The Sweetest Thing.

Are you ready for a little love? I got creative the other day...like outside of the box creative when I came up with this one. Have I told you lately how much I love my scor-pal??? So imagine how it was when scor-pal met cuttlebug...it truly was the sweetest thing! TADA!

Upon closer examination you will notice that I have created some good looking texture. For those of you who have never used a scor-pal, in order to achieve this embossed look, you "scor" the inside of your card to get these beautiful ridges after which I ran it through the cuttlebug. I placed the cuttlebug along the edge of the card only since I didn't want the dot pattern to take over my card. I actually used my gel pen to colour all those dots but of course could have easily sponged white pigment ink over the top as well. I also created a ridge at the top running horizontally and then added the black trim to add punch to the card and tie in with the ribbon.

Since I have been all "blah blah" about Making Memories these days (fun times over on their blog!) I thought it would be appropriate to show you how much I like their product. If you know me personally I like it because it's all matchy match *blush*

{note}worthy sketch.

Our So Sketchy group assignment was perfect! Although I have to admit I had to go looking for my creative memories cutters from way back when to find the right size oval--I forgot I even had those!

So I must tell you I am IN LOVE with all the Making Memories lines these days. Their patterned paper is delicious! How could you not love {note}worthy or passport?...or what about their brand new lines Fa La La and Paperie??? (Making Memories blog)

After Ally assigned us our card sketch I knew instantly that I would use some of my {note}worthy goodies. And since I am a fan of clear stuff I knew I needed to add a clear panel and stamp the flourish from Beautiful (Rummage Bin Collection) by Cornish Heritage Farms.

Beautiful, beautiful, beatiful F-L-O-W-E-R...

I wrote that title to a tune in my head *lol* just wanted to let you know that I really am crazy! *wink*
I figure you might as well have fun in life. My poor kids get toothbrushing songs, songs for washing their hands, songs at dinner, car songs and bedtime songs...I guess we just like to sing.
What reminded me of singing was Julie Ebersole's SCS Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes announcement! Isn't she a HOOT?! She cracks me up with her fun, adventurous nature of telling a story. If you haven't checked it out yet, Julie just announced the new enhanced membership for fan club members. Let me tell you it is worth EVERY penny! The card I made tonight was based on one of the central themes revealed for this months Lost and Found gallery. You'll have to check it out to know what I am talking about *wink*. Oh speaking of teases...stay tuned to my blog for a CHF announcement on some of their new releases Monday morning! I can hardly wait to share a few tidbits.

Before you run away to your day, I must tell you I have been having a HORRIBLE time with my lighting (for cards). My *sweet* DH took apart my BEST light and I have been running around trying to find the best light (both natural and unnatural). Things should be back to normal next week after we make a trip out of our small community to do "the shop" in a BIG community. I know what I will be buying *wink*

Have a terrific stamping Sunday.

Because I love to stamp and you do too!

Dirt on The Cowboy...

I am still OBSESSED with "cowboys" *lol* and of course with sharing my Dirty Dare challenge cards. I have yet to upload this (an others) in my gallery...there just hasn't been time lately. In fact, I only just got around to taking a photo of this card.
One challenge was to use chipboard and another challenge was distressing (yes it's a 2-in-1 card!). I thought a masculine card was in order and I figured some monogramming might be fun with this bronc buster! The initials "SDG" are those of my DH. He certainly is not the western type of guy but he will always be my cowboy since he captured my heart.

Recipe
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Outlaw DP
Ink: Really Rust, Chocolate Chip
Stamp Set(s): Bronc Buster, Wanted
Accessories: Cutter Kit, Photo Corner, Vintage Brads, Paper Piercer, Hemp Twine, Chipboard Letter (Making Memories), Sponge

Another vellum card!

As I told you, I had SOO much fun doing the first vellum card that I could barely contain myself for the remainder of the DD challenges *lol*
In response to the question I received yesterday...You can colour your image from underneath for a subtle effect or on top for a more bold effect. Both of these cards (yesterday's post and today's post) were coloured on top.

Recipe
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey DP, Vellum Cardstock
Ink: Jet Black Staz On
Stamp Set(s): Butterfly Kisses (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Vintage Brads, Paper Piercer, Metal Titles (Making Memories), Ticket Corner Punch, Dimensionals, Stylus, Stampin' Write Markers

Note: Card Size is 5.25x5.25

Life has been really busy these past few days. The kids have been in gymnastics camp all week and the weather has been good so we that we have been away from the house A LOT! That's a good thing since DH is a shift worker and us out of the house means more sleep for him *smiles* I have some more cards (for other DD Challenges) I have yet to take photos of and plan to share them very soon.

Because I love to stamp and you do too!

Monogram R and Stamp Room

R is for retreat OBVIOUSLY! Cause that is what my new room is turning into. Okay, it is the same old room but I am redesigning again and believe it or not, it is so that I can share the space with the family. We are calling it the hobby room/office. As I work online it only made sense to add my office to my craft room. It will be nice to upload my cards a little quicker too. You'll notice that my background has changed from my hall floor *lol* back to the white background. I am still a little while from posting full pics of the room since DH has to add his fly tying corner not to mention we are awaiting a wall mount for a TV (wohoo!!!! some background noise...FINALLY). Anyhow, since I am rather impatient about sharing GREAT THINGS (which I have a few things to share in the future *wink wink*) I figured I could start by giving you a sneak peak of "the room". And since I was taking photos I also figured I would take a photo of a card for you too *smiles*. Oh and you'll never believe it but this card is a regular size card *lol*...it's been a while.

Quick Tip: Stamp your chipboard in a dark craft ink and let dry. Once dry, stamp the same area in a lighter colour to add texture and depth to your chipboard.
