Greek Gods

That's really the name of another polish (a Sinful Colors, old style, that's been on my wishlist forever, but that's perhaps beside the point), but combine a bunch of Greek gods and you have the Hits no Olimpo collection. I know you have seen them a gazillion times already, but here are my photos of Ares.

And just because it's Friday and I know you love the glitzy shit, here's a flash lit one:

I just took this off, after wearing it for three days,  but blogging about it this soon apparently did not help when it comes to me remembering the number of coats done. But perhaps, maybe it was two. I don't think I needed to do a third coat of this holographically shimmering red jelly. There could be a third coat on one or two nails, but I do ...not... remember. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Those of you who are into holos already have this one, and probably tried it on as well.

There's this one amazing thing with Hits polishes. Except the geniousness of the colors, and the exotic feeling of the Brazilian origin, they also wear like a rock! At least on me. I had one (1) small chip after three days, and that is really, really good for me. I can easily wear Hits polishes for a week - and that's even more rare for me. I love Hits.

My camera is freaked out by red colors, but then again, Blogger seems to think washing out the colors web palette style is apropriate, so perhaps the red color here is close to real. Who knows? Just don't view Blogger blogs on an iPhone screen! Seeing my own photos on my 4S makes me want to weel and permanently move under a rock.

Elemento X

Yay! She's blogging! I'll try not to write very much today, as my back hurts tremendously after this weekend's workshifts, but I want to show you my manicure - Elemento X from Brazilian Hits.

Two thick coats of green and rusty red duochrome shimmer in a black base. You know how I feel about these, right? After seeing it in the promo images for the collection it's from, the Power Puff Girls, I knew I had to have it, and as usual, my dear Brazilian friend Sarah was kind enough to get it for me. All in all, it's the same concept as the fabulous Black Emerald by Brucci, however I do believe the duochrome pigments aren't the same. The Brucci has a bit more true red to it, while here it's more brown leaning. But please do correct me if you think I'm wrong. Anyway, could make a good replacement for anyone who just can't find the Brucci. Though, I have to warn you, in case you haven't bought a Hits polish in a while: the new brush is horrible. It's wide and thick and has strands sticking in all directions, and it picks up a shitload of product, hence "thick coats". I got a few bubbles because of this, but they're not terrible.

Bonus photo of the pedicure I did for my daughter Miranda last night:

We're all longing for spring here in the northernmost hemisphere, right? I used a dotting tool to make these flowers. Perhaps not perfectly executed, but 5 year olds move around a lot.

Another Hit?

You know, I received so many nice polishes from my Brazilian friend Sarah, and this is another one of them. 679 from Hits.

Two coats. Most of the time it looks like a grey creme, but it does have a slight teal green tinge. More than that, it has very subtle, but gorgeous, shimmer, of what I can tell are pale blue and pink flecks. You can tell it's there in the closeup photo above. I wish the shimmer was more prominent, but sometimes I do get off on wearing finishes only I can tell what they really are.

The formulas of most of the Brazilian lacquers I have tried are fantastic, this one being no exception. I'm betting on these babies being filled with lovely toxins, and Sarah tells me that is true. Sometimes those laws get in between us and the perfect results we want!
