Re-insta the weekend away

Yep, another re-instagrammed post - I told you I have kept painting my nails despite not blogging!

Butter London Two Fingered Salute.

Filtered photo of A-England Rose Bower - the phone camera couldn't capture the true glow of this red.

Color Club Cloud Nine.

Darling Diva Polish Bitchcraft (over black for added depth) - totally amazeballs holo with multichrome glitter which I wasn't bitchcrafty enough to catch on photo.

Have a great weekend!

Recovered from instagram

As a follow-up to yesterday's post, here are some miscellaneous manicures that never made it onto a decent photo shoot, but got hastily captured with my phone and then published on instagram for my friends to drool over. Far from good, these photos represent manicures that were a lot better in reality.

Pahlish Anticipating and Pacing.

OPI Lost on Lombard.

OPI Alcatraz... Rocks pedicure, big toes have been topcoated.

Smitten Polish Isla de Muerto.

I don't even remember what this was, but the shimmer layered on top is a LE glassfleck from H&M, bought last summer.

Fun one, OPI Haven't the Foggiest with Darling Diva Polish I'm Fwee on top.

Darling Diva Polish Lucky Star.

Fimo butterflies encapsuled in a gel manicure, with slight bits of iridescent glitters. Hell to make, but pretty for work.

Scofflaw Thunderkitty.

OPI Save Me from the Nicki Minaj collection, over some cheap bright pink gel polish from Chinese ebay.

Essie As Gold as it Gets over Color Club Bright Night.

OPI Innie Minnie Mightie Bow.

And again, Essie As Gold as it Gets, this time over China Glaze Sun-Kissed.

Yep, that's pretty much what I've worn lately.

Outside the limelight

To prove that I'm still alive, here are som pictures of Color Club In the Limelight.

Three coats - this is another one of those Color Club cremes that is more sheer than they used to be.  And yes, I wore this manicure back when my index nail was broken. Interestingly enough, it has again, so this look is pretty up to date for me (which of course also explains the lack of blog posts lately).

About the color itself, apart from sheerness: I had hopes of this shade being an alluring darker periwinkle, but I was let down once it had dried on my nails. It's actually just a rather ordinary medium blue creme. It didn't exactly give me a tickle. It was in the same collection as Port-Folio, the widely famous green to pink duochrome purple, and there should be no suprises as to why In the Limelight was overshadowed.

The best of 2012

This time of year calls for summaries. First, I'll summarize my favourite polishes worn in the past year - that I have [decent] photos of! I may have liked some that I never got around to photographing, but let's not dwell on that, and take a look at the twelve prettiest manicures I did in 2012.

Lilacquer Jimi Thing (over Color Club In the Limelight)

Color Club Port-Folio

Finger Paints Plum Startled

Happy Hands Motherboy (here sandwiched with OPI Don't Touch My Tutu!)

OPI On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Girly Bits Shift Happens (over Jessica Divine Pine)

Pahlish Still Alive

Darling Diva Polish Carrie (over China Glaze Reggae to Riches)

Rimmel Hard Edged

L'Oréal Rebel Blue

Revlon Smoldering

Skin Food Cucumber

I enjoyed wearing all of these. Now, let's move on to next year and see what that brings.

What's in your Port-Folio?

So... Did I tell you about the Swedish weather yet? In case you somehow missed it, it's darn grey and ...no, it's pretty much black outside, actually. Today was no exception, but I have this polish on that I can not resist showing you, despite blurry photos! Check out Color Club Port-Folio, from the fall collection In True Fashion.

Three coats, but you may feel content already after two. Despite the blurriness, can you tell how nice this shade, or rather, these shades, are? We have a nice, darker purple base - not plum nor blurple - with that nice duochrome (technically, multichrome, but it doesn't always come out that obvious) that ranges from green to pink. It's the same shimmer that's found in Zoya Adina, but the base in the Color Club is much, much nicer, both color- and formula-wise.

The top photo, and the one below, also reveals this dilemma I told you about, that my index nail broke some time ago. It's still not that hot, but it's a little less repelling. I'm heading back to work on Monday, and I've decided to nubbinize all nails equally to the index by then, so they have a chance to grow out to equal length. Which is kind of sad, because all the other nails are very nice right now.

The last photo is taken with my compact camera, which, obviously, doesn't pick up the magenta tones, but the direct angle green looks so nice here.

Spam of complete randomness

Here's a post full of manicures that didn't get their own posts. Enjoy (if possible).

Flash lit photo of Dare to Wear Smokin' Diva (it's a very nice shade actually).
