SU! Convention 2009
Hello! Well I'm back from another fabulous trip to Salt Lake City for the Stampin' Up! convention. Like always it's so much fun to hang out with your friends and meet new ones. Also, to recognize and meet some of the demos you see on your favorite blogs. The excitement was in full force like usual and the swapping non-stop. I'm still amazed every year as to how much time some of those ladies put into swapping. Looks like some of them come with several hundreds. I'm lucky to get about 100 done :o).

Here's a picture of one Shelly showed during one of the sessions. As you can see it was taken off the big screen. But aren't those just too cool? :o)

As some of you know, snowman are my favorite during the holiday season. So, this one is made using one of the new hostess sets, The More The Merrier, and the Oval and Snowflake die for the Big Shot.
This one is using some of the new DSP, Cottage Wall and the new Butterfly punch. I used crystal effects and green micro beads on the butterfly.
SU! has some exciting new products coming out soon. First is the My Digital Studio, OMG! I have a feeling this is going to be a big seller, more to come on this later. Or, how about Build-A-Bear, yep, that's right, SU! has teamed up with Build-A-Bear -Stamps, Dies, DSP and while there we got to buy our own SU! exclusive Build-A-Bear, see picture below, isn't she adorable? And, one more item from Shelly's collection, Simply Adorned Charms where you can insert your own custom artwork. They can be worn on a chain or used as ornaments. I can't wait to get one.
Well, I know I said I was going to post pictures of my swaps before I left but as you can see that didn't happen, so here they are.
This is one of my new favorite stamp sets, Happy Together and Circle Circus. I just love those cute little quail. Doesn't it totally remind you of the Partridge Family? I think I just aged myself with that. :o)
I have lots more to share about convention, so stay tuned. :o)

Make & Takes from SU! Convention
Well, I haven't had anytime this week to do stamping, UGH! So I thought I'd post some pictures of the projects we made at convention. I would have to say that this years make & takes were some of my favorites. This one here to the left is using the new set, Inspired by Nature. I have a feeling I'll be using this stamp alot...love it! Cardstock used were from the new In Colors, Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss.
Here's a couple more, a Mini Album and Bookmark using the new stamp set, Eastern Blooms. This set will be another favorite. Love these book marks, great gifts for your friends, family and the kids teachers. Notice the new Filigree Designer brads? Also used the scallop chipboard square and sponged it with Old Olive Craft ink, then used the new Pacific Point striped grosgrain ribbon to attach it altogether.
A Note of Thanks Box. Oops! I just realized my little banner that's suppose to be attached to the rosette is missing. Can you tell how tired I am, I've been staying up too late watching the Olympics and still getting up at 4:30 for work. Anyhoo, this was fun to make especially the rosette and soooo easy too. We just took a 11" piece of ribbon, weaved linen thread(with needle from crafters' tool kit) along the edge of ribbon about 1/4" apart, then just pull thread to gather ribbon in a circle and there you have a rosette. Around the outer edge we used crystal effect and the silver chunky glitter. I'm sure I'll be using more of these rosettes in future projects. Hope you liked seeing some of these fun projects.

Back from Convention!
I would have to say that this years convention was probably one of my favorites. With nearly 6,000 women and some men it was quite the experience...so much energy and excitement everywhere you went. Stampin' UP! has come out with a fabulous Fall/Winter catalog that I'm just dying to share with all my stampers. UPS should be arriving at my door step any day now with my boxes...atleast I hope so.

One huge exciting news they announced was SU! and Sizzix teaming up. They will be offering a manual die-cutting system...The Sizzix Big Shot, and dies from Stampin'UP!, where you can create shapes, tags, envelopes and more. What I like about this machine is it will work with 50 different kinds of materials, from paper, plastic, fabric to metal. Here are a couple pictures I took of some examples they shared with us. I can't wait to order mine!
Here's another picture from when UPS surprised us with a FREE stamp set which they donated the costs for. Everyone went ballistic as you can see from all the confetti :o)
