ago for those monkeys but my local supplier (4 hours away hehe) can't get them until July when she places her order. So I figured I would sit patiently until Beate came to the rescue!!! Thank you Beate for making my day. I have had a lot of fun playing with Changito and his buds.
I also received my Karen Foster snap stamps in the mail too. I was so excited and have been using them all day long. I also created a few cards to get me through the next few days while I visit with my mum and brother. We are having a nice lil' family reunion. The kids and I can't wait! Too bad DH has to work.
So back to the cards...I decided to share Beate's card first (of course hers ROCKS!) and then one of my newly created cards using one of the images she sent me.

Isn't it cute??? Well with a saying like that I had to break out the music and let the monkeys swing!!! Okay, we actually just got down to some monkey business...*lol*
