Gorjuss Girl

Spent a fantastic day at Tracey's.

I managed to get on her scrapbooking class and this was the following layout!!!

Remember the fab photos Steve took of Aimee from my last post, when I saw the papers we were going to be working with, I thought how freaky is that, those photos will go fantastic with these!!! Couldn't wait to get home and see if they did!!! I think they are perfect!

And I was lucky enough to stay on for the crop as well!!!

I picked the new Gorjuss stamps that I got for Mother's day and started to play with them! I finished one girl and placed it on top of the pages that I had just finished, and freaky episode number 2 the Gorguss Girl image that I just coloured went perfect with the papers!!!! I then had the hardest job of all to do, colour her in again exactly the same!!!! Very nearly, but after the 3rd attempt I wasn't going to try anymore!!!

The the task of finding a name for the pages, I think I spent about 2 hours trying different names, and for goodness sake the name was staring me in the face all along, d'oh!!!!!

Thanks Tracey and all you brilliant ladies, for the fantastic day, it is soo good to get together with other crafters and share stories and laughs!!!!

Girls .....

just want to have fun!

I have made this layout for a Challenge called 1,2,3,4,5 on Pages In Time Forum. I needed to use -

1--- piece of patterned paper
2---photos in your layout
3---(at least) lines of journaling
4---round eyelets or brads
5---letters in one of the words from your title

Most of the requirements are pretty obvious, but the brads are a little lost, there are four flower brads around the big flower.

These are photos from Aimee's 6th birthday party, and as I am very aware of children's photos being posted on line without permission, I have blanked out the children's faces, (except for Aimee's cousin Georgia). Aimee's best friend Milly is in the green top beside her, she was so worried incase Milly didn't turn up and her face was beaming when she saw Milly arrive! I had asked the girls to pose and this is what they came up with!!! The second photo is of Aimee just having a good time, hence the title!!!! Girls just want to have fun!

What I used

Cardstock - Some pink card I had lying around!
PP - Basic Grey - Gypsy - Archangel - Running with Scissors
Flowers - Large pink Bazzill - collection of rose buds Running with scissors!
Title - Silver Glitter card - Running with scissors - Font - cut from Craft Robo
Stamps - Prima Journal Frames - Running with Scissors
Ink - Around the edges of everything - Tim Holtz - Worn Lipstick
Paper Doily - Sainsburys

Beautimus

Definition of beautimus: Something that is both beautiful and fabulous. How cool is that?? I have created this layout from the following sketch that I designed for a sketch challenge that I am hosting on Tracey's Running with Scissors site.

And here is the layout that I created!

Not an exact copy of the sketch, but near enough!!

Close up of the beautiful Prima stamp and Prima bling! I have had this stamp set for over a year! Haven't used this stamp as I had no block big enough for it to fit on. Tracey got in some Rock-a-blocks and in the pack with the bigger sizes, the real big one fit!!! Yeah!!!!

What I used!
All bought from Running with Scissors
Bazzill - black and white
Flowers - Woodware
Prima stamp - Build a swirl
Bling - Prima - Say it with crystals
Crystals - Mark Richards
Title stamp - also from Prima Build a Swirl stamp set
Butterfly!

The black flower stickers are from Brigg Garden center and are Anita's

Dandelion Clock

Aimee loves to blow Dandelion Clocks, but she calls them wishes, love that!!!! Manged to get a few photos of her blowing them.

A few close ups!

I started the layout by using a die cut 12 x 12 paper, tracing around it onto other paper and cutting it out. I then measured around the edge and cut out the inside and then curled back the edges, I saw Tracey demonstrating this one day for one of her scrapbook ladies. Wet the edges lightly with a baby wipe and then curl them back on itself. Quick and easy distressing.

I then used a distress ink pad and cut'n'dry foam to colour the paper doily.

I used a cuttlebug die to make the beautiful vine.

I made the hat pins by threading some beads, chains and charms unto a stick pin, as they already had some beautiful pearl tops.

I stamped clocks onto acetate and cut around them.

I cut the title from cuttlebug dies and coated the letters in diamond glaze.

I also sprayed the big cluster of flowers with Glimmer mist

And I raised two of the photos at different heights to give more live to the layout.

Prima Paintables and Inktense

I decided to go big for my second attempt at Inktense!

They were perfect for the big background colour and I would defiantly recommend them for that sort of work!

I was afraid that the colours might be to wishy-washy for the strong colours in the photos, but I think they all work really well together

Oh BTW these are photos from my Cherry Blossom shoot this year!

My Little Petal!

I went to Tracey's Time for you crop on Saturday afternoon with really good intentions on using some Anna Griffin papers that I had brought with me. But Tracey was showing Nicki (thanks Nicki NOT!!! lol) The paper was just perfect for the photo that I picked out! So I HAD to have it. Here is the layout, prep work done at the crop, all the messy stuff done at home.

During Tracey's scrapbook classes they used butterfly punches so these were still out on the tables, as I had some spare green Bazzill I decided to punch a few butterflies, I laid them around the layout. Tracey came to see what I was up to and at the same moment both of us had the idea of making them 3D, great minds and all that, lol!

I picked out some lace and asked Tracey's opinion on it, she said yeah that's nice, do you know I have the perfect green ribbon that would look lovely laced through the lace. I said I bet you do, lol. Of course she was right, it looked perfect! I was buying some rosebud trim for someone else, and I bought some for myself, it was lying on the table next to the page and I had a light bulb moment of cutting the individual rose buds and sticking them onto the lace! I also put 3 rosebuds on the opposite corners.

Also when I got home (I done all the prep work at the crop, so all I had to do when I got home was ink, glue and stickle) When I had all that finished, and the page finished, I decided to use the paper curl technique that Tracey was showing someone else. It looked okay but it was missing something yeah some cardstock at the back and in my mind only green would do .... I then thought, OMG why did I do that I don't have any green cardstock to put at the back .... PANIC, shop isn't open till Tuesday, but I am at work all week, so it will be next Saturday before I can get back down, and anyone who knows me, knows I DON'T DO waiting! So I searched through my stash and found some Basic Grey paper, I gutted and made a frame to fit just around the border of my page, PHEW it worked. LOL

I also have to thank Tracey for the title. I am hopeless at titles, I threw out some titles and Tracey hit on a combination of what I had said! THANK YOU!!!!

The cuttlebug dies that I used was a fairy themed, and there was this cute little fairy, I had to include her in the page! Because the page works so well you don't actually see her until you really look at the page .... mmmmh I wonder if I can sneak a fairy on every layout that I do now!!!

And I have got a specail thanks to Tracey's Dad for the beautiful box that he gave to me yesterday, guess what the image was ....... A Fairy!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!

What I used:
Backing Cardstock: - Basic Grey - Pheobe (Thanks Kels)
Matting, Lettering, butterflies, Crown, Fairy - Bazzill
Patterned Paper:- Magenta - Dancing Butterfly
Lace
Rose Bud Ribbon
Stickles - Crystal (see Nicki, its on the heading and punched butterflies, and I was good I stopped and put the bottle away!!! How did you do?)
Butterfly punch (used at the crop)
Mark Richards - Pink pearls
Mark Richards - Crystals
Stapler and staples
Cuttlebug - Die - Fairy Alphabet (used at crop) and I have one on order, well d'oh
